...and what a divine pervert he was, among so many other things. Manson and Kinski, who had the higher body count? Remind me.... No doubt Kinski killed the spirit of many, though he most likely did not stab them with a fork.

hear about that book Kinski's daughter Pola put out? apparently Klaus raped her for 14 years. don't think it's available in English.
Avatar 12:22am

He raped Natassja as well. I have no doubt he thought it was his "right." Narcissistic beyond all comprehension.

damn I wish I could stay up for the whole show... what a build up you have going.

now i wanna watch "Nosferatu" but all i have is a VHS and my video player is busted. and even with Manson in their history, the worst thing to ever happen to the Beach Boys was John Stamos.

For those with a budget for such things, there's a pretty sweet DVD, maybe Criterion, not sure. Worth having for the full visual beauty of the film, and if one plans on repeated viewings.

N. Casio Poe:

i have the Anchor Bay VHS of Herzog's version from the late 90s. need to upgrade to DVD.
Avatar 12:55am
Wm.:

Those Herzog Anchor Bay VHS' are really good; I have quite a few. ... I find as the years pass, that I cannot watch full films on the computer. For one, my eyes are shot, and my patience for sitting in front of the small screen is next to nil. How my son watches 20-30 min. gaming clips on YouTube is beyond me; the eye strain puts me to sleep....
  12:58am

i'm the same way. i probably could if i had bigger, nicer monitor.

Enslaved are supposed to hit Portland in about 10 days, with Pallbearer! :-)
Avatar 1:18am
Wm.:

Rory, was it not thee that reminded me about The Blood Drinkers? Found a cheap, but quite-well-done DVD.

And Transilvanian Hunger, as important an album to me personally as the first Ramones album. I've heard it hundreds of times. TH and Nattens Madrigal by Ulver were my black-metal cherry poppers, and still sound amazing.

Charito not bad either. Marco has 2 beautiful women, yet he chooses the one with crazy blonde hair.

Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

Wm., you work wonders with your three hour blocks each week! Always on point.
  1:42am
Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

Any plans to design a shirt for the marathon this year?
Avatar 1:49am
Wm.:

Thanks, Adam. Sadly, no t-shirt ... the people who love this show REALLY love it, that's for sure. But t-shirts are an added expense which would come partially out of my own pocket (the station covers a percentage), and MCoQ draws nowhere near the sheer numbers of the other shows on air that offer shirts. We're a "niche" crowd, ardent and much appreciated, but the lack of massive appeal makes some things impossible.
  1:53am
Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

I definitely empathize with the dream versus financial reality disparity. I just know I'd wear that thing threadbare if ever created.

THE GOOD NEWS - My premium is a KILLER - a collection of my rarest old, obscure metal singles. Carved out with the greatest care, and not to be missed!
  1:57am

Well, I assure you, I will contribute in the name of your show this year, as I always do.
:-)))
Avatar 1:59am

Many thanks, Adam, as always!
  2:01am
Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

I seek out more albums for purchase, based upon music I hear on this show, than any other on the station. Though I love almost all programming on WFMU.
  2:04am
Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

I have no affiliation with either, except as satisfied customer, but 2nd Avenue Records here in Portland, and Aquarius Records in San Francisco got the bill quite nicely.
  2:04am
Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

"...fit the bill..."
Avatar 2:08am
Wm.:

Aquarius is great for black metal mailorder, though often titles are in short supply. I buy a lot through Nuclear War Now!, Hells Headbangers, Seed Stock (of course); many others....
  2:10am
Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

Wow! Thanks for some new resources. I always like mining through the stock at 2AR here in in Portland, Oregon. Great people and metal selectors.
Avatar 2:17am
Wm.:

If you're ever in San Francisco or Hollywood, the Amoeba stores have great metal sections, stocked by experts (i.e., über fans and guys who play in bands themselves.) Lots of great used finds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18am
Rory:

Has anyone heard of Dungeon Tapes? Is it safe to get stuff from there?
Avatar 2:21am
Wm.:

I ordered this from them directly—it came with 2-3 weeks, from somewhere in Europe. Kenneth from Smoke (and Profectum Iri) recommended them.
  2:22am
Adam in Lynnwood and Portland:

Right on! Loving this info. exchange amongst friends on the board.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22am
Rory:

I ordered some tapes from there about 3 weeks ago. I guess i'll have to be patient.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24am
Rory:

Adam, I highly recommend NoVisibleScars label if you haven't heard of it already.
Avatar 2:26am
Wm.:

Lately, International mail has been fucked from both ends, both in cost and service. It seems a deliberate attempt to quash small businesses that make minor profit (i.e., corporations can afford the price hikes, and have their own accounts with non-USPS carriers.) A trade package I sent to a guy in Italy has been held because I wrote the value in Euros differently in two places; a two-Euro discrepancy. They're busting our balls on a TRADE package, with no actual funds exchanged.
Avatar 2:27am
Wm.:

I play a lot of NVS stuff here, and yes, Bill is very reliable.

Hello William, Rory, Adam and others.

I agree with Adam that a t-shirt could be great. But on the other hands the premiums are always so good, and the next one looks amazing. I'll try to be patient and pledge to this show this year

I try to pledge early (prize account style) because of my impatience. Hahaha.

Gnarled Forest is Blue Sabbath Black Cheer's house label; apart from the parent project, they have released projects that feature the Rupenus Bros. (New Blockaders) and Stan Reed's great side project, Dried-Up Corpse. All very deluxe, vinyl editions. Check them out on Discogs.

I was doing some research for a travel app awhile back on Hollywood murders and tragedies. Visited the Tate/Labianca house and also the site of Wilson's drowning, Marina del Rey.

Great show as always. Did I tell you I got the Barghest/False split? Fucking killer, and I have a metal crush on False's singer.
