Afternoon, Fools!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm pacific standard simon:

And rooty-poots.
Avatar 1:07pm Whooda:

Dig those crazy beats man!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm pacific standard simon:

Dig those empty seats!
Avatar 1:10pm Whooda:

That "indoor baseball" idea will NEVER catch on.
  1:11pm LovecraftDude888:

mainlinin the peet's coffee and listening ..digging it. hey Simon..what's up? We have snow reprieve for now...hehe
Avatar 1:12pm Whooda:

Did you buy yourself a grinder LovecraftDude or use the old 'bootheel' grinder?
Avatar 1:12pm Joe non Papa:

Not Shea. Maybe the Polo Grounds?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm pacific standard simon:

Dammit. I want snow. One lousy dusting all season.
  1:13pm LovecraftDude888:

whooda..no grinder as yet, will get one though. I found out the machine at my library that is being repaired is a $15,000 machine...pretty impressive. better than Starbucks
Avatar 1:14pm Whooda:

PSS I read that Seattle got 12" of snow this week...In NY we call that a dusting, but am surprised you Seattlites do the same.
  1:15pm LovecraftDude888:

Seattle got 12" what? hadn't heard that.
  1:15pm LovecraftDude888:

i have friends there and they say it almost never snows or gets super cold...mainly
Avatar 1:16pm Whooda:

@LCD you can find a blade grinder at the thrift store for $5-$10 In time you should spring for a good burr grinder. I got a Kenmore on Ebay (new) for $150.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm pacific standard simon:

Nope, no 12" in Seattle. South o'there, maybe. Portland got some snow.
  1:17pm LovecraftDude888:

Whooda..ok...yeah i will. I never bothered grinding my own but I might soon. I like Peet's though..big into it.
Avatar 1:18pm Whooda:

Ahh, I stand corrected, Portland. All those Northwest cities look the same to me.
Avatar 1:19pm Whooda:

Whole bean coffee is a gateway drug to espresso and home brewed cappuccino, so what out!
  1:22pm LovecraftDude888:

that's what I'm afraid of...trying not to OD on caffeine...but always some decaf around too. I try to switch off.
Avatar 1:25pm Mailman Tom:

With the WFMU Marathon coming soon, what will be on the Fool's Paradise premium CD this year?
  1:25pm LovecraftDude888:

I wanna buy one of those home Bunn makers at some point..those are like radical. my library has one of those German MKV whatever $15000 comm. vending self auto. machines..the sickest thing I've ever seen...but it's in the shop!
  1:26pm LovecraftDude888:

it even wipes your face for ya...anyway, show so far is kickin! yeahahh
Avatar 1:28pm Whooda:

The best coffee maker www.fantes.com...

My espresso machine; www.google.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm fred:

Espresso isn't that high on caffeine, trust me on that, I'm a software developer. You get the most caffeine when the water goes longer through the coffee, but the taste isn't there. Depends what you're after. I won't even acknowledge the existence of instant coffee or decaf.
  1:31pm LovecraftDude888:

yeah instant is generally horrendous. wow the X3 looks radical.. I never owned an espresso machine but might get a dual one at some point.
  1:32pm LovecraftDude888:

oof X3 is $500 yikes...
Avatar 1:34pm Whooda:

I got mine from Ebay (like new) for under $100. I think that they don't make them anymore though.
  1:36pm LovecraftDude888:

yeah looks discontinued. That machine at library is insane, like a cruise ship huge commercial machine ...does all but hook you up with a hot chick and get ya laid, too....alas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Greg from Bloomfield:

@Mailman Tom: a gaggle of volunteers dropped 20,000+ marathon brochures at the post office yesterday, so you'll have an answer very soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm fred:

I think the Italian word for instant coffee is "terribile". It seems the idiom involves spewing the offending beverage. At least that's what I observed at work when Italian composers or musicians first meet the local coffee machine
Avatar 1:37pm Mailman Tom:

Joe Franklin is still alive and well.
  1:38pm LovecraftDude888:

heehee! Fred...indeed. most of it is awful. the other library near me has one of those standard crap machines and it's awful....even the hot chocolate is bad. if it works at all.
Avatar 1:39pm Whooda:

that's a great joke DJ Rex.
Avatar 1:41pm Whooda:

Fred it was my Italian born x-wife that schooled me on coffee (and gelato).
  1:44pm LovecraftDude888:

so the Germans make some great machines too, from what I read, but they cost a fortune..the commercial ones for offices and such
Avatar 1:45pm Joe non Papa:

Hey Rex, tell us about your upcoming DJ swag. A Fool's Dance Inferno.
Avatar 1:45pm Whooda:

LCD I guarantee you the best cup of coffee ever with a press press. There super cheap. Let the grounds soak overnight in cold water then warm the coffee in the microwave in the morning. Or brew hot in four minutes. en.wikipedia.org...
  1:47pm LovecraftDude888:

haha Channel 7 ny news is "crews hit roads to fix potholes" why is that news? lazy bumms!/a press..yeah I have one of those..it's tricky but I like it sometimes. I'm using a cheap Bella maker right now a one cupper...it's not bad
  1:47pm LovecraftDude888:

Krups used to make great machines but not sure if they are around nowadays.
Avatar 1:50pm Whooda:

That Bella is pretty. Fixing potholes is NOT news, that's why the mainstream press is reporting about it, so important news isn't reported for the public. Otherwise, if the public was educated with real news, they would revolt. Seriously.
  1:51pm LovecraftDude888:

ha! indeed. "HPLDude throws out his garbage..film at 11" Bella is ok it's cheap that's all I know...not too bad. I have a Mr. Coffee too but it's like, meh.
Avatar 1:52pm Whooda:

DJ Rex your're really shaking the rafters today. Lovin' it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm fred:

@Whooda: I think rafters were made for Rex to shake. At least now they are, otherwise what's the point?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Greg from Bloomfield:

My God that guitar sound RIPS.
  1:57pm hoola:

i was juist gonna say the same thing ,,, never heard it quite like that
  2:00pm Wisconsin:

Rex always shakes the rafters. The only problem with his show is it's not long enough!
Avatar 2:06pm Joe non Papa:

@Wisconsin - I think he had a 3 hour show a dozen or so years back. I think it was later in the afternoon, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm fred:

@Wisconsin: it's there, and has been for years. I wouldn't trade that for a longer show that goes away after a couple of years. So I'm not complaining, more like trying to count my blessings. Anyone cares to help with whatever comes after 2?
  2:09pm Wisconsin:

Sorry. Being a little greedy I guess. Meant to be a compliment.
Avatar 2:11pm Whooda:

Switchy witchy that booty baby. Is it hot in here or is it just me?
Avatar 2:12pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Ice cream hips should cool it down for you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm fred:

@Wisconsin: don't be sorry, I'm sure it was understood as such. Don't be greedy, be thirsty. I'll drink one to you health
Avatar 2:13pm Mailman Tom:

stove pipe legs should heat things up!
  2:14pm Wisconsin:

@fred. Prost!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm fred:

@Wisconsing: that's the spirit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Greg from Bloomfield:

"Pork Chops" is one of the songs I heard years ago pre-Rex & Spazz that made me think "What IS this? Who makes this? Where did it come from? Is there MORE?"
  2:21pm Bumpy:

I think we can date the beginning of the decline of western civilization to when they stopped writing songs about food.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Bumpy, if you run for office on that platform, you've got my vote.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm fred:

@Bumpy: I think you're right, but no big deal. When they stop writing songs about booze, we're doomed for sure
Avatar 2:23pm Whooda:

Mailman Tom :) Stovepipe legs for a sweaty afternoon.
  2:24pm hoola:

now why is it you never hear taylor swift doing a remake of "Switchie Witchie Titchie"
  2:24pm Brez:

Hey, Rex, I'm cooking (in more ways than one) this afternoon. Got any food-related songs there today?
  2:25pm Wisconsin:

In my home state drinking is the favorite pastime.
  2:25pm Brez:

(I'm not cooking pork chops.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm fred:

@Wisconsin: That seems sensible enough. What came second?
  2:31pm Wisconsin:

@fred: Probably the Packers. But drinking and the Packers pretty much go together.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Greg from Bloomfield:

And let's not forget that The Giant Spider Invasion (1975) was filmed in Wisconsin.
Avatar 2:34pm Whooda:

Man I hate to leave now but want to get the shopping done and get back in time for the world premiere of DJ Terre' T's Triumphant Return to the Airwaves Return and the live treats for our listening pleasure.

Thanks DJ Rex.
  2:35pm Wisconsin:

@Greg from Bloomfield: Part of the Blues Brothers and Public Enemy also.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm fred:

I wouldn't mind tailgating in Green Bay. I like cold weather. I like football. I'm tied to the Pats though, I went to Foxborough in high school as an exchange student, I had no choice. In the late 80's, so don't call me a pink hat
  2:41pm Wisconsin:

At least the Pats are a cold weather outdoor team. Tailgating at Lambeau is great.
  2:41pm Wisconsin:

It's cold and snowing here in Milwaukee now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm fred:

It's mild and raining as usual near Paris, and I'm fed up with it. I wish there was some weather for a change.
@Wisconsin: back then I was the only French student who knew about football, and they managed to pair me with the only American student who was interested in European soccer. Fail!
I came in with a Broncos jacket, just in time to see Elways' crew get demolished by the Redskins. That game was over in the first quarter. But getting laughed at was still more respect than most of the other French students got
  2:54pm Wisconsin:

@fred: That's funny! When Denver loses Super Bowls with Elway at QB and general manager they manage to lose big.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm fred:

Funniest thing is that I was all Bronco at the time, but I had already understood Foxborough would be my adopted hometown, and plastered my room with Pat Patriot when I got back home
Nothing but respect for the Packers, Rodgers is a class act
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Killer show today, Rex– thanks!
  3:02pm Wisconsin:

Yes he/they are. Very unique ownership in Green Bay. I wish The Pats would wear their old uniforms more often.
  3:03pm Wisconsin:

'Til next week.
