White Overalls:
memories of Xmess 1978 when this promoted heavily in our local record shop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Nate K:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Guido (Cologne):

Hi Mr. DJ Nate
Avatar 3:23pm (intentionally left blank):

Just a note of gratitude for the show DJ Nate K while my plagued wifi connection will allow it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm Nate K:

Thanks (left blank)!
  3:30pm Jim:

Hey Jim, thanks for the comments. I pulled the Life Stinks 7 inch, I'll get to it a little later.
Avatar 3:39pm the glowing one:

a cowbell AND clap song!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm efd:

Hey Nate, great show so far (and I'm sure that will continue)! One quick note - I think that Punk 45 comp is on Soul Jazz, not LITA...?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Nate K:

Correcto! @EFD Thanks for the heads up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Nate K:

  4:12pm lucas:

Wow, I've heard a song that samples this one all my life without knowing where that sample came from.
Avatar 4:17pm On the Yazoo:

Otha Turner died a few years ago.. His daughter still keeps the tradition alive.
Avatar 4:22pm On the Yazoo:

Hey Nate, great show & good running into you at the Record Fair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Guido (Cologne):

let's spend the jam together
Avatar 5:24pm PKNY:

@Guido - I was thinking the same thing, that Jam track was a hardcore Stones bite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm Guido (Cologne):

Sex Pistols "Submission was a prominet Kinks Riff.
better stolen riffs tha bad ones ;-)

well deserved re-discovery of Stray.
Of of my odd 2nd-hand-finds years ago,
but found that record appealing after repeated listens.
Avatar 5:29pm PKNY:

The Thin Lizzy dual leads are strong in this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Gosh...the news headlines say a small plane made an emergency landing on some freeway in The Bronx. Three injured.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Rage !!
  5:38pm LovecraftDude888:

nevermind that, heard some Chasidic dude who was kidnapped robbed Friday night was found in dumpster in Getty station over here in Great Neck! Nice! But I read he was some kind of hideous slumlord or shady developer. Urghh Nothing like the smell of burning charred flesh as you run out to the mart to get a coffee!
  5:39pm LovecraftDude888:

c'mon guys, we gotta keep the gallows sick humor going here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Nate K:

Keep it sick guys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...that Jam track *is* a *Kinks cover*...
...hmm LDude - maybe some things *are* worse than living in hillbillyland...
  5:40pm LovecraftDude888:

I'd sooner go upside down in a hovercraft backwards with no wetsuit across Eng. Channel than get in a small plane. For sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Guido (Cologne):

Don't scare me!
Didn't the goverment say "stay at home and let the WFMU-DJs pass by?"
  5:41pm LovecraftDude888:

Stay Sick...The Cramps always instruct us
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm fleep:

Hey, using a gas station dumpster is illegal, they need to get those people.
  5:42pm LovecraftDude888:

it's like..oh wow Dad I found an old guitar amp...and a dead guy ok
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...better than totally crashing!...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...finders keepers...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Guido (Cologne):

Allright, this is a BEATLES-Rip-off now!
I think it is a track called "Morning" from "Help, sung by Paul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm fleep:

Okay, YOU confront a bunch of Strapping Fieldhands and tell them that.
  5:44pm LovecraftDude888:

dammit I missed The Jam...it's ok I'm usually playing them 24-7 anyway over here
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Macca could charm them...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...or sue their overalls off...
  5:49pm LovecraftDude888:

guys, i have a friend from Newcastle and is an orig. punk 76 etc. and cannot stand The Jam!! I cannot figure it out. Anybody know anybody British who hates them? I'm like..I'm American and I'm the biggest Jam fan ever!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Guido (Cologne):

jam is MOD-Revival, NOT PUNK (as such) !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...it's because they're Mod of course...but migawd they were Huge over there...
  5:51pm LovecraftDude888:

I know I know..that's true. Well anyway....you know what I mean. I think she just never liked Weller's voice or whatever. God knows
  5:52pm LovecraftDude888:

But I'm a Yank and always thought of The Jam as being part punk or imbued with the punk spirit....or something. It's different perception over here I think. Although once I heard The Style Council I was like...er...I dunno what he was doing! But I caught on later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Guido (Cologne):

Others cannot stand David Byrne ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I really like Slade & (London) Suede too - underground acts only in Yankee-land...
Avatar 5:52pm PKNY:

Classic break beat record right here!
  5:54pm LovecraftDude888:

I mean, I'm talking back in 1984 hearing TSC on radio here WLIR, etc. I was too young to realize how radical it was compared to The Jam since I barely knew the latter then. I did sort of. To me it was all of a piece...M+M...Echo...The Smiths. whatever, at that point.
Avatar 5:54pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Ha, thought the same thing about Style Council.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Reminded of Rob Tyner's report from England reflecting on the Fashion Clique-ism over there:
...'@ least in America, if you get beat up - you usually know *what for*'...
  5:55pm LovecraftDude888:

I hear Dick Manitoba STILL hates The Talking Heads!! He never could stand them. I was in his club a few times but years back now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Guido (Cologne):

Slade still cult in Germany.
Not my stuff ... except the early incarnations as the N-B-Tweens and Ambroise Slade.
  5:56pm LovecraftDude888:

that's prob. true. Some dude was dressed as Gumby
3 yrs ago at Peter Murphy show in NYC and nobody would
even pay attention here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...loved The Wh♂, Kinks, (Revolver) Beatles, Classic Soul - how could I *not* like The Jam - ?? Great songs, great trio playing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Guido (Cologne):

no complains from me as well!!!
  5:57pm LovecraftDude888:

and that Gumby bastid was pulling some birds! I need a Gumby outfit...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...ahmn Gumby dammit !!
5:58pm Sissophonic Cheryl & Todd O Phonic Todd:

Thanks Nate! We rocked out! Cheryl
  5:59pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

Trolls' "Every Day and Every Night," raving fave! Brats were the 1st band i ever saw!
  5:59pm LovecraftDude888:

I was like why is a guy dressed as Gumby at Peter Murphy show...
and Peter up there doing meth not noticing...oof! May have to take dinner break, just when things are getting interestin....back in a bit!
  6:00pm LovecraftDude888:

ARGHH the show is over already...time flies
  6:00pm JakeGould:

I hate the Jam. Like the Kinks, the Who, the Smiths, Led Zeppelin & Black Sabbath. All British bands. But the Jam’s sound and their fans are some of the most irritating anglophiles I have ever met. Worse than Smiths fans & I like the Smiths!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I don't know them - so I just like the rekkids!...
  6:01pm LovecraftDude888:

Really...geez man. I don't think I'm that bad. I was big into The Smiths in HS etc. and late 80s but have gone off them more or less these days, I fear. But I once was huge into them. More into Echo and Bunnymen if anything now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...time w/ a Northern Irish person can help w/ excessive AngloModism...
