Good morning Liz
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03am DCE:

Monday can be good....Monday can be good...Hi Liz!
  9:04am HAL9000 Playlisterizer:

Good morning. I am new and improved, can you tell?
Avatar 9:05am Cheri Pi:

Hey Liz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am Liz Berg:

Hi everyone and welcome! This Arrington track really sums up how I feel most Monday mornings in a way I couldn't possibly express with words.
Avatar 9:10am Cory:

Liz, you had me scurrying for my headphones. TY!
  9:10am John:

Is Arrington from Tuva? The name doesn't suggest it.
  9:10am Jack:

maybe I should take my headphones off.
Avatar 9:14am Cory:

I'm glad my wife didn't put acid in my coffee this morning Giant Talking Green Bunny Rabbit. Damn, the walls are melting again.
Avatar 9:15am Chris from DC:

Right about that this Monday Liz.
  9:15am seang:

I'm gonna blast this throughout the library
Avatar 9:15am Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

HAL9000, you are now bigger than before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Liz Berg:

Arrington is not Tuvan, but has learned the throat-singing skills that are popular with the ladies.
  9:18am HAL9000 Playlisterizer:

Thank you, Doktor Kenzo. I am amazed that PHP can become self-aware.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am fred:

Yeah! Farthest South!
(Yair Yona is part of this band)
  9:23am ?:

spelled "solstice", I think
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Liz Berg:

It's spelled "Soltice" both in the song title and album title, so I think that may be intentional?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am DCE:

oh cool, didn't know Yair was part of that--thanks for the info, fred!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am DCE:

or someone has a really bad spellchecker
Avatar 9:26am Cory:

waht's spellcheek?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am tim from champaign:

Hey HAL, I'm sitting a 1/2 mile away from the building in which you were born.
Avatar 9:27am fred von helsing:

"Soltice Quick Rub Topical Analgesic"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27am Liz Berg:

Ha ha, well, I'll change it to "Solstice" if you guys feel strongly about it (and I think you may!).
Avatar 9:28am Rev. Turnip Druid:

[splutters to semi-consciousness]
acid coffee? whut?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am fred:

@DCE: There's more info on this project here: youtu.be...
Avatar 9:31am Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Crowdnaming takes over
Avatar 9:31am Cory:

Rev, it's a smile in every cup. Literally!
  9:31am HAL9000 Playlisterizer:

tim that was my crime-fighting alter ego, enforcing crisp logic against cartoonishly dumb carbon-based life forms. I myself find it more convenient to lie back and watch the pledges roll in and wait for my opportunity to launch a nuclear first strike against Clear Channel. Rest assured, A.Q. Khan will be in touch with Ken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am Liz Berg:

Alright, you "solstice" folks win!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am Liz Berg:

I'll just be sitting here admiring my poultice.
Avatar 9:35am Cory:

I think every post should have a misspelling now. Just to f with people. But I'm in a mischievous mood this morning.
Avatar 9:35am fred von helsing:

Avatar 9:36am Cory:

Avatar 9:38am Yair Yona:

Greetings everyone, thanks Liz ;)
Avatar 9:39am Rev. Turnip Druid:

OK then so do most people (amongst the americans present) prefer the pronunciation "MISS-chiffis" or "miss-CHEEVE-yus" .... Inquiring minds want to know. Other things, probably.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40am tim from champaign:

Super digging the bwoww-wwoww electroniuc grooves, Liz!
Avatar 9:42am Cory:

miss-CHEEV-ee-yus in Indiana
Avatar 9:43am Cory:

my parents also say "warsh" instead of wash.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am fred:

Nice, I always like what The Custodian of Records puts out
Avatar 9:52am Rev. Turnip Druid:

@cory: true enough, re: "warsh" -- On the maryland side of DC, I tended to hear my hometown pronounced as "WORSH-NUN" -- a crime against nature if ever there was one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am rsj:

this organ is rubbing my brain perfectly right now, thanks LIZ!
  9:59am common:

strange one.
Avatar 10:05am Jennique:

I've lived in many parts of the U.S. growing up, but some of the weirdest pronunciations of town names I found were in New England, Rhode Island and Massachusetts in particular. (Warwick = "Warrick" Peabody = "Peebuddy" Worcester = "Wuhstuh")
Avatar 10:05am Rev. Turnip Druid:

a country/opera hybrid would be interesting. or not?
Avatar 10:06am duke:

You can't scare us!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am tim from champaign:

If I wanted easy listening, I'd go to the dentist office!
Avatar 10:07am duke:

RI names: Pawtucket = P'tuckit

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am Liz Berg:

Nightmarish Mueran Humanos album cover:
Avatar 10:14am Cory:

yeah, I'd flip that over too
Avatar 10:14am Cheri Pi:

Mueran Humanos -I love these guys.
Avatar 10:15am Rev. Turnip Druid:

re: the album cover, thirty bonus points for going with an elegant typeface for an image like that. Well done.
Avatar 10:15am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 10:17am Cheri Pi:

RTD! AKA Chawkwind!
Avatar 10:17am Cheri Pi:

the album cover makes me ashamed of my home taxidermy skills.
Avatar 10:19am Rev. Turnip Druid:

CP: as long as you can still turn Steven Wilson into a jackalope, it's all good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Planet Tyler:

More MN yeech: mueranhumanos.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20am Planet Tyler:

Whoops - I mean MH, as in Mueran Humanos!
Avatar 10:20am Rev. Turnip Druid:

This M.Humanos is perfect for being freakishly sleep-deprived. Seriously. Dig.
Avatar 10:23am Cheri Pi:

SW-that wastrel! I wouldn't waste the cheapest knock-off ocular prosthetics on him.
Avatar 10:25am Cheri Pi:

although...Steven Wilson may fit into my next diorama, a tribute to Walter Potter, amateur taxidermists' Kitten Tea party: dangerousminds.net...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am Ike:

Did somebody call for the freakishly sleep-deprived? Reporting for duty! SHMOW.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Sugarfly Waterloo:

That kitten tea party forces me to intone two very different "ahhs" simultaneously.
  10:31am herb:

g.morning. chk this out, i mailed my PRE-MARATHON chk on saturday! and i did my usual thing (for past 3,4yrs) of ADDING 1%. i guess you can say i'm doing it to stick it to the 1%. i hope others will say, like BONO, "i will follow". anyway, i still haven't found what i'm naming for (since my pledge gives me naming rights). take care!
Avatar 10:33am Rev. Turnip Druid:

HA! Cheri; the matching fur totally makes it. Maybe SW's wee head amongst the other fluffy biscuits...? Ike: I'm on 2.5 hours, so trying various "mental agility" exercises to keep it together. Like, "How did I get here?"
Avatar 10:34am Cheri Pi:

Instead of kittens, I use producers who are past their "prime" RTD and I are going to open up a themed restaurant/lodge in Branson, Missouri displaying our work.
Avatar 10:35am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Branson! Bobby Vinton MUST NOT BE HARMED.
Avatar 10:35am Cheri Pi:

or failed producer Steven Wilson could be the Butler who pours the tea for the kittens, too cliche?
Avatar 10:36am Chris from DC:

Digging this Nick Cave.
Avatar 10:37am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Or as a budget-conscious option, put a tiny Opeth t-shirt on one of the kittens...
Avatar 10:37am Cheri Pi:

I will spare Bobby Vinton, but someone must take his place....
Avatar 10:39am duke:

@Ike I'm also freakishly sleep-deprived. A certain bad cat named Gizmo kept me up last night
Avatar 10:39am Cheri Pi:

too true, RTD. sadly no one's art is immune from product placement as a means to leverage value.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am Planet Tyler:

Hey Liz - what's the S3 b side of the Sun Araw?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am Liz Berg:

The S3 song on this 7" is "That's Just Fine."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am Lewis:

right on the money for this morning - Thanks Liz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Planet Tyler:

Avatar 10:50am Yair Yona:

Killer track by Sun Araw
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am Mike East:

sleep deprived Mike East reporting for duty. I was thinking that Sun Araw sounded Spacemen 3-y. What's the flip on that 7"?
Avatar 10:56am sunshinerecorder:

Liz, my friend texted me to say he heard Tuvan throat singing around 9:09am. Did he mishear something else?
Avatar 10:56am Rev. Turnip Druid:

[splutters back to consciousness from sleep-deprived skull-hole at the description of Butthole Surfers/Hawkwind/Neu] .... whuz? That was BT's show? Nice...
Avatar 10:58am dcp:

dang I do like Cold Pumas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Liz Berg:

Hey sunshinerecorder, your friend heard Arrington de Dionyso throat singing Tuvan-style.
Avatar 10:58am Cheri Pi:

these Cold Pumas are alright.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Liz Berg:

Rev.: Shit & Shine are playing BT's show this week!
Avatar 10:59am sunshinerecorder:

Awesome, thanks!
Avatar 11:00am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Thanks Lizbee, that sounds like just the solution I need to all of life's problems. Not kidding!
Avatar 11:02am Cheri Pi:

I still haven't listened to BT's Endless Boogie throw-down.... I was taking a personal day.
  11:03am Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Liz and all the listeners.
Avatar 11:04am dcp:

..and Alex Calder too, also...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am Liz Berg:

Hi Richard, good to see you here!
Avatar 11:10am dcp:

this set is turning into yellowy stars..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am Carmichael:

Good morning, Liz. Hi everybody. Very nice playlist.
Avatar 11:17am Jennique:

I can't help but think BT stands for Boston Terrier. You can see where my mind is at.
Avatar 11:18am ChrisB.:

New Orange Peels record? Nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Jeezy:

Damn you, Spotify... where are the new LPs by Russian Tsarlag and Grave Babies?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Liz Berg:

Does this Ooga Boogas singer sound like young Lou Reed or what?
Avatar 11:20am Cheri Pi:

yes, he totally does LizB.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am Planet Tyler:

First thing thru my mind - Lou! Yup Liz
Avatar 11:21am Jennique:

Definitely channeling Lou Reed here.
Avatar 11:21am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Agreed on the Reed.
also, I'm assuming they didn't name the band after a brilliant Guru Guru tune, but if they did, huzzah!
Avatar 11:24am pierre:

internet is so very slwo here, so i'm going with a 32k and a "arrgh".

But still : Bonjour Liz and Lizeners !
  11:25am david from ks:

,,,that last song so unchristian-like and perverted,,,,,hey Liz Ill email my phone number ,,call me!!
Avatar 11:26am dcp:

huh...my last post was eaten by some invisible comment ghost....
  11:26am seang:

I love this song!
Avatar 11:26am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Captain Tentacle!
Avatar 11:27am dcp:

or maybe I forgot to post....as you were...
  11:28am Listener Schned:

I was thinkin' the Oogas was more Jeffrey Lewis-like brilliance!
Avatar 11:28am pierre:

@Rev. Turnip Druid: yay ! how's it going on the good ship ?
Avatar 11:30am Rev. Turnip Druid:

The ship is good but the admiral is deceased. We're adrift and hallucinating in a deep green tunnel of velvet organs.
Avatar 11:30am Rev. Turnip Druid:

I think.
Avatar 11:31am ChrisB.:

This is shaping up to be one heck of a set, Liz!
Avatar 11:33am pierre:

@ Rev. Turnip Druid: as long as it's warm…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am Ike:

Pierre, can't get Flash stream? That sure sounds better than 32k MP3 and it's fairly low bandwidth if I'm not mistaken.
Avatar 11:43am pierre:

@ Ike : yeah, I think i'll switch to that. thanks ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am DCE:

that just perked up some ears in the office!
Avatar 11:44am Cheri Pi:

flash stream never fails, almost
Avatar 11:52am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 11:52am pierre:

I like it when I barely understand the lyrics.
Avatar 11:54am Rev. Turnip Druid:

agreed, Pierre. But someday I need to learn German, so 50% of my LP collection will suddenly make sense...
Avatar 11:55am Cheri Pi:

I wonder what that would be like, to suddenly understand my own krautrock collection?
Avatar 11:56am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Seriously, CP. Like all the chatter Grobschnitt used to do between tunes on the live recordings... sounds like everyone's having a great time, but damn...
Avatar 11:57am pierre:

@ Rev. Turnip Druid & Cheri Pi : ! you guys… so at the same moment ! fantastic ! Yeah, krautrock's definitively a mistery still… it's the same with some arabic stuff, persian, and japanese stuff, I like to know what they mean sometimes
Avatar 11:58am Cheri Pi:

I can understand some (very little) of my Japanese stuff, I really like tropicalia -it uses my powers of french and latin to get most (very little) of the Portuguese meaning.
Avatar 11:59am Cheri Pi:

Grobschnitt is probably cursing the Americans between sets...
Avatar 12:01pm Van in DC:

hi bye! Missed the show!
