Dunno why it's called 2x5, it's in 6/8, and yes, I'm still stuck in my 6/8 phase.
Avatar 12:06am
Droll:

Okay, there's a bunch more math involved. 2x5 is probably in there somewhere.
  12:06am
Psycho Reggie:

Man, this Steve Reich is exactly what I needed tonight/ Good looks, Nick Name.
  12:08am
P-90:

Good Morning Nick ! I've said it before, I like the way you sound coming behind Dave and Bingo. A bit warmer in Jersey City than it's been, may I assume, since it's gotten warmer in NYC?
Avatar 12:08am

Happy Friday all. Am looking forward to those promised artists Nick Name. Thanks for the show
  12:09am
Psycho Reggie:

Oh, and Droll, 2x5 refers to the musicians. It's a looped thing of two quintets consisting of drums, guitar x2, piano, and bass. 2x5
Avatar 12:11am
Droll:

Ahhh, thanks. The 2x3 King Crimson must be blushing.

Hi Droll / Psycho Reggie / p-90 - i dig tasters - and all else - thanks for joining
  12:15am
Psycho Reggie:

Nah, I dig him but I'm not expert. I got stoned and listened to this record a lot when my college station got it back in 2008 or whatever.

It's worse than I thought -- there are videos: www.youtube.com...

P-90:

@Droll: Is that new 2014 Crimson 4 x 3 = 12 ? You just reminded me, I think that's what Dear Bob said.
Good bet they'll play some 6/8. I"m totally with Mr. Name on the bitchin'-ness of 6/8. It always sounds....."cosmopolitan" or something to me

I remember that as a Peter Cetera song, not Chicago, which I associate with Terry Kath.

Definitely good with whoever's playing bass here... I mean the song after Cetera on bass, of course.
  12:42am

I didn't realize Chicago was such a divisive band... It's gotta be the horns.
  12:52am
P-90:

@nate OMG that's right, that was wild. Freeform at its freakiest
@pss: don't be hatin' on poor Weinberg now, he was hip

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59am
pacific standard simon:

Didn't Terry Kath blow his brains out? Would that have had something to do with being partially responsible for Chicago?
Avatar 1:05am
Droll:

Ouch! I don't think Chicago was nearly that bad. Terry had an articulate and distinctive rhythm technique, and his "Free Form Guitar" on the CTA debut is nothing to be ashamed of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09am
pacific standard simon:

True -- I did like "Free Form Guitar" -- used it as an intro to Gang Of Four's "Anthrax" on a mix tape, and it segued PERFECTLY.

Is it 25 or 6 to 4 yet? Nope, only 9 past 1.

I am guessing that "Under the Hills and Nearby" is a play on Led Zeppelin? I liked that Space Lady, did a search on Wiki and learned a little more.
Avatar 2:21am
Droll:

The artwork on Bandcamp for Under the Hills has a J-Card -- how quaint!

I was going to make fun of the Guardian Alien drummer for all the fancy rudiments, but then I looked them up and it's the drummer's band. Go figure.
  2:54am

@ Flying Airport : not too sure? possibly. Yeh Space Lady cd is decent - thx for checking in
Avatar 2:56am

Thanks NN. Great Reich and thanks for the clue about Sax Ruins. Have a fun week!
