Droll: 74° constitutes NW copping a break?
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 9:54pm Droll:

Fabio has entire show about that... Worse, I've never heard an LP or CD skip before, so that was very shocking! Who knew?! Cassette and 8-track and MiniDisc never do that!
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 9:56pm Droll:

I think you forgot NYX. What's up with the WNYX Montgomery? Is that W220DQ?
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 9:57pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Droll: Yeah, I did. I thought I had the info right here but I didn't. Forgot the frequency.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:05pm Mike East:

right on. man
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:06pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- Wayne Shorter.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:08pm Droll:

DM, Since you blew the legal ID you may as well screw the pooch and put on some prog.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:08pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Lee Morgan – trumpet
Wayne Shorter – tenor sax
Herbie Hancock – piano
Grant Green – guitar
Reggie Workman – bass
Billy Higgins – drums
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:12pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...so it's like - 2/5ths of MilesQuintet, Reggie, Ornette's drummer
- & in 1964 they want to sound like the TraneQuartet.
: )
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:14pm Dave Mandl:

@Droll: I just might do that.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:14pm Dave Mandl:

But bestiality is strictly forbidden here in the studio.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:15pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- quite a damned band! What can you say...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:23pm Droll:

DM, I double-dog dare you to play some prog -- why not just go over the 2% rock limit while you're at it!

...I'll bet you can't do it.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:26pm Dave Mandl:

@Droll: Hahaha. Want to hear the entire Side One of "Frampton's Camel"?
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:27pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I double-prog dare you to pooch the limit!
...When they said the Climate would change - I didn't understand my brain was gonna melt...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:29pm Droll:

Frampton? That escalated quickly!

Joey's Camel (Godley & Creme) would actually fit the show without risking prog or rock.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:30pm pacific standard simon:

@Droll - REALLY? I live on Bainbridge Island -- I should look him up!

Hey, Dave, & Monica fans -- back from feeding the starving masses...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:32pm Dave Mandl:

Hey there, PSS.
  Sun. 7/7/13 10:33pm 12539:

Start the Rock Counter...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:33pm Dave Mandl:

@Droll: Actually early Frampton, which is generally not bad. The guy was in Humble Pie, after all.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:36pm Mike East:

wow. I've honestly only ever heard that one song off this Free album
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:38pm pacific standard simon:

Frampton's duet with Chris Spedding on the Monk tune "Work" (from the Hal Wilner tribute) was totally knockout! I'd be a big fan if I could find more Frampton stuff like that.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:38pm Dave Mandl:

At their best they were very good (Free). Paul Kosoff was an outstanding guitarist. Died much too young.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:39pm Droll:

DM's ready to thrown down the gauntlet. Frampton also played on the disco Sgt. Peppers, so cool/huh? conservation is maintained.

PSS, I've heard that about Frisell and Wikipedia concurs, but it doesn't translate into more local shows. Maybe you'll see him at the T&C or Safeway someday? I used to live on Bainbridge back when there were 3 ferries an hour. Not sure how folks do it nowadays.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:42pm Mike East:

I'll check them out, DM. I totally ripped them off with a song I wrote called "She's Ok (and I'm alright)"
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:43pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Humble Pie!
...Sidenote!: Frampton's dad was a school art teacher who encouraged the young Bowie to maybe pursue creativity...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:44pm pacific standard simon:

Three ferries an hour?! Please excuse my skepticism. Bainbridge is more of a Seattle suburb now than it ever has been before, and the only times it could support even two ferries an hour would be morning and evening rush hours.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:47pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...VacuumTreeHead like a modest 3-way wreck w/ WasNotWas, PereUbu & TeardropExplodes

...again - it's the heat...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:48pm Dave Mandl:

RRN63: Not to be confused with the well-known architecture critic Kenneth Frampton, who I don't think is related.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:51pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...no - but I hear if you get him going on PostModernism - he really Comes Alive...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:51pm pacific standard simon:

A cool, damp washcloth across the forehead works wonders.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 10:58pm pacific standard simon:

I vaguely recall an interview with a male member of Sadistic Mika who claimed that the band was named after his girlfriend.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:00pm Droll:

Email has gone the way of Telex? What do people use now?
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:00pm Blacktooth:

What? Telex is outdated?
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:01pm tomB:

At the Archive sale, two guys were looking in the F bin, and one asks the other, "Hey what band was Frampton in before he went solo?" The other has no idea, so I imposed myself, and said, "Oh, you mean The Herd" He looked at me like I was on drugs.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:02pm Droll:

PSS, The ferries used to be subsidized by the state HW department like a bridge, public opinion about that changed and they nixed the third boat in 1999 or so. There was also a housing cap at the time, it was a different place.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:02pm Dave Mandl:

@Droll: Slight exaggeration, but social media is probably more popular for casual conversation these days. Facebook, Twitter...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:03pm pacific standard simon:

United States of America? You Tube is your friend!

Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:04pm Droll:

I'm ready for the Facebook fad to end: Why is it bad when the government collects metadata about your communications but a great idea when Facebook actually listens in on the conversation?
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:04pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...what they actually Herd :
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:05pm fleep:

Dave, I followed your tweet on the FMU splash page about Anagramatron, as well as the crazee Japanese TV ads. The anagram pairings are sometimes striking and eerie.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:06pm Dave Mandl:

@Droll: I'm no fan of FB at all. FB *and * the government are listening.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:09pm pacific standard simon:

Hmm. Anyway, how we handle it: my present job search is limited to Seattle downtown, SODO, Capitol Hill, Belltown, South of Lake Union, and MAYBE Queen Anne. And the Island itself, of course.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:09pm Dave L.B. is Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Game: Who would you compare U.S.ofA. (band) to, & how?
- Ultimate Spinach? Airplane? Velvets?
- No guitar! Silver Apples? (Nah.)
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:09pm Dave Mandl:

@fleep: That site is just brilliant. For the rest of you: It's a Tumblr by someone who finds pairs of tweets that are exact anagrams of each other.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:09pm Dave Mandl:

Half of the Firesign Theatre moved to Whidbey Island, Austin moved to Fox Island, and only Proctor stayed in Los Angeles. They used to perform in the region at least once a year until Bergman died.

- saw FT Live but once.
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:20pm Droll:

Anagramatron almost makes Twitter fun again! I wonder if there are anagram band/album/song pairings. That seems much harder to figure out than simple Trifectas: rotang.com...
Avatar Sun. 7/7/13 11:22pm pacific standard simon:

I saw Frank Ferrante do his Groucho Marx one-man (with piano player) show in Seattle last month. It was the nuts, the berries, the bee's knees! If you get a chance...
