I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Avatar 12:15pm Cheri Pi:

The storied biography of Boy Governor Stevens T. Mason finally got the prog-treatment it so richly deserved, unfortunately-not in his life time. us1.campaign-archive1.com...
Avatar 12:15pm Lonious Monk:

hi wfmu hi bryce, is there any more infos on this track by yximalloo ? loved it.
Avatar 12:16pm Cheri Pi:

Heya Bryce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

One of my daughter's classmates (a girl) has first name "Poetic." I haven't heard that used as a name before.
Avatar 12:17pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

nice. I'll name my non-existant first child Emetic. Sounds more like a boy's name. Like LUPUS.
Avatar 12:17pm Bryce:

HAHAHAHAAAAA holy shit, cheri :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Robotron would probably be a good boy's name.
Avatar 12:19pm Bryce:

hey all,

lonious & hugo, working on an yximalloo show soon...he's kindly sent cassettes to the station since the 80s....
Avatar 12:20pm Cheri Pi:

I'm naming my non-child Robotron. Damnit, I should have non-kids sooner.
Avatar 12:20pm Lonious Monk:

great ! any possibility to find that (cassettes or mp3 ?) merci !
Avatar 12:23pm Bryce:

you are currently using the internet! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Hugo:

Found this on the web:

His only source of exposure seems to be WFMU, the eclectic college radio station based in New Jersey.

Avatar 12:25pm Bryce:

oy, if i had a nickel for every google inquiry that led back to the building.
Avatar 12:27pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

digging the direction here. My brain, she swooneth. But what's for lunch gedemmit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm tim from champaign:

Man, this is off to a great start, Bryce. The only thing that would make this show better would be Indian Buffet followed by an afternoon of drinking.
Avatar 12:28pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

THERE! Houston, we have a plan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Mike East:

its empanada Friday, Rev!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm stefica:

i'm naming my non-existent child yximalloo. yximalloo bryce.
Avatar 12:30pm Cheri Pi:

TfC you have the right idea. I want Choley. (sung like Bow Wow Wow)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm George of Troy:

I've got this one: www.discogs.com...
It's the only thing I have by him, and pretty crazy as I recall.

Hiya Bryce!
Avatar 12:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Good one, sir East, but the classic DC empañada source (Julia's) is a bit of a walk from here. I may have to commit acts of terror via aloo ghobi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Mike East:

you gotta have co workers like me, man...I just bought 6 of em on the way in and I'm handing them out like the empanada fairy!
Avatar 12:32pm Bryce:

heya hi!
Avatar 12:34pm Bryce:

lonious, his actual name is naofumi ishimaru, and he's a tokyoan. he was actually around here fairly recently, and stopped by nat roe's program i believe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm tim from champaign:

Actually, the last time afternoon drinking started for me (about a month ago) it ended later that night with me riding my bike sideways.
Avatar 12:37pm Lonious Monk:

hi bryce thank you !! i just checked his discogs profile, but hard to find through his discography the track you played. I'll write him an email ;)
Avatar 12:40pm Bryce:

haha, oopsie! let me fill that in.

he's a very nice guy & been sending music through the mail for over 3 decades. sure he'd be happy to hear from you!
  12:42pm Glenn the slave:

you booting up some DAW over there
Avatar 12:44pm Bryce:

good god, this shitty HP suddenly shuts itself down for windows upgrades without warning and without option to delay. when it's not busy shutting itself down due to overheating.
Avatar 12:49pm Cheri Pi:

Farmer's Manual = great
Avatar 12:51pm Bryce:

love their brain scrambling
Avatar 12:52pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Pi speaks truth.
Avatar 12:53pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...types truth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm DCE:

well, I'm joining you kind of late. Is this some kind of weird dance party?
Avatar 12:58pm Bryce:

if you're an amoeba
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm DCE:

I mean, you won't look at me any differently for dancing, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Tome:

mine also 4 year old toshiba, only to way to save from overheating was to get rid of windows entirely and installing linuxMint...
Avatar 1:01pm Chris from DC:

Wish I'd known it was empanada Friday, but darn good bahn mi anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Tome:

...unless you attempt to take out the gazillion screws and re apply thermal grease to the CPU,,, but check to see first of course if the fan is still running or just clogged up maybe ..
Avatar 1:04pm Cheri Pi:

Banh Mi, mmmmmmm
Avatar 1:05pm Mary Wing:

Wait, Yximalloo is pronounced "ishymalloo"?? I feel so stupid for saying "ixymalloo."
Avatar 1:05pm Bryce:

ehhhh it's definitely a design flaw - HP Envy 17. Had to cripple the GPU to keep the thing from going neutron star on me.

but i'm mostly an OSX guy, so don't have to worry about it too often.
  1:05pm ms_a:

transitory greetings from the workplace, Bryce,
Avatar 1:06pm Bryce:

Ishimaru! it's his last name :)
Avatar 1:06pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I may not be an amoeba, but I've got connections, man...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm northguineahills:

Since the chorizo tomato sauce w/ habaneros was so good w/ pasta the other day, I'm going to reprise that lunch again.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm DCE:

wish I had some nice speakers at work to hear that low-end better. I feel something funky going on...
  1:21pm DJ Lazonby:

where do i find this L@N?
psychedelic indeed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm northguineahills:

Thanks to pat, I know what I'm cooking for brunch tomorrow. I only usually have tamarind in Mexican chili candies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Ike:

Tome, pass that thermal grease over here. I need some of that for my brain. Too many errors. I'm worried I'll get a consciousness-crashing blue screen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm northguineahills:

so, is L@N pronounced 'Latin'?
Avatar 1:24pm Bryce:

it is!

it's another chestnut from a-musik in the late 90s...
  1:25pm DJ Lazonby:

its a shiny brown chestnut
Avatar 1:25pm helsing von fred:

Ilpo Väisänen was in Pan Sonic, who were awesome
Avatar 1:26pm pat from the district of columbia:

that She Simmers site is pretty good--she goes WAY deep into all aspects of her recipes...
Avatar 1:26pm Bryce:

yup, that's the ilpo :)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm northguineahills:

Didn't Charlemagne Palestine play on a few tracks on this Three Compositions for Machines album?
  1:34pm mick:

ilpo is the MAN
Avatar 1:35pm Bryce:

he did! he played a siren :)
  1:39pm DJ Lazonby:

Avatar 1:52pm Bryce:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm DCE:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Ike:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm infotermoo:

tempartspace.com... welcome to the opening on saturday. not many friends in NY, let's make some! : )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm northguineahills:

What time Saturday?
Avatar 2:13pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Finally crawled back here & missed the Tarts! Blargh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm infotermoo:

The exhibition will open on June 22 with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m.
  2:17pm Qft:

It's the Name Game!!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Ike:

That reminds me, a friend just bought some mangosteen from a fruit vendor near there, and it was pretty good, surprisingly. I had always heard that it imports very poorly from Asia and ends up tasting bad, so I never bothered trying it here in the U.S. It's still crazy expensive though.
  2:22pm prx:

Honey will you check and see if the transmogifier fell into the washer again?
  2:23pm nic:

this is great love this 2
  2:26pm joe voltage:

Hey Bryce!!! Home early. Think I'm gonna make a margarita.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm northguineahills:

Avatar 2:29pm Bryce:

  2:31pm Qft:

ha, they do look similar! a bit like richard brautigan, too.
Avatar 2:32pm Bryce:

no no...it IS alvin lucier!
Avatar 2:33pm Bryce:

he's a freaking world-class nut
  2:35pm Qft:

If only mumma and ashley made cameos!
Avatar 2:37pm Bryce:

hahaa, ashley was in it too! you gotta check it out, especially the second one
Avatar 2:39pm Bryce:

there were apparently a couple of scenes where the crew had to start rolling film, then physically leave the room, because they couldn't get through the take without lucier making someone lose their shit

he's warped
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Mike East:

this is awesome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm tim from champaign:

Do you think Alvin Lucier inspired Dan Akroyd for his role as Dr. Detroit?
  2:58pm joe voltage:

Is this recording on smithsonian?
  3:00pm common:

YES! it is now friday for real!
Avatar 3:00pm Mary Wing:

This is my favorite part; I wish I could star it!
Avatar 3:02pm Mary Wing:

Did Keili and Bryce have a transitional moment also?
Avatar 3:02pm Jesse K:

thanks Bryce!
  2:39am m p:

yximalloo info: i can't figure out the new stupid myspace setup but in the past one could buy all available yximalloo cd's and cassettes (and a great t-shirt) direct from him on his myspace page including 'live' that the track 'hebi' is on.
  9:14pm Avant Reguard:
