A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

glenn, I can name a couple, but they skew liberatarian, are younger and are not running for public office.
Avatar 10:29am Cecile:

herrb, ain't that the truth. And he has some taste and sensibility too - knows what fits and what doesn't. I'm looking at you STEVE WINWOOD.
Avatar 10:29am glenn:

Libertarians are just Republicans who like to smoke pot.

appropriate lyrics, eh?
Avatar 10:31am Cecile:

The purists are beyond the pale.
Avatar 10:31am Cecile:

trouble, you are killing it this am.

Avatar 10:33am βrian:

The libertarians I've known are the most purely ideological specimens imaginable. Winks are not allowed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Libertarianism is a Fantasy that we are not a a Society of people that have to find a way to live together - an ever-more complex one. It's a nice dream. ...Yeah - getting Govt. out of the bedroom & out of the Prohibition business is stuff we can get behind - sure - but getting rid of the Rules that have prevented Big Business from creating another Depression & buying the Electoral Process (&tc.) has been a complete Disaster in major proportions for us. What about OUR Liberty & Rights to the Pursuit of Happiness & Domestic Tranquility & Representation - ?!?!?!!!
Avatar 10:36am Cecile:

Politics is like a religion for more people across the spectrum than I care to name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36am Lewis:

@chris - that bird soundscape site is *really cool*
Avatar 10:37am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Thus far, the most repulsive thing about libertarianism are the libertarians themselves. Smug little creatures that seem forever drunk on the sound of themselves talking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 10:41am Cecile:

I've been reading Andrea Camilleri's Inspector Montalbano series. It makes me hungry! He's always eating tasty food or going swimming.

@sugarwold They;re good, and have been made into a fun, if occasionally baffling, TV series, in which the lead characters waistline expands as time goes on. There a new version, called Young Montalbano too, which is worth catching as well.
