We have our winner
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm G:

So it's us losers from here on :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm G:

Just curious -- Why does the schedule say:

6pm to 9pm This week only: Gateway to Joy with Donna
Special: Donna fills in for Rob Weisberg
Avatar 6:18pm flashback:

wfmu listeners are always winners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm G:

musically, yes. commentatively, maybe not :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm Rob Weisberg:

Yes, Every 1's a Winner around here, as Hot Chocolate the famous egalitarian bubble gum disco pop band once sang...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm Rob Weisberg:

As for the error on the schedule - Donna filled in for me on Feb 8 and the date was entered incorrectly as March 8 in the system here somewhere along the line - not something I can correct myself unfortunately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm G:

NP at all; it's also listed as today on her playlist page...

Very Albion-y, this Albion Band...
  6:33pm Lucy:

This music takes me back...
Avatar 6:33pm slugluv1313:

Sandy Denny! *love*
  6:33pm Lucy:

waaaayyyyyyy back
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm Rob Weisberg:

The internet tells us the original plan was for Sandy to sing Sir Patrick Spens (Child Balland no. 58 if you're keeping score) on Lieg and Lief. But the song was dropped from that album and wound up on the later album Full House with Dave Swarbrick taking lead vocals. (See .uni-hamburg.de/~zierke/sandy.denny/songs/sirpatrickspens.html)
  6:57pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...Archive will give me Live Sandy & Fairport - !
...How good is all this...
  7:06pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

Mr. Weisberg - you keep me from Bill Moyers & Co. on PBS *every damned week*: I'm becoming a hedonist & an uninformed citizen - & it's *your* fault for bringing me the whole World
...I will probably get a better computer in not too long & watch Bill on my own schedule : P ...
- Oh!: You miss things for this Program too - !
...& you *certainly* make an interesting send-up/contrast to Henry Rollins late Eastern Time on KCRW Sat. P.M.'s - altho' he in fact plays fascinating Modern Asian things too - !
  7:09pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

This Program is always both an Education & a Pleasure.
Avatar 7:11pm fleep:

The Rollins show is the best thing KCRW does and is all archived so you don't have to make a choice, just wait until FMU veers away from music. And good day to you, Rob, great sounds.
  7:23pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...'commentatively, maybe not :)'...
...I dunno (sigh)...a draw mebee?? [insert embarassment & eye-roll emoticons]...

  7:35pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

- Oh - true, fleep! Thanx.
...I like Morning Becomes Eclectic (yes: it's L.A. - ShowBizland) & have their Ecelcetic24 Bookmarked, & feel a SoCal connection having habitated Santa Barbara a long time.
...Always feel a *leettle* naughty referencing other streams here - but WFMU ain't Big Brother, I presume; It says 'No HTML' & everybody Links...
...The more Options the better...
...I'm surprised I haven't found anything rilly Groovy Kewl 'n' Bitchin' outta Britain to Stream yet. I have some Bookmarks I channel-surf now & again...
- I mean: FMU has - count 'em - 5IVE damn Streams - !...

- Great Variety as ever, Mr. W.
..Having lived in SoCal. - but being stuck in North New England again - it is good to hear Latin things...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm G:

Wow, people are talking about one wiseass, jocularly awkward adverb 75 minutes later??? I ought to do that more often :) Kinda like playing a 45 at 33!
  7:38pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...'Type like no one's reading'...
...After this week's Dave the Spazz - I myself am interpretting that ironically...
  7:42pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...jes' scrollin' thru the Comments G...(If Grammar's wrong - sailed clean past *me*)...
  7:50pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

I hope I am not misconstrued:
- I (unironically) consider myself not even in sight of your street as Comments go, G. Would presume that known by all...Internet (sub)texting meanings not always clear...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm G:

Not a problem at all. :) -- It's just that I deliberately made up a silly-sounding non-word whose meaning was clear just to avoid editing the comment I was trying to get done with, and it came up so long later I'd nearly forgotten I ever wrote it!
  7:52pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...Here I am all nerdy white American uptight typey like this to soundtrack of stonking Africa dance grooves...
  7:54pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

: )

...The Moon is 18 degrees Scorpio...
  7:57pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

  8:10pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...Used to hear Ranchero & Mariachi in Parks & over fences often in Santa Barbara.
...I don't think I heard commercial (read: bad) USA Country & Western in 16 years there...There are not one but two Stations of that here in our little place New Hampshire...
  8:16pm Los Frios:

good night! from the chatroom guys!
  8:20pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...my liver is formally Protesting this week (ref. aforementioned Commentation re Thur.)
- but I Negotiated a Guinness on the arguement it's got Minerals & we made a lotta $ for Community Services @ the Thrift Store (job) today...& you care because?...It's great many DJ's get to stretch out on longer Programs here - !...Why state the obvious when you can always just state the obvious I always say...Where *is* Waldo - ?!?...
  8:25pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

(...'Commentation' was best I could do, right?...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm G:

Very commendable!

The Nunavut Donna Summer
  8:34pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

Commenably done.
...It'd be great to have a little spinning Globe Map graphic - as on some News broadcasts say - that spun around & landed & focused on where each Track here was recorded w/ other relevant visual data...but you rich people prob. already have it on yer squawboxes & pads...
  8:35pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...it certainly wasn't bad for me...
  8:37pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...if UncommenDably mistyped...
- 'YOU' rich people...will I ever learn - ??...

The Best Western in Nyack? HOLY. CRAP!
  8:43pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

...Except 'commendably' is a real word...Every Saturday is for me the first Wednesday of the rest of my life...Working for a living is a full-time job...
- I feel like I'm chatting & passing notes in Class here...sorry Mr. Weisberg Sir...
  8:45pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

  8:52pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

Probably heading to Museum of American Indian Sunday...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00pm Rob Weisberg:

Glad you liked Tanya, G, enjoy it if you go! Thanks everyone for listening and have a lovely evening.
  9:01pm RevolutionRabbitNov63:

On the last Mudd Up! this week he played a track - early in the Show, but I can't figure which one! - a really lovely soulful duet between - I would guess - an African man & an American women - great in the way intense 'jamming' across Cultures is when there is challenge but also mutual inspiration...
Avatar 9:03pm slugluv1313:

wonderful show, Rob! glad that i was home to listen LIVE!
