...Richard Thompson Live:...'*&* it's a cracking good tale!'...
  9:10am Jack:

Bob, thanks!

Wow, you've covered a lot of ground in 20 minutes. G'morning, Bob!
  9:50am Robert:

Does anyone else out there get the same rxn I do to something like Matty Groves, with its story of a knife fight and killing of a lover & wife after she totally disses her husband, which is to laugh out loud? Or am I the only one with that "sick" a sense of humor?
Avatar 9:56am tomB:

"for she was of noble kin" is the best line
  10:00am Robert:

But at least I didn't laugh at the 2nd-following one, "Lakefront", where the guy contemplates making a break in his lie and decides better of it. That's always an interesting type of story. So often you get romantic stories of bold action which would probably be foolhardy IRL, but not as often ones like this of someone who makes what is probably the better but more conservative decision, saying that while the status quo might not be that good, the ideal is unrealistic.
  10:01am Robert:

Darn, I meant "life", not "lie".
  10:03am Robert:

But I tend to be the guy in the audience who's the only one laughing at some line or shot in a play or movie.
  10:08am Robert:

But the opposite happens to me too, where my friends are laughing at what I consider to be a sad tale.

My FAVE version bb.... :-)
  10:20am Robert:

I thought the line after "I'd never chase women" was going to be "I'd only chase men" to rhyme with "again"!
Avatar 10:29am SmokinJ:

Wow! I haven't heard this lately! Thanks for the Zally bb...

The Zal album is on import cd 2010
  10:40am scott:

Am I the only one who remembers the closing section of "Pilgrim's Progress" being Don Imus' closing theme in the '70s, back when he was actually funny?
  10:57am scott:

"Horrors of the Red Planet" is actually the video release title of a film better known as The Wizard of Mars.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Mike East:

@scott - I just looked that up, and saved it to my netflix queue...not available yet.
  8:48pm Eugene Bentley:

No Dionne Warwick on cd? That's a travesty. Rhino has two great Dionne compilations - Collection Her All-Time Greatest Hits and Hidden Gems.
