As DK says it was a pretty cool experience when I saw them a few years ago for experience reasons. If Joe Retta is still singing he's got some great stories under his belt. Seems he was at one time being considered for a position in the Dio Disciples.

A couple of recent Michigan items: Some Ohio State sports fan had a cancerous tumor and he named it Michigan and the tumor went away (I assume he had some medicine that helped get that tumor). And some joker who said he was from Michigan was adding inane comments to Meghan's show this morning.

Diane Kamikaze:

@coe: Joe Retta not singing. Seemed like someone new - who reminded me of a cross between Coverdale and John Sykes...and was from NJ. I don't know his name but he sang with Bonham for some time AND in my brother's cover band in the 70's: Middle Earth... aaaak! I have to say since we're all "friends" here.. :) I hated the drummer for the Sweet. He was speeding up and slowing down and it drove me out of my mind. Their meter was a tad bit off for every song. The singer was good, but had a music stand and was reading lyrics for every song. Obviously a new acquisition. Their harmonies were good, not much in the way of band togetherness, but that drummer was on his own, never checked in with anyone in the band.. ugh. But they really were OK... and yeah, just OK. OK! :)

Gilman was no stranger to violence. Somebody wrecked Jello Biafra's knee there. But I can't really think of many incidents.

That is maybe explained by the subsequent popularity of Rancid.

1995 I was working for a major record store when Out Come the Wolves/Ruby Soho we would play Op Ivy in the store in the mall. We would be doing double digit special orders of Op Ivy every week as our store ownership didn't see a reason to stock it even though we begged them to.
