Thanks for the sparks, mr. funk davies. This 12" is a longer version no?

...Not to be tedious - but just to make sure no wires crossed (probably mine)
- you PB said "Aerosmith destitute man's Stones"
- & I added '(Aerosmith) the Mainstream man's (Rockfan's) New York Dolls' - because that's what I've always thot & seemed like you gave me an opening there to say it. I'm agreeing w/ you basically.
- Not sure where Pistols came in - so it's probably me missing something...

evan hiya,, did i miss anything Good last week?
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 10:18pm Droll:

I loved that "Hjet Det Ground". Any heavy metal with cowbell and a pre-announced guitar solo rocks, but heavy Scandinavian accents made that one dessert on dessert.

Damn! You could pogo to the Goodbye Johnnys! Harkens to the Vibrators. This is a good thing.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 10:24pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I will pledge extra if Lord Bendover answers the phone.
  Wed. 2/27/13 10:24pm PB:

Revolution - no problem. I misunderstood, I thought you were saying the Pistols were mainstream. I think we're on the same page. Even if we're not, nothing like a good natured debate about music.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 10:25pm efd:

Back in college I dropped French because I can't verbalize non white bread American English. My professor was so sure someone was forging my VERY INTENSIVE & PAINFUL DAILY language lab sign-ins, she checked on me, and then very apologetically told me to stop wasting my time. I'd be a damn mute anywhere but 'Murica, or the Vatican

OK, now at least one of us--well, one of me--wants to know!
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 10:58pm Droll:

Nothing weird about not listening to music you play -- when I make DJ::bestBits remixes I never listen to the song all the way through. I chop a 3:30 song down to about 15 seconds, there are entire parts of the original I'll never hear.

Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:03pm Uncle Michael:

I don't know when he stopped producing the Association without googling.
  Wed. 2/27/13 11:05pm john:

I don't either, just a feeling that it would have been before '73. I could be totally wrong on that.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:05pm Uncle Michael:

I do see now that it's an Albert Hammond song...so that's promising.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:05pm G:

I loved my uncle's brilliant red porchetta

i just had to quickly jump in before i answer the ticket calls to say that "Names, Tags, Numbers & Labels" is my very favorite Association song. It is great.

Surprised Association around in 70's. Hmm.

They played a live set recently (Irwin's show?) Went for an hour or more as I recall. Pretty damned good.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:16pm efd:

stand by for coincidental related Association programming (not "Names, Numbers..." though, I don't want to ruin the surprise).
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:17pm Holly in NC:

@Droll like I said, a few. The kickass-est awesome-st efd-listenin' few ;-)

Even though efd heartily disapproves.

'I'm a Mocker'

Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:18pm Uncle Michael:

How long since you've played any Sweeney Todd, efd?
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:18pm efd:

There was a 3-hour Endless Boogie special on Brian's show, but there were some other elements besides the live set they recorded here. Very cool show, worth checking out the archive.
  Wed. 2/27/13 11:18pm john:

Hmm, the composer's version of Names, Tags is on the first Albert Hammond album which happens to be just across the room. As soon as this show's over...

@Droll I think 'roo = goat, nonetheless, no idea. That truck only hits my 'hood at night, given my eyesight I've never really seen the art in detail before! Huh. Will ask the guys next week if schedule permits
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:28pm efd:

steve, I wonder if you're thinking of Don Steele from the original Death Race 2000?
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:28pm Julie:

I can't help it, this song makes me gooey inside

I step away a minute and it's Harry! :(

Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:33pm Droll:

Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:33pm Danne D:

dang and an Aharon sighting!
  Wed. 2/27/13 11:33pm AZ:

Next year's premium really needs to be 80 minutes of "'In' Sound" episodes. I'll even contribute some from my private stash!
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:34pm Danne D:

I should've rushed back and mentioned that I did get that, G and Holly :)
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:34pm Julie:

Rotisserie with a nice cold draft sounds delicious.

I never got into nerd baseball. I love baseball though.
  Wed. 2/27/13 11:39pm john:

Danne, the "show up for the draft or you're hosed for the year" philosophy tends to get everyone right where you need them at draft time...

@john the people having jobs where they don't always control their time and stupid shit comes up that they have to go to hurts however
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:40pm Uncle Michael:

Everyone knows what a shameless name-dropper I am. Here's one for the rotisserie crowd. I used to play softball with Rob Neyer. For realz.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:41pm Danne D:

Neyer do well, Uncle Michael?
  Wed. 2/27/13 11:41pm john:

ok, I'm impressed by the Rob Neyer name drop. He also loves power pop!
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:43pm Uncle Michael:

He was a good egg. I have no contact with him since the late '80s. He had just gone to work for Stats Inc. Last time we ran in the same circle.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:45pm Droll:

Re-issue or recent Debora Iyall?
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:47pm Holly in NC:

Probably 1/2 of what keeps me where I am is living within spitting distance of the REAL Durham Bulls Athletic Park. After several years of stubborn & useless protest I grudgingly decided I still needed to support my team, so I do regularly attend the fancy schmancy huge park downtown (x years later I still call it the new park). But it's not the same.

Happy old park exists, and used by lucky local kids!
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:48pm efd:

@Stevel, recent! within the past few years, anyway.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:48pm Uncle Michael:

@efd fyi, the endless boogie was my big takeaway from tonight's show. thank you!
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:49pm Stevel:

Neat. Always liked her and RV.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:50pm Danne D:

Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:50pm efd:

You bet, Uncle Michael! I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts on "Names, Numbers..."
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:51pm Uncle Michael:

I think Rob had already done his stint with Bill James before the Stats Inc. gig.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:51pm Stevel:

Holly: Yes. Great segue.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:52pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks Steve.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:52pm Danne D:

and that is a cool story Uncle Michael :)

That would be the path not taken by me. I probably wouldn't be conversing with you guys right now had something ended up happening (or they had an opening at the time)
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:53pm Stevel:

Its a great show. Came on one afternoon, stuck at my desk. It wasn't so bad. Great music for nearly anything.
Avatar Wed. 2/27/13 11:53pm Uncle Michael:

I think at least one old teammate caught up with Neyer at the ASG last year in KC.
