hey Scott, you got your 1040s all in the mail?
Avatar 3:07pm Cecile:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm tim from champaign:

This song introduced me to Spacemen and Mudhoney at the same time when I first heard this song in 1990.
Avatar 3:07pm Cecile:

DCE, I'm sure FMU doesn't pay him enough to even report it. :D
Avatar 3:09pm Dave B:

nice quiet day at the office. I'm all ears
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Stevel:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Mike East:

The Atomic Missiles had a song called Spacemen 3 that was pretty much just a cover of this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Mike East:

they'd often save it for their last song and usually play a 20 minute version if the soundman or club was being a dick
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm fleep:

Two explosions at finish line of Boston Marathon
Avatar 3:15pm Jim Price:

Killer track. Cream for the ears!
Avatar 3:23pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Germy Cash!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm tim from champaign:

You weren't joking, Fleep.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Mike East:

@fleep - my coworker just came in and mentioned that. When I first read your post, I thought you meant some people came from behind at the last minute and won the race. This is way shittier news.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Scott Williams:

hello everyone! ugh, the boston news is not good. sick feeling
Avatar 3:44pm glenn:

marathon news. news.nationalpost.com...
Avatar 3:46pm Dave B:

Have a friend who was running it. Fortunately he crossed the finish about 30 mins prior
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Andrew Waterloo:

Avatar 4:03pm Cheri Pi:

belated praise for Pharaoh Overlord.
Avatar 4:05pm Cecile:

oh, jeez.
But the time around tax day is often when govt agencies are on alert. Okla bombing happened on 4/19/95 - 2 days after tax day that year.
Avatar 4:05pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 4:05pm Cecile:

but so terrible, and frightening.
Avatar 4:06pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

So they released an EP from the Full Circle album? Weird... but good stuff...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm fleep:

@Cecile Which point to domestic rather than foreign origin, but that's leaping way ahead of the story.
Avatar 4:12pm braveness23:

CP, do you think my Kate would like this song?
Avatar 4:13pm Cheri Pi:

uh...you better don't B23.
Avatar 4:13pm Cheri Pi:

unless you want to "sleep w/ the hens"
Avatar 4:14pm braveness23:

contemplates... yeah, I best not go there.
Avatar 4:15pm Cecile:

this is one of the more mean-spirited post-punk songs I've heard. And this isn't a genre noted for its maganimity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Scott Williams:

well, she was 12 at the time
Avatar 4:19pm Cecile:

I was also going to mention how PERFECTLY it captures middle school. LOL!
Avatar 4:21pm braveness23:

Makes me think of the B52's. "I'll give you fish, I'll give you candy, I'll give you everything I have in my hand"
Avatar 4:21pm Cheri Pi:

I covet that b52's song!
Avatar 4:22pm braveness23:

Sophia and I jam in the car to that song!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Carmichael:

Hi Scotty and everyone. Never went to middle school myself.
Avatar 4:24pm Simon the Good:

Gods Punk? I misread it as God Spunk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm SeanG:

loving the show
Avatar 4:24pm Cecile:

our middle school was part of a K-12 school, but was just as toxic as if we had a freestanding building.
Avatar 4:25pm Cecile:

Just checked in to Boston sitch, two people were killed. Several have lost limbs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Carmichael:

2 more bombs found. Cops are taking care of 'em.
Avatar 4:29pm braveness23:

ugh, what a downer. so sickening
  4:29pm Lucy:

Hello from Nyon Switzerland! I finally got out of Barcelona, now with old friends in a cool farm squat. I have been reading about Boston, my cousin is working in a building right there and it's in lockdown. Very disturbing... But this show is making me feel a lot better!

Avatar 5:12pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

So glad to be in (and NJ) today. For those that don't know, this really is one of the biggest celebration days of the year in Boston. Lots of people have it off and it's sort of the big kick-off to spring. Normally the funnest day of the year to be in town.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Scott Williams:

was thinking about you pete, glad you're aight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm tim from champaign:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm SeanG:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Stevel:

Scott: Thanks for the update on Boston. I'm shunning social media until later when people actually know what happened. Still, it was on my mind. I'm glad you brought it into the conversation (although I suspect I heard it in the music a bit before that.) Peace.
  5:20pm le:

Me from other country. What Gnod mean?
  5:25pm le:

Backyword it say "Dong" ???
Avatar 5:26pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Thanks, man. All my people are ok. Very hard to make sense of people having to pay with their lives to have a good time.
Avatar 5:26pm Cecile:

It's a funny way of saying "nod". The G is silent.
Avatar 5:27pm Cecile:

And they all worked so hard to get there.
