WOW,great cover-job.
Avatar 9:35am Faye:

Cheri! the feeling is mutual!
Avatar 9:35am Faye:

haha doesn't compare to YLT's Can jam at the end of their marathon show this year IMHO.
  9:37am Ahmad:

But what does?
Avatar 9:37am Faye:

Avatar 9:38am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Still a bit disappointed that everything I've heard from the Malkmus/Can project was played so straight... there's so much room to stretch out with that material. Hell, you could turn SING SWAN SONG into a nine-hundred hour epic.
Avatar 9:38am βrian:

Oh Sappy Day!
Avatar 9:40am Jennique:

I did really appreciate YLT's version of Heroes at the end of the marathon. I even favorited/starred it.
Avatar 9:44am dc pat:

DAMMIT! Tryin to work here--covering Faye's show, The Love Debate, and the Giro d'Italia. Thank GOD my boss works in North Carolina...
Avatar 9:48am Cheri Pi:

My mind is in 9,000 places now. I'm reeling it back in to Faye.
Avatar 9:51am Cheri Pi:

Srzly though, I bet it's too hard for non-Can humans to stretch out the Can stuff and try to play all the notes at the same time. Geraldine Fibbers: exception to the rule w/ You Doo Right.
Avatar 9:54am Cheri Pi:

Hold the phone! Timelord/Tragic Bastard Richard Dawson wuz played at the top???? were there any negative side effects like spontaneous pimples? [Dawson's way of laying his eggs inside you so he can hatch himself.]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am DCE:

this is beautiful...I need this in my life...
Avatar 9:55am dc pat:

ok. New fave song: When I Leave My House
Swag For Life Member 9:55am Ralphine:

"Can's Ege Bamyasi played by Stephen Malkmus and Friends" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue as an album title.
Swag For Life Member 9:56am Ralphine:

It reminds me of that Soulwax compilation titled:
"Most of the remixes we've made for other people over the years except for the one for Einstürzende Neubauten because we lost it and a few we didn't think sounded good enough or just didn't fit in length-wise, but including some that are hard to find because either people forgot about them or simply because they haven't been released yet, a few we really love, one we think is just ok, some we did for free, some we did for money, some for ourselves without permission and some for friends as swaps but never on time and always at our studio in Ghent."
Avatar 9:57am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Nice, CP... Tragic Timelord Bastard as realized by David Cronenberg on a psilocybin bender. Sign me up. BRING ON THE EGGS.
Avatar 9:58am dc pat:

yeah what the hell is it about Richard Dawson--technically I shouldn't like him but he kills me.
Avatar 10:00am Cheri Pi:

The Oracle at Delphi spoke of such a Tragic Timelord Basterd rearing his ugly head in our century...to fester under our cloacas.
Avatar 10:00am Cheri Pi:

Right on Ralphine!!
Avatar 10:04am Jennique:

Whenever Richard Dawson is mentioned my mind goes to him kissing some lady on Family Feud.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am Andrew Waterloo:

We had a retirement party for a co-worker and he said one of the great things about being retired was that he now wakes up later to brewed coffee instead of early to instant coffee. We were all asking "what the hell, instant coffee?"
Avatar 11:10am Cheri Pi:

Instant coffee gives you the energy needed to seek out further more legit sources of caffeine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Mike East:

Instant coffee is looking like more of an option at work now that someone broke the french press...again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Andrew Waterloo:

This is why coffee makers have timers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am Andrew Waterloo:

Avatar 11:18am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Instant coffee = survival rations at best. Like those packets of nasty paste they tell us astronauts were noshing on... "it looks like tile-grout but it's really grilled salmon!... tasting rather like tile grout!"
  11:19am Ray L:

Hey Faye, I love your show -- been listening to archives for the last couple weeks. Thanks for all the great music!
Avatar 11:20am Jennique:

I work with an 85 year old man who drinks instant coffee every morning with goldfish crackers and a can of tuna fish. Maybe it's the key to longevity?
Avatar 11:20am Faye:

Thanks for listening Ray!
Avatar 11:20am Rev. Turnip Druid:

First & last time ever had instant coffee was around 1992, deep winter, during a long drive across the USA in a cargo van with no heat. Made it in a thermos with semi-warm water from the tap at interstate rest-stops. Self-flagellation at its worst. But it worked. Sorta.
Avatar 11:22am Cheri Pi:

I love that story Pappy Turnip. Let it serve as a warning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Andrew Waterloo:

The closes I get to instant coffee is Tea.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Andrew Waterloo:

There's a moat between coffee and tea and instant coffee is in the moat.
Avatar 11:24am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Such self-experimentation should be left only to the professionals. That is to say, the criminally insane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am DCE:

RTD, that sounds like a true test of character. it appears you passed!
Avatar 11:26am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Thanks DCE. Next up, the story of what happens when a demented comrade suggests fasting for 2 days & then chugging a huge bottle of magnesium citrate.... "to see the face of god..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Carmichael:

I have never drank coffee, at least not after the 1st taste when I was about 16. Not in college, not in the military. Strong black tea, and no instant anything. Wait, did I drink Tang once? I'm rambling ... Oh look, a DOG!!

A friend told me convinced his lab partner to put the magnesium strip in the electrical socket, you know completing the circuit and all. He said it was very bright. Afterward he got out of a suspension by simply saying "I didn't think he'd actually do that"

OK, I got it. It wasnt poisonous, as I expected. Just a garden variety tarantula - their bites sting a little but carry no venom. This one looks to be pregnant so I will keep her in a jar in my office until she gives birth, and then I'll release them in a park.
