Jerry Reed has to be playing on this Carl Perkins track, too.
Sounds like Jerry, ya ...
The reason for the re-recording of popular rnb at the time might have been to get it played on white radio stations and sold by department stores so they could sell popular music that wasnt black.
ChooChoo - ATL:
"Phil Spector did a lot of takes . . . " Was Spector honing in on something in particular or looking at various possibilities of the music?
Suggestion: cut out "What year was that, Jonathan?" and use as bumper.
I wonder if guitarist Eric Rose is still around?
Ask about NRBQ !!!

Who is the fella with the new history of Stax?
Saturday, November 16th, 11am - 1pm: Robert Gordon author of "Respect Yourself: Stax Records and the Soul Explosion"
Michael chats with author Robert Gordon about his new book "Respect Yourself: Stax Records and the Soul Explosion" which chronicles the meteoric rise and tragic fall of the Memphis based Stax label.
Speaking of Jerry Reed, I heard a funny interview with McCartney the other day. He said he was recording "Sally G." in Nashville, and Reed was playing on the track. Paul told him he was thinking of going back on the road and Reed said, "Hell, if I was Paul McCartney, I'd just BUY the road!"
ChooChoo - ATL:
THX! - Publication Date: November 12, 2013.
There's just nothing like that Lyres tremelo rhythm track. And now a garage version of "Casting My Spell"? Michael, you know how to make my day.
