You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

hermeneutic hint: 'our little craft' is a rather charming humility topos.
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 9:10pm Dan Bodah:

Kimye named their kid after this song, actually. You can hear why. If you've listened to Jeezuz, it's clear Kanye has fallen deeply under the spell of Pinhas and Merzbow.
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 9:12pm G:

kanye really tell?
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 9:17pm Dan Bodah:

Yes, Kayne's really tall
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 9:18pm G:

Well, that settles that.

Yeah, I had to electronically sign a non-disclosure agreement, offboard. Just like Snowden when he contracted with BAH.

Spies have such awesomely novelistic names. Robert Seldon Lady; Edward Snowden; Aldritch Ames.

So much great drone music, so little time.

Why is the Indian movie industry referred to as Bollywood?
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 9:34pm G:

Is this Tamil? I don't know my Indian languages as well as I should, and more the ones that descend from Sanskrit than Tamil...
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 9:35pm G:

Bombay + Hollywood, PB
  Mon. 6/24/13 9:36pm PB:

Thanks G, I never knew that.
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 9:38pm Mayuko:

Was the singer in Ponmani Asha Bhosle??
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 9:41pm Dan Bodah:

@Mayuko, I don't think so. The liner notes say only "feat. K.S. Chithra, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam"
  Mon. 6/24/13 9:46pm frenchee:

Oh Alice...how I love you!
  Mon. 6/24/13 9:49pm PB:

I listened to a different track from this Date Palms album on Pitchfork the other day. It was really good.
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 9:53pm Mayuko:

Dan, thank you. just googled K.S. Chithra. been enjoying the show tonight.

Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 11:29pm fleep:

What is Joseph playing? Is he manipulating physical objects or is this all laptop?
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 11:31pm Dan Bodah:

I can tell you there's a tape loop wandering around the room and through his reel player. He is furiously swapping CDs in and out of his case. He is far busier than a laptop can keep anyone!
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 11:32pm Dan Bodah:

His work is so rhythmic
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 11:41pm Dan Bodah:

No laptop at all
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 11:42pm Droll:

I should have put headphones on much earlier in this set.
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 11:45pm fleep:

It's like DXing as a kid, late at night, fluttery bits of sound from distant stations cutting in and out, interference patterns. Dreamlike.
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 11:49pm Dan Bodah:

@fleep, what's DXing?
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 11:51pm fleep:

@Dan tuning in distant radio stations by slowly scanning the spectrum, mainly a short wave hobby, but at night clear channel AM stations could be faintly heard in the analog static, coming and going in waves.
Avatar Mon. 6/24/13 11:55pm Dan Bodah:

I used to do a lot of that as a kid. Using an old transistor SW radio and also AM. It's amazing what you can get and from how far away on the AM dial under the right atmospheric conditions.
Avatar    Mon. 6/24/13 11:58pm Droll:

I wonder how many kids fall asleep noodling with the antenna on their hand-wound crystal radio set nowadays. Once I discovered I could clip mine to the house's steel air ducts I didn't need to noodle with reception much.

Great show/set/songs/riffs/notes BSG, JH, and DB!
  Tue. 6/25/13 12:01am Fred:

The Ben Seretan group was deeply moving!
Avatar    Tue. 6/25/13 12:01am fleep:
