Avatar 3:09am

There's a kids store/boutique called Jambalaya on Atlantic Ave(Brooklyn). It got my hopes up for decent cuisine that is so lacking from Metro Tech.

Looms, You're usually around during my work day. I'm up late cleaning. The gf got some floor cleaner called 'Fabulosa', that has a lavender fragrance. I need to open the windows , but it's 43F/5C. I thought she hated 99 cent store crap, especially in espanol (she's mexican).
  3:15am
Michael and Birgit:

We also have coffee and some Bread with cheese...
Avatar 3:15am

M & B!!!! It's 1962 radio at the moment folks.

Avatar 3:18am

@ Bill Mac: I wish, it's a culinary desert around my office (downtown Brooklyn). If I walk 15 mins, there is an awesome Mom & dawta (SIC) Jamaican place, and a passable Vietnamese place on Atlantic Ave. I almost ran to the store when I saw 'Jambalaya' until I saw the lack of advertisement of edibles.
Avatar 3:20am
Looms:

Hi Michael & Birgit (I worked in Cologne for 6 months last century, loved the city).
NGH, don't catch a cold!

Avatar 3:33am
northguineahills:

@Brian: as you'd expect, that's one of the items I asked her to get. What can't fit in the suitcase, is being shipped northward. Quite astute, Brian in UK, you know I love my mezcal, and hard it is to find good mezcal stateside, even in NYC.
Avatar 3:34am

Grew up listening to a 50,000 watt, block programmed station: this show might have been heard Sunday evenings between 6 and 8. Long ago and far away.

Gaelic? Hey Jay!!!
Avatar 3:48am
northguineahills:

Just wen through a 1952 Alan Lomax recording of Scottish Gaelic (mostly vocal) recordings. The Irish Gaelic recordings sound Irish, but these Highland recordings almost sounded native American. Great stuff. research.culturalequity.org...

It was nice and warm/mild until our Wednesday night. Had to bring my rooftop/fire escape garden inside the last two nights. I think it will hover around 4C tonight, so, I won't have to do that chore tonight.

Here in Nova Scotia we have College devoted to the preservation of (Highlands) Gaelic. I'm pretty ignorant of the difference between that language and the Irish variant.
