Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Amanda Nazario:

Hi Joe B.! Hi Dervish, BSI, and SA/SF! Please send some Chivas ASAP -- I'm having passion fruit tea and it is not working.
Avatar 12:19pm Brian in UK:

Hello Amanda & chums. I have Ralph Steadman as the real hero. He did a wonderful cartoon years ago with the title 'Penguins on Hearing the Death of Amelia Earheart'. Was this a Thompson influence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm listener james from westwood:

@brian: quite possibly it was all steadman. the man's mind works in mysterious and bizarre ways. he did all the illos for f&l in las vegas w/o having been in the city w hst.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Ricardo en Washington:

Steadman has an audio cut on Morgan Fisher's essential compilation Miniatures. He also had a hand in the cover art, if I'm not mistaken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Artie:

Attitudes and temperament of a hot pudding.
Avatar 12:27pm Joe Belock:

@ Doug, I can't even devour my own since the local Fatburger closed!
Avatar 12:29pm glenn:

Avatar 12:31pm Brian in UK:

@ljfw Have you read Steadman's Leonardo?

@Ricardo sixty second man!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm listener james from westwood:

have not read that one. i do like his books devoted to alcohols and the illos for "animal farm."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm S.A. from S.F.:

Wait, Amanda, you forgot to play the Move's "Call The Fire Brigade" first.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Amanda Nazario:

No more fire songs today, I am wearing polyester clothing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Rich in Washington:

This am a wonderful show, Amanda.
Avatar 12:40pm glenn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Carmichael:

Hey ya, Bob!
Avatar 1:04pm ndbob:

hey Carmichael!
Avatar 1:05pm Brian in UK:

Saw the first green shoots walking Spencer in the woods just now.
Avatar 1:07pm ndbob:

no green shoots here for sure - people in my breakfast group were teasing me re saying I would skip tomorrow - temps close to -25 and wind chill close to -50
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm Amanda Nazario:

@ndbob -- Wow, if you skip tomorrow I will not fault you at all. Minus fifty?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Matt from Springfield:

Always a happy camper when Van Beethoven is playing!
Hi Amanda and Scenarians!
Avatar 1:16pm ndbob:

for the wind chill - it gets that cold a couple times a year - I've been out in it before - any uncovered area feels like a migraine - can only stay out a couple minutes at a time - coldest temp since I've been here is -33
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Matt from Springfield:

In "To Build A Fire" Jack London said that @ -40F your spit will crack on the ground! @ -55 it will crack BEFORE it hits the ground! Stay toasty, Bob!
Avatar 1:19pm ndbob:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Matt from Springfield:

LJFW is HST! I approve!
@BSI: If you're still around, what would you name a cocktail made of Chivas and ether? :)
Avatar 1:22pm BSI:

@Matt: mixologists the world over know that cocktail as the classic "Mañana Peel" I believe.
Avatar 1:22pm BSI:

I have no idea what I'm saying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Matt from Springfield:

@BSI: Too late! Mañana Peel™ committed to memory! :D And thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Stevel:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm G:

Am I saying something?
  1:29pm marchand:

goddamnit, that was funny
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah! New Cheater Slicks! One of the loudest, most intense live acts I have ever seen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Matt from Springfield:

@G: Hmm? Did you say something?

Avatar 1:39pm ndbob:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Matt from Springfield:

"One kiss can lead to another"--which gave the title to a fabulous Girl Group comp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm listener james from westwood:

@matt: the same robey who covered "one night in bangkok" and starred in the "friday the 13th" series? giggity.
must jet out for a spell. thanks, amanda, for the midweek magic!
Avatar 1:45pm Michael Shelley:

Cant get my computer to stream right now..... frustrating!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Amanda Nazario:

Aw nuts, Michael. Thanks for (not) listening though!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Matt from Springfield:

"Cantina Blue" pretty little number from the always satisfactory HA&TB.

@LJFW: The very same! I only remember it as "The 'One Night In Bangkok' people", so I looked it up before then based on that clue! I think the song Julie started and couldn't finish was "Moth To A Flame" or something.
And have a good day! Mid-Week Magic holds its spell on us yet again!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm G:
