Hi everyone! Brian in UK: YES! Harbourne Blue from Devon, England! Except I sold out, so I've got a new wheel on pre-order. Should be in in three weeks or so. Meanwhile, tomorrow I'm getting a new one in. Can't remember the name, but it's basically Gorgonzola Dolce made with goats' milk. mmm... Can't wait!

Avatar 10:51am Joe McG:

@Wendy: Thanks, Wendy. I wish I had some cheese to go with it.
Avatar 10:52am Brian in UK:

Avatar 10:53am Davee:

Joe - play some cheezy music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am Wendy del Formaggio:

Joe, if I could send you some cheese through the internets, I would.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am Mike East:

I had a delicious cambozola last week.
Good morning, all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am Wendy del Formaggio:

Brian in UK, as far as I know, Harbourne is the only goat blue coming out of the UK. It's hard making blue from goats' milk. Goats' milk is a tough medium to work with. It's much easier to make soft cheeses from it. Oh well.
Avatar 10:54am Brian in UK:

Wendy, Until last week I found this one in a large supermarket.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am fleep:

That's it! A 3D printer that prints cheese! Wendy, you're a genius. Call the VC guys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am Wendy del Formaggio:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am Wendy del Formaggio:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am Wendy del Formaggio:

This "Wake Up, Judy" song is creepy. "Wake up, Judy, it's time to be a woman." WTF?!? Wake up, Judy, your period has just started! Wake up, Judy, so I can take advantage of you! Oy vey, such a gem of a record.
Avatar 10:59am KP:

Brian! Didnt see you there. Yes, thanks. I meant to say hello on Bill Mac's show but my new daylight habits get in way. I'll send you an email but it seems to have a very American tilt. I thought it would be Stone Roses UK type stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am pacific standard simon:

What happened? Where am I? Who turned on the lights?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am Wendy del Formaggio:

Brian in UK, who knows what it really is. A lot of times "private label" aka grocery stores' own brands are simply cheeses made by established makers, and they slap the grocery stores' label on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am tim from champaign:

Wow, whose version came first, Lorraine Ellison or Terry Reid? I didn't think anyone could out belt Terry Reid. Great random pick, Joe!
Avatar 11:01am Brian in UK:

Wendy does this work.

Avatar 11:07am glenn:

all hat, no cheese?
Avatar 11:11am Brian in UK:

Wendy it is the cheese with unwanted fruit etc that I find pointless. Keep it simple. Get the basics right and you are flying.
Avatar 11:12am Brian in UK:

Wendy you ever tried Reggiano with a runny honey?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Wendy del Formaggio:

I am SO with you, Brian. A good cheese doesn't need anything added. If you want fruit and cheese, eat fruit alongside cheese. But cheese with all that bullshit added is just... well... bullshit! And overpriced.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am Wendy del Formaggio:

Runny honey? Is that supposed to be funny?
Haha. I've never had solid honey, dear.
But yes, I have, and it's such a good match. mmm!

Avatar 11:15am Brian in UK:

Wendy I meant as opposed to a set honey. The Italian Chestnut honey might be too strong but worth a try.
Avatar 11:15am Joe McG:

It's not mine, Wendy. It's for you guys, whatever you want to talk about is fine by me.
Avatar 11:18am Chris from DC:

This Gnod/White Hills is so good. It'll be road trip music for me in a bit.
Avatar 11:18am Cecile:

I think it's a thinner honey as opposed to a whipped one, or one that is more thick and sticky.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Wendy del Formaggio:

Brian, I never heard those terms before. Interesting! Ooh yeah, Italian Chestnut honey is waaay strong. But their mixed flowers honey is lovely.

From 1974, twenty years was 1994. 1994 was nineteen years ago, almost twenty. Where is the time going?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Mike Sin:

Seger fan checkin' in. What's it? His first six albums or so STILL out of print? In the '80s, "Ramblin' Gamblin'", "Mongrel" and "Seven" were all Capitol recs budget-line issues.
Avatar 11:39am glenn:

speaking of which, WHY exactly did the lone ranger use silver bullets? were there a lot of vampires hanging around the dakotas or wherever back in the day?
Avatar 11:39am Cecile:

Play Nutbush City Limits or Get out of Denver, Joe. Make some believers out of these people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am pacific standard simon:

Coincidentally, I'm listening to the sound of thunder in WA.
Avatar 11:40am Cecile:

I don't understand it, Mike.
Even if you walk away after Night Moves (which I did), there is still quality stuff there.
Avatar 11:40am Cecile:

in the early years, that is.
  11:41am Dean:

Just read Lester Bangs' comments on Bob Seger for the first time a couple nights ago. Prompts me to revisit some of the old LPs.

May 28 is Bob Seger Day in Michigan. Check it out: www.mlive.com...
Avatar 11:43am Joe McG:

@Ceclle: Maybe I'll hit up "Cross of Gold" at the end of the show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am DCE:

better Bob day than Ted day!

What DCE said just there.
Avatar 11:45am Cecile:

Thanks, Tim!

Dave Edmunds does a burnin' version of Get Out of Denver.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am pacific standard simon:

"2 + 2 = ?" is SUCH an annoying song title if you're trying to catalog your mp3s.
Avatar 11:48am Cecile:

Carm, he does!

and that great line: "you look just like a commie, and you might just be a man..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Mike Sin:

I often wonder what path Seger would have taken if he had his breakout success, but then Springsteen DIDN'T explode in the late '70s. It seemed Seger started writing to a post-Springsteen playbook after 1976 or so... Just my take.

Hush my darling, don't fear my darling, the lion's on the phone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am pacific standard simon:

I like Eddie and The Hot Rods' version of that. And The Winkies' version of "Long Song Comin'".
Avatar 11:50am Cecile:

Mike Sin, it is absolutely true. He was very influenced by Springsteen. I remember an interview way back in the day in Circus magazine where he talked about that.
Avatar 11:50am Rev. Turnip Druid:

This is oddly and unspeakably cool.
Avatar 11:50am Kurt Gottschalk:

fine, joe. i was just about to switch to some work-required listening and you have to put on a throat wrenched "wimoweh." i'll tell my editor to talk to you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am Carmichael:

Sounds like Jet Harris is backing these guys up.
Avatar 11:51am Joe McG:

@Carm: Probably!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am fleep:

Wiki sez: "Reid decides to use only silver bullets, to remind himself that life, too, is precious..." Shooting the bullets is the easy part, the hard part is digging them out and cleaning them off.
  11:54am wiki:

"The masked man decided to use bullets forged from the precious metal as a symbol of justice, law and order, and to remind himself and others that life, like silver, has value and is not to be wasted or thrown away."
