Listener comments!

  3:09am Martyn:

Good morning Bill and all.

Great start to the show ... there's nothing like a bit of Steve Reich in the morning (or any other time).
Avatar 3:15am Bill Mac:

Hey Martyn, a little glorious repetition in the morning never hurt anybody. Greetings all!
Avatar 3:18am w41:

Good morning Bill, Martyn, and everybody!
Avatar 3:20am Bill Mac:

Double U, hows things?
Avatar 3:22am w41:

Everything's perfect! I'm an M.Sc. Computer Science now, and it seems that 3 weeks of celebrating this fact are coming to an end... :)
Avatar 3:27am Bill Mac:

Congrats, Guess it's time to work full time now eh?
Avatar 3:32am w41:

Thanks, Bill! Yes, it is, I guess... But boy, is it tough to get back to the real life again!
And how are things by your side?
Avatar 3:39am Bill Mac:

Good! Real life is overrated though. I'm ready to grow plants in the yard 24/7. Aside from that all is good...
Avatar 3:48am w41:

"Well then, as you'd say, we're both coming through fine" (Dr. Strangelove) :). And yes, I couldn't agree with dat second sentence more...
  3:57am david from ks:

,,I am an enemy of the "state"ready for non-violent protest,,,,nnnnI wanna see Hawkwind also!,,
  3:59am B/wad:

Yes! Ravenous....what a great underrated movie :)
I had no idea this was Damon Albarn!
Good morning from London xx
  4:03am eric:

I live in the Midwest, sorta [Ohio] and I would love to see hawkwind!
Avatar 4:07am Bill Mac:

It's a collaboration between him and Michael Nyman. I think that's his track though
Avatar 4:09am Bill Mac:

I haven't seen their list of stops but check their web page periodically, they might be coming out that way.
Avatar 4:10am Jay/London:

Good Morning Bill had a nice long sleep zzzz
Avatar 4:11am Andy in Berlin:

I overslept. Rats! Missed Steve Reich and Stereolab!
  4:11am B/wad:

I used to work at Blockbuster video in New Jersey when Ravenous came out. I had a conversation about it with my boss. He didn't like the film because he couldn't tell if it was a comedy or a horror. Naturally this was why I liked it.
Avatar 4:12am Bill Mac:

Hey Jay, Happy New Year! And Andy's in the house too!
Avatar 4:14am Bill Mac:

Odd reason to not like it but I guess he needed to have an opinion about it.
Avatar 4:17am Jay/London:

you can't just say he does not like he has to give some reason me thinks
Avatar 4:23am Bill Mac:

I think it's time to revisit that movie.
Avatar 4:27am Jay/London:

indeed bill then report back on our findings of the film
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32am Stanley:

Good morning Bill et mes amis
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am Stanley:

Just back from France. Being a bit clever.
Avatar 4:37am w41:

Votre Francais est toutement magnifique!
Avatar 4:37am Bill Mac:

I trust it was a good holiday?
Avatar 4:38am Bill Mac:

Uh oh, what are you going to do now?
Avatar 4:49am Jay/London:

they are just setting up for the Irish roots day on the heath sunday where we will have gaelic games ... not sure what they are ... woodland crafts and of course Irish bands and i guess a lot of dancing and good food
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51am Stanley:

Actually a bit of a bummer. Was holed up in bed for half of it with the flu - La Grippe!
It pisséd down the the other half. But I wasn't at work so not all bad.
Avatar 4:54am Bill Mac:

I got Irish in me but I don't get the whole dance craze (at least in the US) complete with the little springy hair weaves that the girls wear. The music and drinking I can do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55am Stanley:

I've just weighed myself and all that lack of exercise and rich food.....bugger!
Avatar 4:56am Jay/London:

@ stanley i feel for you flu is not at all nice i have only had it twice and that was bad both times it lasted two weeks .. i hope you are feeling a bit better now ... yeah bill think i will keep with the drinking music on sunday :)
Avatar 4:57am w41:

Drinking is music, and music is drinking.
Avatar 4:59am Bill Mac:

See, that's my problem - what he said - I get it now.
Avatar 5:00am Bill Mac:

Too bad, Stanley. Vacation is away from work though, so your right, it's not all bad.
  5:04am Steve R:

Fun set
Avatar 5:09am Andy in Berlin:

Hawkwind is still together?!
Avatar 5:11am Bill Mac:

I think Dave Brock is the only original member left but there are a couple guys in the band that have been there for years.
Avatar 5:12am Steve R:

“We were ready to rock out and we waited and waited and finally it was our turn ... there were a half million people asleep. These
people were out. It was sort of like a painting of a Dante scene, just bodies from hell, all intertwined and asleep, covered with mud. And this is the moment I will never forget as long as I live: a quarter mile away in the darkness, on the other edge of this bowl, there was some guy flicking his Bic, and in the night I hear, 'Don't worry about it John. We're with you.' I played the rest of the show for that guy.”
John Fogerty regarding Creedence Clearwater Revival's 3 a.m. start time at Woodstock.

I'm your Bic in the San Francisco Bay
Avatar 5:15am Andy in Berlin:

The Hip Replacement Tour. :)
Avatar 5:15am Bill Mac:

Thanks Steve. I can see you if I stand on this chair
Avatar 5:17am Bill Mac:

I remember seeing a poster in a Simpsons episode that read "Rolling Stones Steel Wheelchairs Tour" - and this was 20 years ago.
  5:19am david from ks:

,,,"A TargetOf Evil" Holy Sons ask a question that 99percent ovthe american populace should seriously ponder,,,a small group of us out here in the midst of drought in the so-called "breadbasket" of the world are seeing our aerosol aluminum sprayed environment turning to a desert! The USGov izzat war withKansas and the state legislature goes right along with it The 3rd reich still lives.
Avatar 5:19am Andy in Berlin:

@ Bill - arguably unfair then, totally correct now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am Stanley:

"Flicking his Bic" I had to look that up. Phew!
Avatar 5:21am Andy in Berlin:

you reminded me of an interview I read with Paul McCartney in the early days where they asked him how long he thought Beatlemania would last and he replied, "well I certainly don't see myself shaking my ass for a bunch of kids when I'm 50."
Avatar 5:21am Steve R:

  5:23am KP:

Bla bla.
Avatar 5:24am Bill Mac:

Avatar 5:43am Bill Mac:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43am Stanley:

@BN - great news, WFMU gets through the Great Firewall of China!
  5:46am berlusconi's nose:

Yup. FMU ain't very political is it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am Stanley:

@Bill - I think KP just commented in his sleep!
Avatar 5:47am Bill Mac:

@Stanley I just hope he remembers what he said
  5:48am berlusconi's nose:

Avatar 5:48am Bill Mac:
