For some reason, I can't stop thinking of Uncle Jack (Martin Short) from Arrested Development.

Avatar 9:20am Joe McG:

Hey, all! I'm here to kill your dance fever. @glenn: I never got mc gasket before. A gasket is important to making the thing run, right? I'll take it!
Avatar 9:23am Brian in UK:

A gasket is the vital seal between two castings to stop any seepage or weeping. I think we had the latter in the last programme. You are just the job, Joe.
Avatar 9:23am glenn:

gaskets and bearings make the world go around. in a slightly elliptical fashion.

Barbara is now at peace with herself
Avatar 10:20am Joe McG:

@Erella: It's on a nice new comp of Norwegian Christian jazz from the group That's Why. I like it a lot, although Norwegian Christian jazz isn't exactly in heavy rotation. @Carmichael: Hey, Carm, welcome!

Avatar 10:48am Cecile:

Man, Greg Kihn is always pretty solid.
Avatar 10:49am northguineahills:

I've been hooked to grilled corn Mexican style. Take out most the silk, replace the husk and grill. Slather in mayo and lime juice, and top w/ a salty chili powder. Finally, sprinkle corjtija cheese.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am pacific standard simon:

@MattSpring - That would have gone down well with the country ribs I made last night.
Avatar 10:49am Brian in UK:

Cecile 'Z' is a great film of that time. Costa-Gavros, I think?

Joe I just got here during Greg Kihn, but i'm having fun....And i always thought "DC" meant washington dc in that song. (regarding the u.s.influence on ja policy.)

Joe McG -What Cecile said makes sense too...(I should know it in my head by now) So...Is this the excellent covers set?
Avatar 11:28am Jeff:

Even though it's in a completely different style, that bluegrass "I've Just Seen a Face" triggered a sudden recollection of those Big Daddy records in the early '80s (on Rhino, I think). Like the eponymous one and "Meanwhile...Back In The States".
Avatar 11:31am Brian in UK:

Think I have a cold coming on and I was bought some Jim Beam Rye for Fathers Day, hard to find over here as most people prefer the subtle shades of Scottish whisky. Might have to take a snifter or two later. Purely medicinal you understand.

@Brian in UK : is it good with gingerale?
Avatar 11:46am Dan B From Upstate:

Excellent set.

kim jong un is a REALLY bad boyfriend. news.nationalpost.com...
Avatar 11:50am Brian in UK:

trish I would not consider mixing it. Our Scottish friends do like to add a little water to their own whisky at times. Not my cup of tea so to speak.
My wife just made some wonderful Rhubarb & Vanilla jam as well as Rhubarb & Ginger jam.
Avatar 11:50am Erella:

Joe, I am really enjoying every single thing you've played. Thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am pacific standard simon:

My local tea & yarn shop sells marmalade made with Jameson -- tempting.
  11:52am trish:

@Brian : Both jams sound yum. I know a pear+ginger and strawberry+rhubarb. Those combos sound very tasty. Mm.
Avatar 11:52am Brian in UK:

@glenn '...his father made him break it off'. I love innuendo.
Avatar 11:52am Joe McG:

@Erella: Glad you tuned in, Erella. Next week, if I know me, the show will be totally different, but I hope you'll come back again.

Porn and bibles. A bad combination.
Avatar 11:54am Brian in UK:

@simon I am a bit of a purist regarding marmalade, just Seville oranges. Heaven sent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am pacific standard simon:

I dunno -- it's kind of tempting to paste in illustrations of all the fornications going on in those Gideons.
Avatar 11:55am Joe McG:

I hate to say it, but the wildflower marmalade from IKEA is pretty tasty.
Avatar 11:56am Brian in UK:

@trish root ginger is steeped in the rhubarb overnight, then removed and crystallised ginger added at the end.
Avatar 11:56am northguineahills:

Thanks Joe, brilliant!
Avatar 11:56am glenn:

as is their elderflower syrup.
Avatar 11:57am glenn:

everything else tastes like crap though, especially the billy bookcase.
Avatar 11:57am Cecile:

Is the blues a code for something else?
Avatar 11:57am Brian in UK:

Now elderflower cordial is wonderful, homemade ofcourse!!

I am an unashamed tinkerer in all things.

PB+J lunch bells ring in my stomach.
Avatar 11:58am Joe McG:

I'm about to hit the highway, friends. I hope you all have a great weekend, and thanks for listening!
Avatar 11:58am Brian in UK:

I made a nice stew with the leftover screws and bolts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am fleep:

Thanks, Joe! A fine start to the day.
Swag For Life Member 11:58am 12539:

Thanks, Joe.
Avatar 11:58am still b/p:

I gave a full jar of Apple Pie Jam away to the neighbors last week, and my mouth and I have lived in a mournful place ever since.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am pacific standard simon:

Thank you for waking me up in a good mood, Joe.
  11:59am trish:

Avatar 12:00pm Brian in UK:

Avatar 12:00pm Jeff:
