Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Avatar 6:07pm sFrances from VA:

Thanks Kat, & hi again! I feel better about the agency I'm going to tomorrow vs the one I was called in to today
Avatar 6:07pm sFrances from VA:

Philo: I want that poster! & to see the movie.
Avatar 6:07pm kat330:

@Philo: I was just worried to hear Obama has clay pigeon as a target.
Avatar 6:07pm kata:

Theda-kata, howdy!
Avatar 6:08pm Fredericks:

Mallard and Reggae? Far better finds than usual, Clayton. Now, Frampton?
Avatar 6:09pm Clay Pigeon:

Hello Cecile. Frances. kat, Philo, Mike --- Thanks for showing up. Just jibbering here with Fabio.
Avatar 6:09pm kat330:

Hi, WFBjr-Fredericks!
Avatar 6:09pm sFrances from VA:

I saw Ace Frehley's autobio at the library today....
Avatar 6:09pm Clay Pigeon:

You knew Mallard, Fredericks? I'd never heard of them. Wish I'd have gotten that for a dollar. Live and learn. Hope you're well, sir.
Avatar 6:10pm sFrances from VA:

(that's right, I am a person who still goes to the library....I feel like an endangered species...)
Avatar 6:10pm Cecile:

That Sequence is a great track.
Avatar 6:10pm Fredericks:

Hey, Kat. Are you ready to Dustify?
Avatar 6:11pm Fredericks:

Yes, Clay. Magic Band minus the Captain.
  6:11pm drewo:

Hi Clay! Nice summer afternoon here in Tucson. I've been selling off 7-inch singles on Ebay over the last few years. Usually in lots of up to 45 singles. From a collection that was about 400 at one time. I'm keeping about 10% of the singles and digitizing most of what I sell. It's given me a reason to play records I had not played in years.
Avatar 6:11pm kat330:

Yep, though still trying to negotiate chopsticks and the keyboard, listening, eating and typing.
Avatar 6:11pm Clay Pigeon:

The best rock bio is Sammy Hagar's. It was in the bathroom here. Scharpling was praising it as well. Nicki Sixx' Heroin Diaries are pretty good, too. In a harrowing way.
Avatar 6:12pm Philo Gristle:

Anything with Telly Savalas has got to be gold..... but methinks that's not at the library. Just went there yesterday, and picked out a bunch of movies to bring home! Also pick books, magazines, graphic novels, cds and audiobooks from their selection. And then donate tons of my own books to them to make room, make room.
Avatar 6:12pm Clay Pigeon:

Drewo. Greedinz!
Avatar 6:14pm kat330:

@Philo: That's a losing battle when you receive 4-5 new review books each week. :,
Avatar 6:14pm Philo Gristle:

Sammy Hagar's autobio had some mysteries and cosmology in it too, I believe. Not that I'll ever read it.
Avatar 6:14pm dale:

evening clay. cha cha bbq closed up fer good - starting a new venture in bklyn. i love these shows that are crazy quilt of sounds and people.
Avatar 6:15pm Clay Pigeon:

Hi Dale. Too bad about ChaChas. They had an FMU sticker on their wall. Snowing there at all?
Avatar 6:15pm dale:

my township won't add the couple of dollars tax to everyones bill to subsidize the county library so i can't take anything out of their doors. bummer. they don't even let you join on your own
Avatar 6:16pm Fredericks:

Listened to one side of Memphis Underground, yesterday.
Avatar 6:16pm kat330:

Dale, sic that intense kitty on the township leaders -- that should do the trick! :)
Avatar 6:17pm dale:

not yet. 12 -16 inches. snowmobile is gassed and on the trailer. then close to 50 next week so it all melts down. a drag..
Avatar 6:19pm Philo Gristle:

@fredericks Got the LP, the one with Sonny Sharrock on it? Great stuff.
Avatar 6:20pm Fredericks:

That's the one, Philo. And Larry Coryell.
Avatar 6:21pm kat330:

Guess it's the Flu Market.
Avatar 6:22pm dale:

peter murphys first solo album with song deep ocean was great. second album was a total stinker
Avatar 6:22pm sFrances from VA:

OMG: so many times dancing to Bela L's Dead at the old 930 club...(to the video playing on the monitors, not even a dj playing it!)
Avatar 6:23pm Clay Pigeon:

I like that "Cuts You Up" Murphy song.
  6:23pm Nate:

Avatar 6:25pm Philo Gristle:

I also had this album. It had a funny smell.
Avatar 6:25pm sFrances from VA:

I still want to read the Keith Richards bio, I've heard it's amazing. Nice to know the WFMU loo reading!

Telly Savalas rules! I picked up the Sugarman movie today & the Ken Burns Dust Bowl doc at the library.

Dale: That is crazy & sad about your library! I really miss the one back in Portland,OR :amazing book and cd collection. Crazy amazing.
Avatar 6:26pm sFrances from VA:

This is such a peppy ghetto song!
Avatar 6:27pm Philo Gristle:

We managed to see the dust bowl doc at pbs last month. Lots of fascinating stories in it.
Avatar 6:27pm kat330:

sF, we managed to see the Burns' doc in real time on PBS for once. I *thought* we had Sugarman at our library, but Philo just reported to me they don't yet. We may trek over to Louisville to rent that.
  6:27pm Nate:

Your right CP! Thanks! Got two lift tickets for ya if you can fly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Carmichael:

Clay! Getting my ass kicked here at work. Drooling for the upcoming IPA. Play something good.
Avatar 6:31pm sFrances from VA:

Right on Kat&Philo, I look forward to it. I love Depression era anything. If you've not seen Carnival, set in the depression, i really recommend it! I think Burns' doc on the Central Park Jogger/rape is going to be broadcast in March.
Avatar 6:31pm kat330:

Will we get Richard III next?
Avatar 6:32pm Philo Gristle:

Joey! Johnny! Dee Dee! Tommy!
Avatar 6:33pm kat330:

@sF: I believe it's his daughter's doc, though he's probably producing. And yes, Carnival on stage and film.
Avatar 6:33pm Clay Pigeon:

Glenn, Ike, ... Matt! Kara ... Caryn. ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm Mike East:

Oh yeah! that dust bowl show was pretty good. Great stories.
Avatar 6:35pm kat330:

@Clay: Matt had a dinner date with his 'rents -- a one-time deal at a fancy eatery.
Avatar 6:35pm dale:

i went thru a period of buying this stuff - information society, erasure, escape club, lords of the new church. 25 years has gone by too damn fast
Avatar 6:35pm Philo Gristle:

@sF: Or did you mean Carnivale, the hbo show from a few years ago?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm Mike East:

awesome...I have 666 spam emails collected. Please, no one send me anything about affordable boners or belarousian virgins that want to cune with me. I want to keep this as long as possible.
Avatar 6:38pm sFrances from VA:

Clay:Love the photo talk! I will refrain from name checking my favorites

Phiolo: yes, CarnivalE, sorry! soo good, i actually bought it on dvd (i never had HBO)
Avatar 6:38pm glenn:

he was shooting at wayne lapierre's brain. unfortunately, since it's so tiny, he missed.
Avatar 6:38pm kat330:

@Mike: At work you mean? Cause if I send you a legit mail apparently it drops in your work spam. Don't worry, I won't send anything there.
Avatar 6:39pm sFrances from VA:

@Kat: My husband has Richard III on dvd that we need to watch this weekend
  6:39pm Marmalade Kitty:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm fleep:

I guess it's all over now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Next week will be St. Valentine's Day. Do you have a special show planned for that, Clay?
Avatar 6:41pm kat330:

@sF: I misspoke about Carnival being depression era -- sorry.
Avatar 6:41pm Philo Gristle:

@sF: Is that the Olivier version? Just saw it's coming out on bluray from Criterion.....
Avatar 6:41pm Clay Pigeon:

Marmz! Always welcome ... Fleep ... welkommen!
Avatar 6:43pm kat330:

Avatar 6:44pm Clay Pigeon:

Gonna try, Ken

Roger Miller is clawing his way out of his grave.
Avatar 6:45pm kat330:

@Clay: And the week after Valentine's Day? Will you be at the helm or off for a long weekend celebration?
Avatar 6:47pm Fredericks:

Dang me. That sounds like Clay.
Avatar 6:47pm Clay Pigeon:

Not sure about that weekend, kat. Anniversary for the wife and I. 4!
Avatar 6:47pm kat330:

@sF: Are you catching any of the Shakespeare Uncovered series on PBS? Saw Derek Jacobi discussing Richard II last Friday, so the Monday announcement was timely.
Avatar 6:47pm sFrances from VA:

Philo: Yes indeedy, we've got the Criterion dvd
Avatar 6:48pm sFrances from VA:

@Kat: no, we haven't! sounds great tho.
Avatar 6:49pm kat330:

Early congrats, Clay! I thought you had your own special day on the 22nd, too?
Avatar 6:51pm Clay Pigeon:

I will officially be a senior citizen on that day, kat. 55!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm Mike East:

Avatar 6:53pm Philo Gristle:

@sF We're Criterion junkies... when we see them half-off on sale! Have a couple of Bergman films we haven't watched yet waiting for a few free hours...
Avatar 6:53pm Clay Pigeon:

Mooseter! Thanks!
Avatar 6:53pm kat330:

@Clay: Thought so! You still wouldn't qualify for 10% off at Kroger's though. Thrifty as I am, I was happy to hit that mark. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm Mike East:

@glenn- not the vintage "Ringo" kit. Sorry.
Avatar 6:54pm Clay Pigeon:

Mike, who's your band?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Mike East:

shoot me...now they're asking for a double neck guitar. I'm supposed to leave in 5 min. Goddamnit.
Avatar 6:54pm kat330:

@Mike: Heh, guess they want to show Bieber loves his milk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm Carmichael:

You're still a kid, Clay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Mike - Send them to the flea market.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Carmichael:
