A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Funny story from the edge of signal range: in this part of NJ, it can be tricky to tease out WFMU amid the fuzzy signal clutter. As it turns out, I had the wrong station on for ten minutes because when I tuned in Sonic Youth's "Little Trouble Girl" was on, and I figured, you know...

@Cecile - Thanks! Maybe next year? I dunno, but I am happy to take credit for the FMU circular, garden state parkway sticker/beer mat.
@Troublina - was SO colorful and hot down there. Quite the opposite of here. Highlight was watching giant sea turtles lay eggs at night on the beach. They lay quite a few more than chickens, like 80 to 120 at a time.

Pete@10:14, crummy clock radio? Those can slip back and forth between 91.1 and 91.5 even in areas where both have good signals. It's more the shoddiness of the cheap dial tuner than anything.
