Good Morning! Pouring the coffee....NOW!
Avatar 3:10am Bill Mac:

Hey hey! I gots my libation!!!
Avatar 3:10am Bill Mac:

Actually is that Jimmy Durante giving the trim?
Avatar 3:11am Andy in Berlin:

Yes! They used to be a comedy team and made a bunch of shorts together.
Avatar 3:14am Bill Mac:

Who's the guy sporting the fade?
  3:15am Emile:

Morning, Mac Men and Women. That Salvia Plath thing was awesome.
Avatar 3:17am Bill Mac:

So glad you liked it. I think I played it by accident. Figures. The best laid plans...
Avatar 3:19am Andy in Berlin:

"sporting the fade"? I never heard that one before. But if by that you mean who's getting the haircut, it's Buster Keaton, who was on the way down as Durante was on the way up. They were paired in a series of short for Columbia I think.
Avatar 3:26am Bill Mac:

Wow i didn't recognize Buster without the trademark porkpie. BTW, given my vast knowledge of black hairstyles, the fade was in vogue during the early 80's. Kinda like a flat top.
Avatar 3:27am Steve R:

This fine piece of American culture came from The Passionate Plumber
Avatar 3:27am Jay/London:

good morning Bill am up with the sun ... saw a band the other day called Hat Fitz and Cara .. heres a link www.youtube.com...
  3:27am Emile:

Not to be confused with shouting 'someone fade me', as Stubby Kaye / Nicely Nicely does at one point in Guys and Dolls
Avatar 3:28am jocoseballerina:

this mix i am loving is completely pleasing me man
Avatar 3:29am Bill Mac:

Thanks JB, what up Jay and Steve!
Avatar 3:31am Bill Mac:

@Steve So The Passionate Plumber was a talkie. Keaton was still in films into the 60s, but he couldn't make the jump into talkies
Avatar 3:34am Jay/London:

well bill we just got our summer been in the upper 20s c today gona hit 32c or more so will be going out after your show .. i like the picture you put up but any reason you put it up ?
Avatar 3:39am Brian in UK:

Hey Bill y amigos.
Jay, freeform means there are no reasons.
Avatar 3:41am Brian in UK:

Dead right, Bill with e.e. Right in vogue these days.
Avatar 3:41am Jay/London:

hey Brian i reason you are right about that !
Avatar 3:42am Brian in UK:

Hey Jay hot enough for yer.
Avatar 3:43am Brian in UK:

Ted Milton was Blurt!!
Avatar 3:44am Brian in UK:

Did he have those enormous hands you could wear that pointed?
Avatar 3:45am Jay/London:

Brian it's just nice right temp to go on the heath and see a band or fly a kite ... I reason
Avatar 3:47am Negative Eclipse:

  3:49am M:

Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats was by T. S. Eliot
Avatar 3:49am Bill Mac:

@Brian, No big hands sorry to say. The Eclipse say Shoshone
Avatar 3:50am Steve R:

The film was not so bad and he had a nice baritone voice but personal misfortune at the end of a long career was the real culprit.

Avatar 3:50am Bill Mac:

Yep there we go.... wrong agayn - although it's poetry - really doesn't count...
Avatar 3:52am Brian in UK:

D'you see Durante's got his fingers in the sissors, think he is concentrating on cutting off his middle dexter than the hair.
Avatar 3:53am Brian in UK:

Apologies it would be the dexter if it was the right hand, hence the word dextrous.
Avatar 3:56am Bill Mac:

No worries Brian, the dextrous reference would've gone right over my head.
  3:58am Martyn:

Sinister isn't it!

Morning all.
Avatar 3:59am Brian in UK:

Hello Martyn, is Oban sparkling?
Avatar 4:00am Bill Mac:

Boogie boogie boogie! Hi Martyn!
  4:01am Martyn:

Hi Brian, not today, no. And hi Bill.
Avatar 4:03am Brian in UK:

there seems to be an increaing fashion for .gifs at the top of the page (i know ken goes totally overboard) i find them disturbing sometimes. like a still like this though. thanks, bill
Avatar 4:06am Brian in UK:

Did they become the nips?
Avatar 4:21am Andy in Berlin:

Hey this Kramer thing is pretty good!
Avatar 4:22am Brian in UK:

Avatar 4:54am Jay/London:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54am Stanley:

Late to the scene, this morning.
But ready willing and able.
Hello Bill and good listeners.
Avatar 4:55am Brian in UK:

steve r just read neil's biography which threatens to turn into several volumes, no surprise there. he seems like a decent chap compared to some of his colleagues. he seems to be on the seach for quality sound and who can blame him also fuel consumption. out of the blue and into the black my my hey hey.
Avatar 4:55am Bill Mac:

Check the vid link out Jay. Pretty great. Stanley!
Avatar 4:56am Brian in UK:

hey stanley are you sagging today?
Avatar 4:57am Andy in Berlin:

I seem to remember Neil Young turned into a conservative. Though as a Canadian I guess he's not our problem. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59am Stanley:

Man, its been so hot for us Northerners. We ain't used to it. Today threatens another rocker.
Avatar 5:01am Brian in UK:

andy that was a misreporting as far as i can gather. reporters ask dumb questions and he gave dumb answers. his desire for material things eg cars was a kind of disappointment but hell bob dylan was never the leader of a revolution as some hoped for.
Avatar 5:01am Jay/London:

@ Stanley you will get used to the heat, just enjoy it they say it should go on for two more weeks or more !!!!
Avatar 5:06am Andy in Berlin:

@Brian - I think what I heard had more to do with Reagan and guns. But that was a while ago. Hopefully he grew out of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10am Stanley:

That was mellow. I like mellow
Avatar 5:11am Bill Mac:

It's good sometimes... unfortunately it doesn't last that long.
Avatar 5:12am Brian in UK:

andy it was reagan but as you say long gone. he went straight two years ago no blow or booze, seems to have survived. the solos are getting longer with the horse! he records everything including live so the archive is immense.
Avatar 5:14am Brian in UK:

produced by the vile jonathan king.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17am Stanley:

(never liked Genesis. Peter Gabriel was always a bit of a poser)
Avatar 5:21am Brian in UK:

anyone game
Avatar 5:22am Bill Mac:

I liked Genesis! I found them less pretentious than other like minded bands from that era. Their concepts were pretty cool and the band was more jammy and less wheedly than ELP or Yes. I know someone here is an avowed hater of Rick Wakeman.
  5:22am Emile:

Cool track
Avatar 5:26am Brian in UK:

avowed hater, that is strong stuff. he is a funny chap when you here him talk. got any comedy, bill?
Avatar 5:28am Bill Mac:

Who, Rick or me? That was a pretty horribly shaped sentence - there I go blurtin stuff out again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32am Stanley:

Sister Mary Elephant!!!
Avatar 5:33am Brian in UK:

dont know if i am cummings or goings today, link keeps breaking down.
nice one, bill.
Avatar 5:33am Brian in UK:

it's dave.
who is it?
Avatar 5:34am Andy in Berlin:

@ Brian - Dave's not here!
Avatar 5:35am Brian in UK:

who is it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41am Stanley:

Me and my pals used to know Big Bambu word for word back when we'd stay up all night.
Avatar 5:44am Brian in UK:

Avatar 5:46am Bill Mac:

@Stanley That must've been a riot...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am Stanley:

Avatar 5:47am Bill Mac:
