Oh Snakefinger, I miss you so much...
Avatar 3:19pm hamburger:

thursday's failure is the best antidote for a bad day / thank you wfmu
Avatar 3:21pm Cheri Pi:

For real!
Avatar 3:22pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Finding that Fingerprince vinyl re-issue was a definite highlight of last year. I had no idea that stuff was being re-pressed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm tim from champaign:

Excellent start, Fabio. I love when Fabio follows up Mr. Giant Man with a classic rock cut.
  3:25pm Peach tree:

yess, not available is such an insane trip
Avatar 3:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

......and this one.
Avatar 3:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I stopped paying attention at The King & I, but fully adore this era...
Avatar 3:25pm Cheri Pi:

ditto.
Avatar 3:26pm Cheri Pi:

flashbacks.
  3:26pm Fern:

One of my favorite Residents records. Thanks for playing this!
  3:27pm Peach tree:

A token diamond rrrinnng
Avatar 3:29pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Naming my first twelve children Walter Westinghouse.
  3:32pm jeanne:

Yay The Residents!!!
  3:38pm common:

love the who on the rock n roll circus!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm tim from champaign:

Is there any truth to Rock'n'roll Circus going unreleased because the Stones felt the Who blew them away?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm braveness23:

B23 here!
Avatar 3:48pm Bilk Linton:

ok... surprisingly, this is starting to scare me.. i hear this in a nightmare once. i was on another planet waist deep in purple seaweed to the horizon..
Avatar 3:49pm Padg:

I've fallen and I cant get up.
  3:50pm two wealthy courtesans:

we have now experienced liftoff!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm braveness23:

Man, I just can't get any breaks this summer to listen to WFMU whilst I work. I miss it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Carmichael:

Heya Fabulous-o. Hey there Thursday devotees.
Avatar 3:54pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

purple seaweed is NOT to be trusted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm Carmichael:

Ya, its probably been stepped on, man.
  3:55pm Gail:

yay! Police and Thieves....I love that song! thanks for making me get up and dance...even if it is almost way past my bedtime :-)
  3:57pm Cecile:

I think I have a DVD of Rock 'n' Roll Circus. I think it was Allen Klein managment that tied everything up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The Failure of the Polar Ice Caps
Avatar 3:59pm Cecile:

no, I guess Bill Wyman says that Jagger didn't want to come out because he was unhappy with his own performance - not the rest of the band's. Helps to look things up.
Avatar 4:00pm Cecile:

so, yeah, Tim there seems to be a grain of truth to that.
Avatar 4:02pm Loren:

Ah man, an hour into Failure, shoot... how is the day working for y'all?
Avatar 4:08pm ottovonbqe:

Film is dead, but we'll always have the animated GIF.
Avatar 4:08pm Chris from DC:

Much better with some Thuja, Loren. Before that, not so great.
Avatar 4:10pm Loren:

I see film making a come back... how portable is vinyl... also, if you were to make vinyl mobile, it is to provide context to a social gathering... film will be back once we get tired of ebing alone.
Avatar 4:10pm Loren:

@Chris - me or Loren Chasse?
  4:11pm stefan:

Hey Fabio, which was the movie at Film Forum you were recommending?
Avatar 4:12pm Chris from DC:

You, but good point.
Avatar 4:15pm hamburger:

fabio wins drones wars hands down
Avatar 4:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

dig
Avatar 4:16pm Cheri Pi:

@stefan, I live in Fear by Akira Kurosawa?
Avatar 4:16pm Cheri Pi:

This.
Avatar 4:16pm Loren:

Well, why not so good before the Thuja? Are you stuck in a cubicle, pondering your worth, wondering why you are making a calculated choice, if only to be disappointed everytime you think about constraints of alternatives and the lost fantasy that never was? Smegma does that to me sometimes.
Avatar 4:18pm hamburger:

@Loren: when this happens, all 'those' questions go away~~!
  4:19pm revroth:

stefan, I believe Fabio was recommending THE SERVANT
Avatar 4:19pm Chris from DC:

Yeah, pretty much Loren. But the drones really help.
  4:22pm stefan:

@revroth Thanks; I was out of the room, but I always appreciate hearing Fabio's recommendations
Avatar 4:24pm northguineahills:

Man, I missed Thuja!
Avatar 4:24pm Cheri Pi:

Phone-drone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Carmichael:

Bryce could give Fabio a run for his drone money.
Avatar 4:36pm Loren:

Jesus, Fabio... someone put hallucinogens in your corn flakes or what!? My brain is dripping all over the keyboard.
Avatar 4:38pm Cheri Pi:

Drone-wars.
Avatar 4:38pm Cecile:

hola, all!
Avatar 4:39pm hamburger:

I'd say the opposite Carmichael, probably said before, but I find Bryce's show too inaccessible(!) - but that's my problem / / that said, time of day, wonder if switching time zones would also switch opinion
Avatar 4:40pm Cecile:

hamburger, I do like Bryce's show, but Fabio's commentary and secret love of pop draw me in a little more.
Avatar 4:41pm Loren:

Ah, Bryce does not work the radio magic like Fabio... he digs out some sublime drones, but he comes from the camp that says, "play the piece start to finish the way it was intended." In their entirety, they do some wonderful things. Fabio sometimes layers the goodies into a cerebral stew that somehow personifies the music... at the end of the day, both of these guys bring it. I like both forms.
Avatar 4:41pm Cecile:

And yeah, it's easier to listen to Bryce at noon, when you are well-rested and awake. His comments board is hilarious and insane.
Avatar 4:41pm Cecile:

what Loren said.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm I X Key!:

This H3O is so beautiful! I love Mr. McKenzie
  4:42pm Two Wealthy Courtesans:

After initial liftoff, we are continuing our journey through the Stratosphere, thanks to you, Fabio!
Avatar 4:42pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Bryce board = food.
Fabio board = beersies.
Avatar 4:43pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

All you need to know.
Avatar 4:43pm Chris from DC:

Did someone say beersies?
  4:44pm ?:

hello, friends. it's been a long time since I could listen. Nice to be here today.
Avatar 4:46pm hamburger:

so I guess the lesson of the day is, no drone wars, because, yes, beersies.
Avatar 4:47pm Loren:

@ Rev. - ...and those two things, well, they go great together...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Carmichael:

Actually, that's a fine point. I listen to Bryce while hungry for lunch. I listen to Fabio just after my midday luncheon.

And I was originally referring only to droning, not the entire show contents. Maybe we should have a drone-off.
Avatar 4:49pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

aye to that, Loren.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm I X Key!:

Kill tthe Kinv I remember that from then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Carmichael:

The word "beersies" should only be followed or preceded by the word "yes".
Avatar 4:52pm Cecile:

carm, that would be amazing. The Drone throwdown!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm I X Key!:

! lovely label !
Avatar 4:53pm Loren:

I've tried to back down from IPA's, but everywhere I go they are getting more and more out of control. Thus, I'm out of control... everywhere I go.

What beer do you drink in your neck of the woods?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm steve:

hey all, i like beer and food
Avatar 4:53pm Loren:

@Cecile - ...with Clay officiating?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Carmichael:

Loren, it's Firkin Night tonite, speaking of IPAs. I'll be there with bells, uhh ... *buzz* on.
Avatar 4:57pm Loren:

@Carm - Finally, I will be looking for the person with bells... that narrows it down to you and that other guy. I have to drive out to Davis, so I may have to hit up The Beer Shoppe for a hoppy nightcap.
Avatar 4:59pm hamburger:

well, I know who my money's on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Carmichael:

If Clay officiates, the winner will be that Winger song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm I X Key!:

Hey WFMU the best place for beer in Burlington, VT is the One Pepper Grill!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm I X Key!:

imo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm I X Key!:

I love this music this music this is my favorite

This is what I want
Avatar 5:04pm hamburger:

this might be sacrilege but I played a spoken poem of 'if' on youtube and it kind of goes quite well with this
Avatar 5:06pm Chris from DC:

Wow, this.
Avatar 5:07pm Cecile:

Loren, why not? That would also be funny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Carmichael:

Fabio rises to the drone challenge!

Hey I X, One Pepper Grill looks pretty good. And they have Green Flash IPA, one of my faves!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Carmichael:

Drone = Bagpipes.
Avatar 5:21pm Loren:

I can feel the drone-geek resentment if Clay snidely narrates over some Andrew Chalk... maybe WFMU should have a week with DJ mash-ups... like fundraiser, but a cage match with brass knuckles, I mean turntables... maybe with an image of the two DJs becoming one, like those Conan pics of celeb babies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Carmichael:

Perhaps Ken could bring in special guest drone referee Kenny G.
Avatar 5:27pm hamburger:

a drone off seems a bit of a logistical nightmare, I mean, we're talking frame sets, build ups, state of mind, tone of voice / i do like the idea though
Avatar 5:28pm Cecile:

bryce gets one channel, fabio the other.
Avatar 5:30pm hamburger:

wow, that's sorted! so simple too!
Avatar 5:31pm Loren:

@Cecile - Brilliant! "One drone to rule them all!" Oh dear, I said that.
Avatar 5:33pm Loren:

Shhh.... we can't let Fabio know what we were tlaking about.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Carmichael:

He never looks over here.
Avatar 5:34pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

hell, Cecile: I love the channel-vs-channel idea. Particularly for us who can double-stream with time-delay (mp3 + flash or something) ... brains would fry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm steve:

dam, id love for that to happen Cecile!
Avatar 5:35pm Cecile:

I know, right?
Avatar 5:36pm Loren:

Why do flashbacks come with indigestion?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Carmichael:

Steve, what will your cat do with its remaining 2 ears?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm steve:

i have an ipad, iphone, android phone and tablet all with the fmu app, and two computers. she'll be fine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm steve:

i suppose she could listen to ubu stream and radio borecast
Avatar 5:45pm northguineahills:

La Drapeau Noir, fun shit!
  5:48pm Night Al:

Serenity NOW!
Avatar 5:49pm Loren:

Cheers, Fabio! Great show!
Avatar 5:51pm northguineahills:

I meant the Dreamies.
Avatar 5:51pm slugluv1313:

Nick Drake <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Carmichael:

Gotta love the Drake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Carmichael:

It was the American guy who founded the UFO club and managed Fairport Convention, Joe what's his name.
  5:54pm unhelpful:

OK, that guy who comes on after you just started talking, which always ruins the nice mellow Fabio show. Turning off WFMU and switching to my own music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Carmichael:

Joe Boyd was his champion.
Avatar 5:55pm Night Al:

I think the sun is hotter these days...
Avatar 5:56pm northguineahills:

It was 99F/37C here in Brooklyn.
Avatar 5:57pm Night Al:

WOW! You New Yawkers ain't equipped for that kinda heat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Bas NL:

Great selection tonight! Thanks Fabio!
Avatar 5:57pm Cecile:

we didn't have Carvel in Michigan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Ike:

Carvel is surprisingly good. A friend in Brooklyn dragged me to one recently. I had never been. I figured it was just another crappy chain. Nope, it's really good stuff.
Avatar 5:58pm Cecile:

Good Humor had the strawberry shortcake bar.
Avatar 5:59pm Loren:

They did a Coneheads promo at Subway when the movie came out....
Avatar 5:59pm Night Al:

generic fudgecicles for me as a kid...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Tome:

The Carvel Pistachio ,, Green Syrup man ... OooOOooooOO never got a taste of the staight ,,,,,,,,,
Avatar 6:00pm Loren:

with prodcut placement during a chris farley scene...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Tome:

pretty tame Fab I've had "words" with them too probably in that same Mall in bklyn.... besides almost putting out someone's lights a the time at Alexanders to put it lightly...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Ike:

Good show, Fabio!
