Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:07pm doca:

evenig, dave. too bad i won't be able to listen to your show today, i got to wake up early tomorrow. but i'll look forward for the archives.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:08pm doca:

i only accept folk if it's less than two percent rock and roll.
  Sun. 5/5/13 9:08pm 12539:

I'm here (quietly).
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:08pm G:

Ditto (for now quietly)

Hey doca, G, 125 etc., bloopy, BDR.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:10pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Folks' in the sense I was just listening to local VermontPublicRadio's 'All The Traditions' Folk Show - & was just thinking what Cultural Whiplash I was having going from Iris Dement to this...
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:11pm Dave Mandl:

@doca: It's 99 44/100% folk.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:12pm doca:

thanks, Dave, now i feel better.
  Sun. 5/5/13 9:12pm bloopy:

anyone get my roger moore reference ( ._.)
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...but that DJ might actually play something like this Sedition Ensemble...
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:15pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

??: ...sounds more like a Sean Connerey inflection...
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:15pm Dave Mandl:

@bloopy: Sorry, no :-(
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:17pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Hello Dave! Happy Spring! Your show so far is so lovely to my ears. I was going to say "Like music to my ears" but then I realized that was stupid. Chalk it up to me being very tired. Anyway, loving the show, as usual. :-)
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:18pm tomB:

There are so many CDs titled "Essential Marvin Gaye" or "Essential Mamas &Papas", that I had come to think my copy of Essential Logic was the title of a comp of the late Lora Logic's projects, rather than the name of her group. So much for my street cred!
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:18pm Dave Mandl:

Hey, Mlle Fromage. "Music"? No, not on my show.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:19pm Dave Mandl:

@tomB: Haha. Well, it is essential, so you're not wrong.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Hullo Wendy!; speaking of Vermont!
...Never e-mailed you 'howdy' back - I'm dysfunctionally amotivational (lazy) - but I will!...
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:21pm doca:

this living by lanterns cd is great.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:22pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Mingus-type Jazz, would you say? Slightly Ornette Coleman-ish, perhaps?...
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:23pm doca:

@Rev: yes, like if ornette coleman was "inventing" free jazz right now and not 50 years ago.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:28pm Wendy del Formaggio:

RevRabbit: whenever ya get to it is fine. I'm busy with my shop re-opening anyway. I am not offended.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:28pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Dave: haha, whoops, I musta been confused.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:29pm doca:

oh no amplified guitars!
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:30pm Uncle Michael:

Greetings Earthlings.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...amplified might be an understatement w/ Kinski...
- Hullo Uncle Michael!
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:32pm Droll:

I'm leaving it open as to whether or not Kinski qualifies as the 2%, most of the show is still ahead.
Sounds more 80's Mudhoney than 70's, IMHO.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:33pm Dave Mandl:

Hey, U.M.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 9:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 10:14pm Dave Mandl:

Oh boy. I didn't mean to make you name every female drummer in the world. But for the record, you haven't guessed yet.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 10:15pm Dave Mandl:

A few more guesses and then I'll spill it.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 10:15pm Uncle Michael:

@fleep: You mean Susie Ibarra? Yes, but wasn't she born in the Philippines? Maybe just her parents.
Avatar Sun. 5/5/13 10:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Mo Tucker certainly a distinctive & influential drummer. Lou wouldn't let her use cymbals? (or they agreed on that...)

Honeycombs Fall'64? "Have I the Right?" Stylewise, nothing fancy on the drums, though she did have a beehive hairdo. But the earliest female rock drummer on record of which I'm aware.
