Good morning all! Regards from the laundromat on a chilly Saturday morning!
Avatar 3:09am Brian in UK:

Hello Boss. Winter drawers on?
Avatar 3:10am Brian in UK:

Andy, never too early for a tumble.
Avatar 3:13am Andy in Berlin:

@Brian - still spinning, tumble coming up soon
Avatar 3:14am Andy in Berlin:

...story of my life :)
Avatar 3:19am Jay/London:

good Morning Bill and all PIL cool met john once ... top guy
Avatar 3:20am Looms:

Hello there! Great start to the show.
Avatar 3:23am northguineahills:

I dig getting from AEC to Matmos... wait, what time is it?
  3:24am P-90:

G'Mornin', Bill M. And everyone around the woild.
Avatar 3:25am Jay/London:

like this steam and sequins but have4 never heard of the band how long have been going? .. what year did this come out? Bill
Avatar 3:25am Bill Mac:

Gentlemen! Almost bought it this morning on the way to work. Hit a slick spot doing about 40 and started fishtailing. By the look of it, other commuters were so afraid of driving any further that they pulled beyond the abutment onto the dirt. From then on, it was blinkers on @ 10 miles per hour. I think I prayed a little.
Avatar 3:27am Jay/London:

you be very careful out there Bill .. thought it was getting better now
Avatar 3:27am Andy in Berlin:

I once was coming off the highway onto the off ramp, hit a patch of ice and spun around so fast I suddenly found myself back on the highway.
Avatar 3:28am Andy in Berlin:

....almost lost it on that one but mostly because everybody in the car was laughing so hard
Avatar 3:33am Bill Mac:

Yeah Andy, better to almost get in a fatal car accident in the company of good pals! @Jay Promise to be careful - matmos was released in 2006. hey ho everybody!
Avatar 3:33am Brian in UK:

I love the smell of adrenalin in the morning.
  3:35am Emile:

Man you really are trying to wake me up. Better than coffee. And thanks for the AEC -- any AEC is good AEC.
Avatar 3:36am Jay/London:

Metmos sounds like it came from the late 80s Bill
Avatar 3:39am Andy in Berlin:

typo alert! BeLong!
Avatar 3:39am Bill Mac:

Oh yea Brian! I must've said 'oh no, God please!' about 20 times in 30 seconds. Didn't need to bring in the year with yet another ice related accident. bring on the summer!
Avatar 3:40am Bill Mac:

@ Emile - Hey hey! Glad you guys liked the AEC!
Avatar 3:44am Bill Mac:

@Andy I was hoping that I could get to that before anyone noticed. Thanks for keeping me honest!
Avatar 3:45am Looms:

Speaking of live acts, the AEC is one of my best memories.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45am Stanley:

Good mornin Bill and peeps.
Avatar 3:47am Andy in Berlin:

@Bill - what the hell else have I got to do waiting for the clothes to dry? :)
Avatar 3:47am Brian in UK:

We still use poles and furlongs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48am ! I X Key !:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48am ! I X Key !:

That weather is feckin crazy
Avatar 3:48am Jay/London:

thats about 15c bill i think
Avatar 3:50am Brian in UK:

Horse racing uses furlongs.
Pole is used on our allotment about 16 feet.
Avatar 3:51am Jay/London:

still use furlongs for horse racing don't know about poles maybe brian can help us out on that
Avatar 3:51am Jay/London:

you must have read my mind Brian !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51am ! I X Key !:

Good morning
! What is a centigrade
? What is a meter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51am Stanley:

"In order to convert Fahrenheit temperature into Celsius, start by subtracting 32 from the Fahrenheit number, then divide the answer by 9. After that, multiply that answer by 5."

No wonder we stick to one or the other. There are still many people here in UK that only use fahrenheit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52am Stanley:

@Jay - I think you mean minus 15 degrees C
Avatar 3:53am Brian in UK:

A meter is one of the Neville Brothere. Ta Daa.
Avatar 3:55am northguineahills:

*Shakes impotent fist*, darn it, I have 'A Jackson in Your House' on vinyl, I don't have 'Message to Our Folks'. *sobs*.
Avatar 3:55am Jay/London:

no 60f is 15c stanley
  3:56am Emile:

Funny (and cool) that you're playing Budgie. I was just trying to dial them up on Spotify recently. Weirdly, one of those bands that don't participate.
Avatar 3:57am Brian in UK:

Feckin' cold is feckin' cold in any grading.
Avatar 3:57am northguineahills:

I used to teach weather and climate at Hunter College, and my gf is Mexican, so, daily I'm constantly converting from Imperial to Metric.
Avatar 4:00am Bill Mac:

@Emile - Interesting - I didn't think it was up to the band. definitely one of my favorites
Avatar 4:01am Bill Mac:

NGH - That must keep you on your toes.
Avatar 4:05am northguineahills:

It's become automatic converting to metric. (although it still takes my brain a while to do kg/lbs, and cm/ft. However km/miles comes easily.)
Avatar 4:07am Andy in Berlin:

ok, I'm back from the laundromat - strudel in hand!
Avatar 4:08am Jay/London:

and coffee I hope Andy in Berlin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08am ! I X Key !:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10am ! I X Key !:

Coffee one of the most real-making things
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12am ! I X Key !:

Always a strudel or always things like strudels that go a good daily yum-all-up, kind of, or thing to do, kind of

  4:12am Emile:

Whoa this track is making me dizzy
Avatar 4:14am Bill Mac:

What's better, Syd or Floyd?
Avatar 4:15am Looms:

Floyd 'til 1975.
Avatar 4:15am solarflares:

Syd Floyd?
Avatar 4:15am Brian in UK:

Neither. Ah Karen.
Avatar 4:15am Bill Mac:

So that includes Darkside
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16am ! I X Key !:

French toast!
Avatar 4:16am northguineahills:

Wow, love this Vicky meta-collage.....
Avatar 4:16am Brian in UK:

Vicki should have done The Beatles remix Love album
Avatar 4:17am Bill Mac:

Not a fan of Floyd Brian. This is pretty much the only way Ms Carpenter gets on the show, by way of covering a cute Beatles wannabe tune mashed up with a Beatle tune.... I like it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18am Stanley:

...and there I was just about to float off into space with Karen Carpenter. Still nice though.
Avatar 4:19am northguineahills:

Crap, it's after 4, time for another nap. Furlough has mussed my circadian rhythms...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20am ! I X Key !:

holy feckin gods it!s Mr. Thirlwell
Avatar 4:20am Bill Mac:

NGH - I scoff at the circadian rhythms - makes me a prime candidate for a heart attack
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20am Stanley:

@ngh - nice to see you up at this hour. Enjoy them zzzzzzzs
  4:20am P-90:

@Bill: Congratulations. On surviving, not praying. Funny, just this afternoon I was telling someone about that video someone posted to your comments board a few weeks ago, of all those Russian icy-road spinnouts and pedestrian near-misses...
Avatar 4:21am Bill Mac:

@IX Key Yep, right after Karen Carpenter - how predictable..
Avatar 4:21am Andy in Berlin:

@Jay - finished folding, now to put the coffee on
Avatar 4:22am Bill Mac:

@P-90 That was crazy stuff wasn't it? Who manages to collect all of that stuff and put into one video anyway?
Avatar 4:23am northguineahills:

Laters Stanley & Bill!
  4:24am P-90:

And thanks for giving me Budgie and Karen K. In the same playlist. It's what I listen to FMU for
Avatar 4:24am Bill Mac:

@NGH - Thanks for poppin in!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25am ! I X Key !:

How about Mr. Thirlwell's new arrangements for string quartet of music by Zola Jesus at MOMA, too?! What does everyone have to say about thay?!
  4:26am M:

Thirlwell = genius
Avatar 4:26am Jay/London:

@Andy in Berlin on my 3rd now !
Avatar 4:27am Bill Mac:

@P-90 it's lovely to pull together different crap - like cherry jello and chalk.... mmmm chalk....
Avatar 4:28am Brian in UK:

Enjoyed Foetus, both of them. Going to hear the Estonian Philharmonic Choir in a couple of weeks. Unaccompanied voices.

No to Floyd, no humour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30am ! I X Key !:

I love for white wine to taste chalky
Avatar 4:31am Bill Mac:

@Brian - That sounds cool and I agree, not much to laugh at in Floyd music.
Avatar 4:32am Bill Mac:

@IX - We saw Zola and Thirlwell in Philly last fall. Excellant as excepted
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32am ! I X Key !:

If you ask me, I!m on th side that exclaims that white wine should be dry ie tasting more like alcohol & like chalk!
  4:32am P-90:

Thirlwell always thrills me. Well.
Avatar 4:33am Brian in UK:

What do you like your chalk to taste like?
Avatar 4:34am Brian in UK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34am ! I X Key !:

@B wicked pissa on ya! I wished I could have made it to that! But I was all the way here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35am ! I X Key !:

What were the most interesting nuances of the time that weren't played, but lived, really?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am ! I X Key !:

I don't want to ever actually taste chalk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am ! I X Key !:

But you thing things
Avatar 4:37am Bill Mac:

Tough being there when yr here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am ! I X Key !:

I suppose I want ly chalk to taste like chalk! If it doesn't, thn what is it?! But that wouldn't mean a person should put it in their mouth?! Did I get it wrong?!
Avatar 4:40am Bill Mac:

Yup - chalk - accept no substitutes!
Avatar 4:43am Brian in UK:

It is a beautifull sunny day over here now, Bill.
Hope to make some cheese this weekend, got a cheese kit the other week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43am ! I X Key !:

Really in real life, how else can you pair another taste with languistine to bring out the full taste of everything?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am ! I X Key !:

Chalk & no fakery & no lies & no feckin kidding
Avatar 4:46am Bill Mac:

@Brian - I know a guy who has a cheese kit...
I feel kind of inadequate now.Is there a specific kind of cheese you make?
Avatar 4:47am Jay/London:

@ Brian YES SUN BLUES SKY’S.... but more rain on the way there is now flooding along the Thames, enjoy the sun while we can
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47am Mrs Stanley:

Hello maestro Bill et al., this is a favourite song of mine (St Etienne) so wfmu delivering as always
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49am Mrs Stanley:

we got a mushroom kit for Christmas...
Avatar 4:49am Bill Mac:

Hey Mrs Stanley - I never knew what to make of this group so I thought I'd give this a shot. Very nice indeed!
Avatar 4:49am Brian in UK:

Mozzarella or riccotta, just young soft cheeses.

Pancetta with prawns or langoustine is fine. You can mix cheese with fish at times.
Avatar 4:50am Brian in UK:

@ Mrs Stanley, do you like The Clientele?
Avatar 4:51am Jay/London:

@ Brian can you eat it right away or have to wait days weeks ect
Avatar 4:52am Brian in UK:

Jay I will let you know, guess you can eat it pretty soon. Not keeping it in a cave for three years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52am Mrs Stanley:

will check them out Brian. Husband says I'm out of my musical depths w you crowd; he is correct
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55am Stanley:

I've been making paneer (Indian cheese) for years. The only piece of kit needed is a bit of muslin cloth.
Avatar 4:57am Brian in UK:

@ Mrs Stanley do not listen to him about this boys club. Here is a splinter from The Clientele sounds lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57am ! I X Key !:

I wonder it!s like PRAY + ATHEISM
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58am ! I X Key !:

I!ve never heard anyone other than me exclaim that wonder!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00am Stanley:

Haha Bill ....other shows. I like it!
Avatar 5:01am Brian in UK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04am Stanley:

Dub certainly changed my mind..... I think it was dub.
Avatar 5:05am Bill Mac:

You hope it was dub!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05am ! I X Key !:

  5:06am KP:

Ok. I'm such a wimp these days.
Avatar 5:08am Bill Mac:

Why? Cos you're sleeping at 300am like normal people?
  5:09am KP:

I thought I was a natural night crawler but apparently it was just the job. I do keep busy with a lot of plays, movies and occasional concerts but for most part it's early to bed
  5:13am KP:

Speaking of plays I wanted to mention Stoppard's Rock N Roll, which I saw several years ago. It 's about the Plastic People
Avatar 5:15am Bill Mac:

Wow! Where's that showing? Has anyone name dropped it here?
  5:17am KP:

But also pink Floyd snd how they help Czechoslovakia's cultural revolution. Syd Barret is actually depicted in it. I think I've mentioned it here before but I got nothing else
  5:19am KP:

Well normal people and me are seldom mentioned in same breath but I have adjusted to the bread winner's hours
Avatar 5:19am Bill Mac:

I would imagine that you liked it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21am ! I X Key !:

I love that Tom Waits song so much
  5:23am KP:

And we go to a lot of "things." Last night, or tonight, it was john Hodgman. I had misgivings but he was v good
Avatar 5:23am Bill Mac:

Up til today I only heard Jeffrey Lee Pierce cover it hip hop style.
Avatar 5:24am Bill Mac:

Hey man, you seem to get out a lot more than most folks. You still got the Penguin gig right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am Stanley:

So good the dj played it twice
Avatar 5:29am Bill Mac:

it's supposed to be an extended cut.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31am Stanley:

I likes.
  5:33am KP:

Yes. We are about to record again. and still play out. There is also talk of a Fruits de Mer concert in the city, and soon
Avatar 5:34am Bill Mac:

Sometimes I need that 5 minute tune - you know, for me.
Avatar 5:34am Bill Mac:

KP Please keep me in the loop for that one!
  5:37am KP:

Yeah maybe it will be on your show, the American contingent will just show up one night
  5:43am KP:

I have five events to attend in one week, including last night, Ana Netrebko in a night club should be highlight
Avatar 5:49am Brian in UK:

Cookin' show today, Bill. Mind them roads on the way back.
Got any comedy records, like The Smiths!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51am Stanley:

@Brian - good job the missus has left the flat, she'd be right round with a rolling pin for a comment like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52am Stanley:

Avatar 5:53am e12:
