I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

So what's on tap for today's show? Noise? Ethereal? Psychedelic? Spoken word?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Tome:

Lemon Kittens are delicious!
Avatar 12:32pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Greetings from Northern England - just been for awesome autumn walk and this Mutual States track would have been great soundtrack!

"Urodi Pod Vodoi" is an anagram for "I Pour Void Dodo"

Hi, BLG!
Avatar 12:43pm BigLankyGeordie:

Hi Bryce! Any chance of some Boards of Canada this evening? ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Bryce:

can't really guarantee anything request-wise; just sort of blowing in the wind here...... whssssshhhhhhh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm Carmichael:

Yeppo, Bryce. November is end-to-end cranberry sauce.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Bryce:

an endless gelatinous log
Avatar 12:55pm Mary Wing:

Hi Bryce! I never tire of this Craig Leon album, <3 <3 <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Ike:

I love Boards of Canada but I can't really imagine hearing them on this show (although they would fit in with that first track). That might break my brain. Heck, might as well play the new Arcade Fire!
  12:56pm Zb:

Woah, this is incredible. Nommos.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm Carmichael:

Thsi sounds vaguely Jean Michael Jarre-ish, which is OK. I enjoyed Oxygene and especially Equinoxe. I'll have to scoop up Mr. Leon's collected works.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Bryce:

hiya, mary!
Avatar 1:03pm Chris from DC:

Yay, Bryce means this week is almost over.
  1:06pm Sava:

Greetings from Novi Sad! Great stuff you're playing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Bryce:

wow, hi, sava!
Avatar 1:07pm zeer:

that was an awesome track. greetings from germany
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Bryce:

hola, zeer :)
Avatar 1:10pm BigLankyGeordie:

I loved those Nommos tracks too, just trying to track down a vinyl copy now!
Avatar 1:11pm Cecile:

I want to hear Jean-Michele Jarre and a Hobo!

Also, Bryce, if you like Lou Reed, I'd love to see your take on what track you would remember him with.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Bryce:

hahaaa, i forgot about that jmj 7" :)
Avatar 1:13pm Mary Wing:

Avatar 1:14pm Mary Wing:

Bryce would probably play The Gift, heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Bryce:

i'm too afraid to tackle a tribute mr. reed. but i will say, preemptively ducking, i could never figure out how metal machine music, of all things, became the yardstick for unlistenable listening.
  1:16pm Sammy:

Because it can be relentless, loud, unmelodic, not natural.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Bryce:

always thought it was kinda...pleasant!
  1:17pm Sammy:

Like being in a factory.
Avatar 1:17pm Cecile:

I think it was because people never heard Xenakis or the Hampton Grease Band (both of which I love). And he was a rocker venturing into modern classical which the knob-heads didn't get.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Bryce:

Avatar 1:18pm Cecile:

Dude, play the Gift!
  1:18pm Sammy:

You're like a genius Bryce, seriously.
Avatar 1:19pm Cecile:

or the 900 minute version of Venus in Furs off Peel Slowly and See (OK it was only over 15 minutes).
Avatar 1:19pm BigLankyGeordie:

Good work Mary, thanks! Another canny site selling it is www.boomkat.com where its a bit cheaper. ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Bryce:

  1:20pm Sammy:

OMG, I thought you were talking about a genre. I am sorry. I like that album.
Avatar 1:20pm BigLankyGeordie:

Come on Bryce, just for fun, let rip with one of Jean Michel Jarre's er, 'masterpieces'. Surely never heard on WFMU!!!!
Avatar 1:21pm Cecile:

BLG, I've known Clay Pigeon or Irene to pull them out if IRC.
Avatar 1:23pm doca:

@Cecile: I support you on your claim that Bryce must play Jean-Michel Jarre. In fact, I think that the listeners should stop pledging until WFMU plays one of his "masterpieces"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Webhamster Henry:

This sounds really nice for something without a name.
Avatar 1:24pm Cecile:

hoboooooooooooooooooooooo! JMJ and a hobo!
Avatar 1:26pm doca:

Not kidding now, I would love to pledge again and it breaks my heart to see that the station haven't made it to their (our) goal, but after my month pledge I would be broke to pledge again, considering my actual currency is worth only 0,4 dollars.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Bryce:

henry! long time noseeum
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Bryce:

doca, i have! albeit the weird thing they're referring to - "samuel hobo"

there was another super early 7" of his i really love....can't remember the name now....kinda heldony!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Webhamster Henry:

Well, summer is over, time for the noseeums to come inside and listen to Bryce.

Avatar 1:33pm zeer:

please - no hobo :D
Avatar 1:34pm Cecile:

you're hobophobic! :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Bryce:

Avatar 1:38pm BigLankyGeordie:

Shameful admission: I used to listen to JMJ - it was when I was 14 and one of few synth sounds around. I know there's no excuse though. Yes flame me, I deserve it! ;-)
Avatar 1:38pm Droll:

First Lou, then Hobo, next it'll be the Jandek-Ono duet of You Light Up My Life. They're all misunderstood artists. I say grab that Jandek-Ono C90 from the library while there's still enough airtime.
Avatar 1:38pm kirk from beer city usa:

I like this track. Reminds me of tintinnabulation.
Avatar 1:39pm Whosondephone:

Avatar 1:39pm Cecile:

I liked Equinoxe very much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Carmichael:

Here's a badly translated interview with the Hobo himself: en.jeanmicheljarre.es...
Avatar 1:41pm Cecile:

hahahah, Bryce you need to play laser harp with the Sinfonia this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Bryce:

hahaa! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Bryce:

holy shit, carmichael, i never came across that. thanks!
Avatar 1:42pm doca:

@Bryce: great video, it's like a suspense movie with a twist in the ending. I'll play it on the "incidental video art" festival me and a friend of mine are trying to realize
Avatar 1:42pm BigLankyGeordie:

Zoolook album really wasnt that bad actually. One track, Diva, was even, dare I say it, quite good!!!!
Avatar 1:46pm doca:

Avatar 1:47pm Cecile:

that is why you can never leave, rev.
Avatar 1:48pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Carmichael:

Just stumbled across it, Bryce. My pleasure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Bryce:

samuel hobo is not a hobo. :(
  1:50pm nic:

hey love this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Bryce:

hey, fascinoma!
Avatar 1:51pm doca:

I'm sure Bryce does the show selecting the tunes from a personal home-made laser harp thing, each laser chord is a different track number and the first two designate the album and the artist
Avatar 1:52pm Cecile:

damn, Bryce. I'm still gonna call him one, though.
Avatar 1:53pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Making up for lost time.
Digging the radioactive hell out of this Mich/etc jammy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Bryce:

(me too...shhh......)

hi, nic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Bryce:

"Did you tried to contact JARRE after your early collaborations? I can sure you that he remembers you as a great musician and a very good friend."

"Yes I tried to get in touch with him by the Facebook Network or MySpace , but the connection was impossible."
Avatar 1:54pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 1:55pm Cecile:

Bryce, I think we need a new episode of "VH1 - Bands Reunited." Golden opportunity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm Bryce:

and yet....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Bryce:

yeah, the VH1 one staff needs to be immediately replaced by the FMU comment gallery
Avatar 1:57pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'd kill for a "VH1 behind the music" on Sudden Infant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Webhamster Henry:

When the WFMU Performance space is ready, WFMU can be its own VH1.
Avatar 1:59pm Cecile:

It would be the awesomest network ever.
"Concert: Xenakis - Live!" followed by Ladies and Gentleman, the Fabulous Stains, and then a showing of Warhol's "Empire".
Avatar 1:59pm Cecile:

Not to mention Mark E. Smith's talk show, and old episodes of Hee-Haw.
Avatar 2:00pm Cecile:

and Benny Hill re-runs with the soundtrack of Metal Machine Music.
Avatar 2:02pm doca:

and a live performance of Morton Feldman's second string quartet as an introductory show to Warhol's Empire
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Webhamster Henry:

H.R. Puffinstuff run through an Abe video synth.
Avatar 2:03pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

The regular annual marathon would make an ideal reality show...
Avatar 2:03pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

as if it wasn't already.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm Carmichael:

Then we'd be forced to give time to Andy Breckman, who would present Andy's Komedy Klub every night.
Avatar 2:04pm doca:

The selection of the radio programs occupying the new or rearranged slots could be a Big Brother type of thing.
Avatar 2:04pm Cecile:

I can see you hosting a Sabado Gigante style program, Bryce.

Avatar 2:18pm the glowing one:

Hm, I wonder if it's inappropiate to play something from Lou Reed's wife for a change in support of her.
Avatar 2:27pm BigLankyGeordie:

The hope of hearing JMJ's fine melodies on WFMU has been enough to inspire me to make a theatre pledge right now! Hurrah for Jean and all who sail in him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Bryce:

Yikes! Which Jean album is this noisy baby from?
Avatar 2:42pm Droll:

doca, Wood glue -- totally: www.youtube.com...
Personally, I always try the car wash first. Automatic, of course, the spinning rotors with the foam tentacles clean most stuck food.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Webhamster Henry:

It will clean all the grooves off too. Maybe you don't want to do that.
Avatar 2:47pm doca:

@Droll: I'll definitely try to clean them with wood glue
