Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...ah - good morning...if you knock my socks off (& I see I missed great stuff) I will put them back on - as we established last week you are hostile to podiatric aesthetics...
Avatar 5:03am dodge ball for dummies:

Full understanding of British humor requires a degree of inbreeding. I think it's damn funny.
Avatar 👻 5:05am Jherweg:

Yeah Pal leave your socks on!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I would describe my sense of humor as 'British', in a word...BBC4Extra's in my iTunes Top10...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...altho the Anglos may not want that on their doorstep...or my feet...
Avatar 👻 5:08am Jherweg:

Well I laugh at most of it. Some of it is a head scratcher though....benny hill is a good example......
Avatar 5:11am my God wears army boots:

It seems like British humor has become less wildly ridiculous since the 60's. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Now Japan is the wildly ridiculous one but in a cheaper way. Much like the Japanese business model for electronics.
Avatar 👻 5:13am Jherweg:

Different countries sense of humor i think are closely related to the porn and fetishistic sex they are into.
Avatar 5:13am Simon P:

Humour -what's that?
Avatar 5:14am insert inside out:

Well, that explains all those sheep joke from Montana.
Avatar 5:17am Simon P:

JH - you missing all that punk vinyl you sold or something?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

NewWaveTheater !
...It became the thing for Brit comedians (& comic actors, what have you) to define themselves *in contrast* to Monty Python - just like it's trendy to say you hate The Beatles in music - yerknow, what's nerdier than liking the Goon Show - even though it's the roots of everything...Obviously it's Generational too...
...In Japan you can have pedophile S&M Manga - whatever - but they can't show genitals in their porn I hear (?); wonder if that's changed by now maybe...
Avatar 5:22am directed by legs:

Pixalated and hairy: Made in Japan
Avatar 5:22am Simon P:

Monty Python-surely Dad's Army was the cutting edge?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...there's also the idea that as a Yank of a certain age - I got my ideas of England from only the *byproducts* of their Repression, that is, the reactions to it - TheWh♂, Python, Pistols - which gives one a skewed image of the place...Don't know Dad'sArmy - don't have BBCAmerica cable or such - I'm sure I'd like it...I think it may be that BritCom is just *smarter*, let's face it...
  5:28am marika:

hey jonathan! been listening to your sets this week. you're great! thanks for creating such blurred and obscured soundscapes. greetings from estonia!
Avatar 👻 5:29am Jherweg:

@Rev Rabbit
the UKIP 'politicians' are the funniest thing we have on offer right now but approach with caution and don't delve too deep
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...anyhow - I got over my long sort-of exclusive Anglophilia (I mean - I was never an urban Mod trendy or anything) - meeting a fellow from Belfast helped ! - & opened more to the whole World, if you will...Sadly, I think Britain is probably all too much like the USA - just different...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...in other words, SimonP...
Avatar 👻 5:38am Jherweg:

We are way way way more violent. And more entitled.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- as per Bill Hick's routine about 'Hooligans' vs. Crips...
Avatar 5:40am Earth is alright:

Just for shits and giggles I Wipedia'd Aileen Wuornos and discovered we do have something in common: "On May 20, 1981, Wuornos was arrested in Edgewater, Florida" I was arrested by Edgewater cops two years later. Edgewater cops were real jerk-offs back then for sure. There're probably the one's who set her off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& Americans hate queuing...nothing John Wayne about queuing...
Avatar 5:42am Simon P:

The US is afar stranger place than eg France in my experience. Despite all that 51st State stuff, there are massive cultural differences
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 👻 5:42am Jherweg:

11,300 murders on average per year, how ever NYC, has become very safe late is very safe, only about 300 murders last year, down from a high of nearly 3000 in the 70's... thanks Disney,
Avatar 👻 5:42am Jherweg:

Bill Hicks Rules.....
Avatar 5:44am copper carrotcake:

Avatar 5:45am kimgland:

great show, jonathan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...oh - the USA is strange awlright...just cut your hair short, grow a goatie, drink truly horrible 'beer', wear a baseball cap & sweatclothes & (above all) use small words & you may get by...none of which I do...
Avatar 5:47am Simon P:

@rev rabbit
that sounds just like the UK
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah - Julian Cope makes that point: Everyone thinks Rockers are DumbDumbs - but really they're the Gnostics - the Knowers.
