Listener comments!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm DCE:

is that pillow happy or is it getting electroshock therapy? or both??
  12:04pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

Hey Irene, hello one and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm Irene Trudel:

Hi folks! Glad to be here with you. @DCE, I'll leave the picture interpretation to your imagination. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Matt from Springfield:

When Mondays are happier, weeks will be too.

Hi Irene and everyone! Hi Sean, DCE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Matt from Springfield:

@DCE: I think it's like a beer helmet, the pillow is drinking music as fast as it can...
Swag For Life Member 12:20pm 12539:

Matt, have you fixed your listening-at-work problem?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Mike East:

Hey Irene. I just picked up the William Tyler record "Behold the Spirit." I believe you did the engineering on his session on Jeffrey's show. Thanks for bringing him to my attention!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm DCE:

haha, MfS, you may be right about that!
Avatar 12:21pm adam_nspy:

Wow, going to look into Lisa Hannigan. This is amazing.
Avatar 12:22pm Sem Chumbo:

Lisa Hannigan: what adam_nspy said.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Matt from Springfield:

Hey 12539. Sadly, no. I contacted Kenzo bout that, he hasn't written back since the first email; I'll write him again and see if he's found a URL that will accept Live Listening here.
  12:28pm don:

Joe Henry produced Hannigan's 2011 album and it's a good one.
Swag For Life Member 12:29pm 12539:

Matt, that makes me sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Irene Trudel:

@Matt, did you contact our "Stream Team," linked at the bottom of this page?: wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Matt from Springfield:

@12539: Give thanks for what you have, support for those who haven't.
But keep in mind that it's not an impossible fix, just a new situation I haven't cracked yet! ;)

Hopefully I'll join you live again soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Matt from Springfield:

@Irene: Yep, that's the email the goes to Kenzo; the "listen-live/" Pop Up opens but doesn't play audio here, whereas the Archive Pop Ups (w/ the PHP code in the URL) DO play audio. It's a complex fix to do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Mike East:

speak of William Tyler and he shall appear!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm Mike East:

...I was bummed that the record didn't come with a digital download. I wanted my wife to have it, too. We'll just have to enjoy it together when I put it on the platter. Perfect Saturday evening music, imo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Mike East:

didn't realize he's on Merge now. Cool. I gotta pick this new one up.
  12:39pm common:

nice ending!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Mike East:

maybe there is a download on the new one...I was referring to Behold the Spirit...which is on Tompkins Square...good suggestion, though.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Brian in UK:

Hello Irene, where is the darn summer.
Talking of Merge, there is a new Richard Buckner out on Merge in September.
Avatar 12:55pm Van in DC:

Oh man am I late. Hi Irene!
Avatar 1:00pm iferreira:

  1:05pm KP:

Hey Irene, thanks for guiding me to best alt side PP evah!
  1:06pm KP:

Hey, Matt!
Avatar 1:21pm Sem Chumbo:

Enjoying this very much. Thanks, Irene.
Avatar 1:24pm Cecile:

they are nice collections, but their presence in perfume-y stores of my acquaintance often prevents me from buying them in real llife.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Mike East:

internet is telling me that Impossible Truth does in fact come with a download coupon (going back to the William Tyler discussion). Hooray Merge...Booo Tompkins Square.
  1:47pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

Great set, love the Bon Iver track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Matt from Springfield:

Hey KP, also belatedly!
Hey all newcomers here, also belatedly :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Matt from Springfield:

@Mike: Speaking of digital downloads, The Numero Group is pretty nice about them--when their WTNG vinyl didn't come w/ a digital DL, I emailed them about it and they gave me one!
  2:03pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

Green Gartside, is that of Scritti Politti fame?
  2:06pm flashback:

hi everybody.
  2:11pm common:

sean...he is from scrittie politti.
  2:11pm Sam:

Oh my god, what is this great tripped out sound?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Mike East:

thanks, Matt. I'm gonna email them and see what happens. Not for me, but my wife does the ipod thing and that particular record is right up her alley.
  2:16pm KP:

Found my way back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Matt from Springfield:

@Mike: I like vinyl+digital, since I use both, for maximum flexibility and tangible quality.

(Now what would be *really* cool--digital tracks, recorded from the vinyl! Maybe deluxe box sets could even include digital-mixed tracks, tracks recorded off the vinyl, tracks recorded from an 8-track. etc...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Andrew Waterloo:

There's nothing more pointless than the CD-in-a-cardboard-envelope that you get with some vinyl releases. They seem to have a better chance at causing a bad bend in the record.
Avatar 2:31pm Van in DC:

I have missed SO much of the show today...this is going to the top of the archive to-(re)do list for me
Avatar 2:33pm Dave E:

Hi Irene!!!!
Avatar 2:39pm Dave E:

is that a picture of a marrital aid?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Afternoon to all...It's been your usual wunnerful show. Been busy so not too much comment-watchin but lotsa great listenin!
Avatar 2:45pm Dave E:

This Saturday City song is sweeeeet!
Avatar 2:47pm Van in DC:

It is!
  2:57pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

Great show as always, Irene, many thanks, have a great week everyone.
Avatar 2:57pm pat from the district of columbia:

I always feel weird starifying Beatles tunes.
Avatar 2:58pm KP:

Only went to Maxwells once but it was the Feelies. super
Avatar 2:58pm Van in DC:

Well, thanks for the show Irene! The small portions I got to experience live today whet my appetite for a follow up archive indulgence. Have a great week! I'm off the grid for the next week plus so next week will ALSO be an archive catch up for me...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Irene Trudel:

@ Pat, never feel weird about giving The Beatles a star.
Swag For Life Member 3:00pm 12539:

Thanks, Irene.
