Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 12:04am Nick Name:

  Fri. 2/7/14 12:04am tom:

Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 12:05am Droll:

I love prog. Full stop.
Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 12:06am Nick Name:

hi tom / droll - welcome all
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 12:08am Droll:

You're playing French prog -- Me, P-90, and Tom, that's all of us.

Maybe Mandl's lurking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 2/7/14 12:23am northguineahills:

digging.... (first track)

almost sounds like Squarepusher (current track)
  Fri. 2/7/14 12:26am Middleman:

Hey Nick, what was the name of that Magma track?
Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 12:26am Nick Name:

hi ngh , was thinking of playing some Squarepusher tonight
Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 12:29am Nick Name:

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 2/7/14 12:33am fleep:

With a star to click on. Excelente.
  Fri. 2/7/14 12:35am P-90:

  Fri. 2/7/14 12:52am Jim:

If it weren't for Ginger Baker, I wouldn't have stumbled on Fela Ransome Kuti (on 8-track tape!) back in the '70s.
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 12:57am Droll:

You mean: www.ebay.com...
Mine was on LP, and boy was I surprised.
  Fri. 2/7/14 1:00am Jim:

The label was different, but the cartridge was pink. I loved that tape--especially "Black Man's Cry" and "Let's Start What We Have Come into the Room to Do."
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 1:05am Peteski:

Enjoyed the show (everyone) so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 1:17am ausmanx:

evening from southern hemisphere, Nick and listeners. Roxy at their finest... noise band Systematics did a cover of this in a gig at my house a few months back. lends itself to mad covers...
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 1:19am Droll:

I'll bet the mid-song track switches were especially painful on that Fela Kuti cart. I guess you eventually learn the song as sounding that way. I was never into 8-tracks, I had a few C90's that cut the last 1-2 minutes off an album, and that sure sucked.
Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 1:21am Nick Name:

Hi Jim / Peteski / ausmanx - thx all for joining
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 1:45am Droll:

I like these... whatever you call it when you dub in the backing tracks on an acapella recording. There's nothing about it that sounds fragmented.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 2:23am ausmanx:

always liked this quote about Marisa Anderson... "I know that we have a tendency to worship guitar-playing women. Nothing against any of these bands and I’m sure they wail (Sleater Kinney, The Donnas, or even Hole) but I’d really like to see any of them try something like this."
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 2:46am Whooda:

Glad to be here, better late than never. Had to catch up on some political videos and such. Deperately need some decompression, so thanks for that DJ Nick Name.

@ Whoodski: how's it hangin? How many inches of snow up in the leather counties?
  Fri. 2/7/14 2:59am P-90:

Thanks for the show, DJ NN.

Excellent show!
Swag For Life Member Fri. 2/7/14 3:07am Nick Name:

Hi , Thx all , appreciate the comments - have a good weekend
Avatar Fri. 2/7/14 1:45pm Droll:

I got tired and bailed out in the last hour -- knowing the archives are there spoils me to do things like that. Some fine guitar work in that last hour... Especially liked the Matt Baldwin.

Who is Jack Name? Is that your brother? I smell nepotism!

Ditto what P-90 said, and your show is an even better segue into Stan's. Another fine 3 hour spectacle of contrasts. Have a fun week, see you Thursday!
