Too Much Information is the sober hangover after the digital party has run out of memes, apps and schemes. Host Benjamen Walker finds out that, in a world where everyone overshares the truth 140 characters at a time, telling tales might be the most honest thing to do.

Avatar 6:06pm Cecile:

He sounds fun. You're not a serial killer, are you Jim?
Avatar 6:07pm Cecile:

hahahahahahaha
Avatar 6:07pm Danne D:

Hiya Cecile :) This actually is an excerpt from last week. Presumably a build up for this week
Avatar 6:07pm Cecile:

aw, bummer.
Avatar 6:08pm northguineahills:

What if he's an amnesiac serial killer?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Matt from Springfield:

All right, glad there's a recording of the Andrea-Jim Poet date! :)

Hi there Danne, Cecile and everyone!
Avatar 6:09pm Cecile:

aw, the pop-up stream is down. I should be heading home anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Matt from Springfield:

@Danne: "...Andrea accepted a date by the poet Jim. But, little did she know that the suitor was actually the evil twin brother of Jim the Poet, who also stands to inherit the Dukedom of Kirkcaldy. BUT, not if the treacherous Earl of Grampian has his say! CAN Andrea keep safe, and not be weirded out by the time their coffee arrives? Stay tuned!..."
Avatar 6:11pm Danne D:

@cecile - try the main page
Avatar 6:13pm Danne D:

I think they are trying to do some sort of switch-over with the pop-up streeams. I noticed a broken link on the "archives calendar" for FXO today but the "most recent archives" on the front page went to a working link.

I'm on the live pop-up stream now. I used the front page.
Avatar 6:13pm Danne D:

(Side note off topic to Cecile - are you watching WhoDunnit? I was very sad to see the QuizGuy get bumped off) :( anyway we can tweet about that if you want :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm Matt from Springfield:

"Twin Peaks" is quite the FMU phenomenon; first amEdeo & Therese, now Jim.
Avatar 6:14pm Danne D:

"Not Enough Information" with Andrea Silenzi?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Matt from Springfield:

@Danne: Oh no, who bumped off the QuizGuy? I like QuizGentlemen!
Avatar 6:15pm Andrea:

@Danne D-- what do you want to know??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm Andrew Waterloo:

I had tubes in my ears when I was a kid. Needed them was pretty much def.
Avatar 6:18pm Danne D:

@Andrea - nothing. Was just playing off the show title as you mentioned that your editing pared down your part of the date. Innocent comment on my part :)
Avatar 6:18pm Danne D:

Sorry to make this any more uncomfortable than it may already be, Andrea.
Avatar 6:18pm Andrea:

This is the interview I am trying to book with a writer from Gawker: gawker.com...
Avatar 6:19pm Danne D:

I had the usual pleasant failure of an e-date this weekend. It was pleasant. It was a failure on my part. Rinse. Repeat.
Avatar 6:20pm Danne D:

@Andrea now that definitely looks like too much information!
Sorry I'm in hyper-comment mode today :(
Avatar 6:20pm northguineahills:

I had tubes in my ears as a kid, as well, due to a build up of fluid. I spent a summer having to wear earplugs when going into the pool or the beach.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm Matt from Springfield:

Don't worry, QuizGuy will have his day, sometime :)
Avatar 6:21pm Andrea:

Oh! It's OK Danne! You guys basically missed me telling Jim where I grew up, about annoying guys I've dated, and a really great story about a time I think a guy faked an orgasm with me... and then asked me to give his friend's band's CD to our music director.
Avatar 6:21pm Danne D:

@M_f_S A quasi-inside joke with Cecile from worlds elswehere
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm Ike:

I had a REALLY bad e-date recently. Unusually terrible, instead of just mediocre. We had all the chemistry you'd find between a dead fish and an oil slick.
Avatar 6:24pm Danne D:

@Andrea :) besides you had to fit this experience into an hour - or even less if you opt to take calls and the like. Totally understandable.

I at least rated as "not a disaster" this weekend which sounds above average but not good enough. Shrug.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Matt from Springfield:

Oh well, best o' luck anyways, Danne.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm Andrew Waterloo:

@northguineahills I remember the ear plugs and cotton too.
Avatar 6:25pm Andrea:

It's a good date, right??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm Matt from Springfield:

Thirteen Times An Hour.
Avatar 6:27pm northguineahills:

Thank god I don't have to date any more, weird I found my fiance outside of NYC, and NY state, and the US. (at least it was the same continent).
Avatar 6:27pm Danne D:

Thx Matt. My polyglot interests I think get in my own way most of the time. Seems like folks are able to zone in on the non-appealing thing. Favorite along those lines was the e-date that turned up their nose at NASCAR but mentioned the time she went to a polo match and they tamp down the field with their shoes between chukkers. Wearing fancy clothes and stomping on shit, okay :)

That's more than enough sharing on my part, TBH.

@Andrea I'm not really qualified to judge good dates to be honest. It's what you think that matters anyway :)
Avatar 6:28pm Danne D:

@ngh a lot of replies to me online seem to be outside of NJ and the US and are based in Eastern Europe, like the Ukraine...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Matt from Springfield:

That seems a reference to Kenny G's "reading the fifth hour of 9/11 broadcasts" show:
wfmu.org...
Avatar 6:30pm northguineahills:

I got lucky, I friended a friend of a friend on myspace 7 years ago, and I ended up djing in Monterrey, Mexico, convinced her to visit me in nyc, and later to go to grad school in NYC.
Avatar 6:31pm northguineahills:

I think Colbert actually did Kenny G's book, but his character made him play the devils advocate and the audience just worship whatever his character says.
Avatar 6:32pm Andrea:

That's right about Kenny G on Colbert. Jim also has a mini-satire of Kenny G going on his tumblr right now.... it reads as very bitter to me though: conceptualpoetry.tumblr.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Andrew Waterloo:

I am going through very dry period in terms of meeting people. Wish I was better at taking it to another level back then.
Avatar 6:33pm Danne D:

Colbert did Kenny G's book. Thanks for the reminder - I want to pick that up.
Avatar 6:34pm Danne D:

Jim's blog reminds me a bit of the Ted Nancy books.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Ike:

I agree that you don't need to give everybody a chance. I sure don't.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Andrew Waterloo:

I find Colbert is too much about his character now a days. He used to get a lot more out of an interview than the same jokes about his ego over and over again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm Ike:

I think Colbert's show is still brilliant despite some repetition in jokes about his character's ego.
Avatar 6:39pm Danne D:

(This part of the date is a rerun of many a date I've been on)
Avatar 6:39pm northguineahills:

I've hooked up w/ many of my female friends (years ago), and I'm still friends w/ most of them, and I've been in a monogamous relationship for over 6 years. When you meet good, honest, intelligent, and talented people, it pays to make the friendship work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Matt from Springfield:

Agree, Ike. Only so many variations you can do over the years.
Avatar 6:40pm Danne D:

I do give kudos to Andrea for being clear. Being clear is the best way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Andrew Waterloo:

I agree.. I've had a lot of relationships that I didn't think much of because they were mostly online and I really regret not maintaining them.
Avatar 6:41pm Danne D:

I can see Colbert being inclined to revert to character when confronted with a guest like Kenny G
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Matt from Springfield:

Yay, amicable ending!
Avatar 6:42pm northguineahills:

And all of the girls I've dated where they were honest w/ me the whole time, I'm still friends w/.

And, yes, I dig Jim the Poet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm Matt from Springfield:

Good evenin', Grandma Phyllis! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Matt from Springfield:

Gotta pay the rent--I'm still scanning the classifieds for poet positions with a decent salary...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Andrew Waterloo:

Paying the rent is the reason I'm so boring.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Grandma Phyllis!

I sharpling'd her! I had no choice!
Avatar 6:54pm northguineahills:

I went to Hilton Head w/ my family when I was 15. The only thing to do w/ my father was to play golf (which haven't played in years) and eat seafood).
Avatar 6:55pm quinn:

i love hearing andrea on the radio!
Avatar 6:55pm Danne D:

I imagine your dad having a younger 2nd wife, presumably closer in age to you, probably didn't do Jim the Poet any favorites. I could be totally off base with this thought.

@quinn I agree, Andrea is great :)
Avatar 6:56pm Danne D:

Whoa. That's an unexpected twist.
Avatar 6:57pm northguineahills:

Thanks Andrea, this was super fun! Keep the good fun up!
Avatar 6:58pm Danne D:

Thanks for an interesting show Andrea :)
Have a good night, folks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Sigurdur:

dd hi... Hi DD
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Hooray for calling them "prawns" instead of "jumbo shrimp", that's their real name!

(Though in South and East Hemisphere English they say "prawn" even for "shrimp")
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm Sigurdur:

lingoustine
  6:59pm Fredericks:

This is fun, Andrea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Andrea! Have a good night everyone!
Avatar 7:00pm northguineahills:

Prawns and Shrimp are synonyms..

hahahaha! I should have stuck w/ a kazoo.
Avatar 7:00pm Andrea:

Sorry I sound so sad! That's my 2010 radio voice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Andrew Waterloo:

I used to have the same issue going home and visiting my family. My brother actually came to visit the day I got home this year and didn't even say hello to me. Just got some free food and left.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm Matt from Springfield:

@NGH: Though prawns are larger.
