Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Carmichael:

And attic fans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Brian in UK:

Hey Carmichael popped in from the poop deck for a peep?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Uncle Michael:

I'm more of a sealing fan.
Avatar 2:12pm duke:

Just in time for Desparados
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Brian in UK:

Lovin' the steel.
Avatar 2:16pm Parq:

Well howdy, saddle tramp. Have a set here, get'cherself a plate of these beans and listen to the old song about the lonesome wind. Um, wait ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Carmichael:

And you know what kind of wind blew around that bean-filled campfire ...

GP came from Waycross.
Avatar 2:22pm Parq:

Yes, you're right, I like it much better this time.

We're lost in Miller's Cave

Hello Friends
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Brian in UK:

Someone wrote earlier that it is forty years since GPs demise.
  2:28pm Andy S.:

Last set was the radio equivalent of sending a chimpanzee to steer the Starship Enterprise....
Avatar 2:36pm Ted Barron:

Uhh, Thanks? Good thing this isnt the Star Ship Enterprise.
  2:38pm Andy S.:

Talking about the engineering -- not the flawless musical selections, of course.
Avatar 2:41pm Ted Barron:

Yes I know. I think the cruise control needs servicing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Uncle Michael:

Ted needs to have a sit-down with his engineer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Carmichael:

No auto-tune or Neve desks in those days. More like cardboard box drums and a portable tape deck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Lt. Bonzo reporting for duty!
  2:52pm Andy S.:

Bill Coday! Saw him live with Denise LaSalle at South X Southwest in Austin TX, probably late '90s. Bill was great -- pretty sure he sang "Get Your Lie Straight!" Sadly, he died of a massive stroke in 2008.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm northguineahills:

Been enjoying the tunes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Carmichael:

Denise LaSalle is still around? Wow, impressive.
  2:56pm Andy S.:

Memphis soul set is killin' me! Albert King also covered "Breaking Up Somebody's Home," BTW.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Uncle Michael:

Gettin Hi on the Hi. Love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm northguineahills:

How have I yet to fave WFMU's favorite summer song?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar 4:02pm Parq:

Hmm. I remember that, back in the early 70s, the conventional wisdom was that the Self Portrait albums sucked. Ted's shows remind me not to trust conventional wisdom.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Uncle Michael:

Really enjoyed the whole mess today, Ted. Thanks!
Avatar 4:08pm Ted Barron:

Thanks! See you next time...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm pacific standard simon:

Ted, I am so sorry I was not able to be here today for your fill-in. You are right up there in my top 5 DJs, and I'm STILL pissed-off about your departure from Ichiban. I'll be playing the archive for all the little bakery gnomes at work. Cheers!
  10:24am kat330:

Sheesh, how sorry I am to have missed this show -- a great lookin' list of music, TB!
