Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Hi everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Matt from Springfield:

Bout time!
Clay & Fab & Pigeonnaires!!
Avatar 6:12pm Cecile:

Fab, you might like Goose Island's ginger ale. It's got a bite, and it's sweetened with sugar. Really good stuff.

Now I have to leave. Clay, your cue to be paranoid.
Avatar 6:13pm Night Al:

Green tea with honey ... I drink a gallon a day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm Matt from Springfield:

Paranoia-free night to ya, Cecile!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm Matt from Springfield:

I'M 28 too! But...next year I'll be 29!! ;)
Avatar 6:15pm Night Al:

My message of annoyance and disinterest ...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm Ike:

Maine Root Ginger Brew is the best. It has a very nice strong spicy kick to counteract the sweetness. See also Fentiman's and Bruce Cost. Reed's isn't bad either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm Matt from Springfield:

@Al: Noooooo MOAADs here! MOPALs only! ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm Matt from Springfield:

*Kind of* nostalgic??!
Avatar 6:18pm dale:

vernors is the best ginger pop. that, and squirt is a fine fruity beverage
Avatar 6:18pm kat330:

Avatar 6:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

ZARDOZ was fleeping awesome! The Penis is EVIL!
Avatar 6:19pm dale:

ZARDOZ - sean connery in diapers, the great floating stone head shooting guns out it;s mouth...fanTAStic!
Avatar 6:19pm kat330:

Director is John Boorman (not speaking of gingerale, which is ruled by Vernors.)
  6:19pm P-90:

John Boorman (Deliverance) directed the brilliant Zardoz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm Matt from Springfield:

Or, as Muddy Waters sang: "Mannish Boohr"...
Hiya Kat!
Avatar 6:20pm kat330:

Hey, Matt, you're Fed job's all back and hunky dory, yeah?
Avatar 6:20pm kat330:

Hey, Matt, you're Fed job's all back and hunky dory, yeah?
  6:20pm mrrecord:

BRAZIL Excellent film
  6:20pm Ray L:

Boorman's an odd case -- Zardoz, Deliverance, Excalibur, The General -- extremely different movies, styles ...
  6:21pm mrrecord:

BRAZIL Excellent film
Avatar 6:21pm kat330:

Ooops, trying to eat and type -- first of all YOUR, not "YOU'RE" and didn't do anything to double on my end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm Matt from Springfield:

@kat: Back and hunky dory and THEN some! To include technical difficulties and thinking of workarounds, etc. Back in full swing! :) Glad to be home listening to Clay right now!
Avatar 6:22pm Night Al:

We have a state-of-the-art stadium-style IMAX theater here ... the best way to see a flick.

I just saw Gravity in 3D IMAX ... pretty cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm Matt from Springfield:

I couldn't possibly pick a single fave movie--when my Mom was recently asked, she thought and determined "Annie Hall"--as her ultimate "desert island" movie, if she could only bring one.
Avatar 6:23pm kat330:

@Matt: Well, good then, because you're fired as my East Coast Promotions Man (Mensch label dropped). :, First rule of "promoting" involves knowing the product you're promoting. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm Matt from Springfield:

  6:23pm Robb:

Favorite movie: The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across The 8th Dimension with Peter Weller
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm davex:

Lurking and scrolling...
Avatar 6:24pm dale:

diblasios valley girl daughter with the mother nature flower band in her hair cracks me up.
Avatar 6:24pm kat330:

Fab, why aren't you saying (on air) that you were given the Zardoz director's name -- BOORMAN.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm Matt from Springfield:

@kat: I will get to it, I swear!!! :) I couldn't play in Soundcloud, but I just opened it and they said there's a new version of it, so maybe they were running updates. Fingers crossed it will play tonight.
  6:26pm Fred:

Clay I see Bison nearly every day in Golden Gate Park. Does that count?
Avatar 6:26pm Night Al:

They had free roaming buffalo near Ft Sill, OK where I was stationed in the army.

I use to hike around them on my time off. You have to treat them like wild bulls ... dangerous!
Avatar 6:27pm kat330:

OK, Matt, but we're talking several weeks now. I don't even use the new version, btw, and can play with no problem. Weird.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Matt from Springfield:

And SISTERS OF MERCY! Excellent, I will definitely check that out!
(soundcloud.com..., to those wondering what we're chatting about...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Matt from Springfield:

@Robb: You and BadGuyZero as well, quite a few 80s kids really dig that movie.
Avatar 6:29pm kat330:

I was lurking until supplying the Boorman answer, waiting actually for sFrances. Are you lurking Frances??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Matt from Springfield:

@Clay: Hundreds, OR thousands of listeners ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Matt from Springfield:

@Al: I would imagine, they're *really* wild animals!
  6:30pm LovecraftDude888:

I recall seeing DUNE the same week Buckaroo opened in E. Meadow LI and we saw DUNE cause that was the movie we were there for, everyone was baffled minus me who was already a DUNE nut, but there was some guy at Burger King near theater who was obsessed already with Buckaroo, cracked us up! Some nutty neo hippie guy....how he was already obsessed i dunno but he seemed to be.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Matt from Springfield:

All Clay favors are weird favors!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm davex:

Avatar 6:31pm Night Al:

Was that part of the 8 minutes?
Avatar 6:31pm dale:

i was uploading cd's to my corn-pooter today, and most everything i have (and i have hundreds and hundreds) i could do without. i listen to 'fmu 90% of the time. local am station the rest of the time just to hear the police blotter
  6:31pm ian:

I never realized clay has such a great singing voice. whoa!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm Matt from Springfield:

Wow, tim from champaign!
Avatar 6:32pm Night Al:

REO Speedwagon's playing a show here this weekend ...
Avatar 6:32pm glenn:

Avatar 6:32pm kat330:

Another answer for Fabio from his show -- I didn't hear if he finally came up with the answer himself, or someone else did -- anyway, Gene Hackman was the actor he couldn't think of.
  6:32pm LovecraftDude888:

I hate flutes. I hate the flutes in the NICO first album. Which ish why I prefer the later Nico minus the flutes. Good lord.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm Matt from Springfield:

@ian: You didn't??! He sings all his own material! :)
@davex: Do a Clayvor, for your neighvors...

Yo glenn!
Avatar 6:33pm kat330:

LovecraftDude888: I hate bad music. I hate any music played badly. I hate instruments that are not tuned well.
  6:33pm LovecraftDude888:

We solved the French Connection question. Hackman
and Scheider playing Eddie Egan and "Cloudy" Russo,
or whatever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Matt from Springfield:

Tim Allen *dealt* coke??! You mean there was some left to sell! :rimshot:
  6:35pm LovecraftDude888:

I know, but it's flutes that usually disturb me for some reason. I don't even like the Morton Feldman pieces with flutes usually. Much prefer his strings, piano, and quartet pieces for sure. But that's just for Feldman's stuff.
Avatar 6:35pm kat330:

Have you ever heard recorders?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm Matt from Springfield:

Fabio is one *cool* lizard...
  6:36pm LovecraftDude888:

oh yeah, I recall playing one of those in grade school like a lot of us. I had no skill with it. Sounded like a wheezing dying wombat.
I"m better with a guitar!
  6:37pm LovecraftDude888:

nice bunny!
Avatar 6:37pm kat330:

Have you folks tonight how they're completely ignoring the playlist comments? Where's sFrances so I can get off?!
Avatar 6:38pm kat330:

"noticed" the missing verb.... sigh ...
Avatar 6:38pm glenn:

i posted this before, but it's pretty amazing.
  6:38pm LovecraftDude888:

bunny cat? ok. I sort of did. at least we can have our own
kooky dialogues here.
Avatar 6:38pm Night Al:

it's a call-in show tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm Matt from Springfield:

Yeesh, feels like 7SD here...

Haven't seen Frances tonight, I'm certain she'll go to this Archive as soon as she can--type out a message to her!
