Evening, everyone.

Dave Mandl:

Thanks, GMMM.

Andrew Waterloo:

Good evening

Monica played Danny Kaye's *Ballin' the Jack* a couple hours ago. If you could play Sea and Cake's *Jacking the Ball* I might be able to fall asleep double-giggling.

Dave Mandl:

Hey Andrew.
sweet cheri:

hey dave, what's happening? just like gmmm said terrific start,, btw how do you like 2013 so far? i'm very happy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm

Groundhog Day is coming :)
Avatar 9:16pm
Dave Mandl:

Hi Cheri. Yup, so far so good in 2013, thanks.
Avatar 9:16pm

@BDR: I'll try, but no promises.

@G: I can't see my shadow!
Avatar 9:17pm
Dave Mandl:

Welcome to the new playlist/comments system, btw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm

Hmm, I fear my shadow is too dark to see. :) -- and I just hope I don't get caught in a loop where everyone's saying the same thing to me over and over ;)
  Swag For Life Member 9:18pm

I'm listening invisibly.
Cedar Pauls:

Knocking it out with the opening set tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm

@12539: I saw what you did there!
Avatar 9:21pm

Are you sure it's not Yo! MTV Raps?
Avatar 9:22pm

12539, Rule #1 of Lurker's Club....

Thanks. And don't stretch please - Single-giggling to sleep in better than no-giggling to sleep, so all's good. I wonder if Prekop/Prewitt knew of the Kaye song. Probably not. I'd like to think they did.
Avatar 9:26pm
Dave Mandl:

Welcome 12539, CP, MC, Droll, BDR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49pm

If I follow something that tweets, do I need to watch out for birdshit? :P
Avatar 9:51pm
Dave Mandl:

@G: On Twitter it's very possible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm

I *knew* it.
Avatar 9:59pm

[Lack of posting does not indicate lack of interest, you're competing against cooking dinner.]

I already forgot exactly what you said about Krautrock that irked me, so I guess I'm already over it, but I really wish you would be more pedantic about your Prog Rock classifications.

[Back to kitchen]
Avatar 10:05pm
Dave Mandl:

@Droll: If you won't eat dinner you won't be strong enough to keep listening. And OK, I'll try to be more pedantic!
Avatar 10:07pm
Dave Mandl:

Should be: If you *don't* eat dinner. You get the idea...

Great show Dave - Thanks for the good vibes.
Avatar 10:13pm
Dave Mandl:

Gracias, Scott. Glad you're enjoying it.
Holly T:

Hi Dave!!! great show so far. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm

Hello! Sounds great. I heard the new 91.9 FM repeater when I was up near Rockland County earlier today.
Avatar 10:18pm
Dave Mandl:

Holly! Ike! Good to see you.
Avatar 10:19pm
Dave Mandl:

Ah, our new 91.9 station. How did it sound?
de Montreal:

This show is always a delight to listen to.
Avatar 10:25pm
Dave Mandl:

@dM: Why, thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm

Like 90.1, it's a little quieter than 91.1 but not bad. I wasn't very close to it though (Rt. 17 in Ho-Ho-Kus, Ramsey, etc.) so a bit of a stretch. I'll be much closer next weekend when I go for a hike in Harriman Park.
Avatar 10:35pm
Dave Mandl:

Got it. My knowledge of Jersey geography is nil, but the new repeater station is good news. Our FM signal now hits a bunch of areas that couldn't pick us up before.
Avatar 10:40pm
Dave Mandl:

Here's a very special map showing the areas our new 91.9 signal reaches: blogfiles.wfmu.org...
Avatar 10:41pm
Dave Mandl:

Hello Peekskill, Nyack, Bear Mountain.
Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Dave and all the listeners.
Avatar 10:44pm

[Dinner over, but maybe one more barley pop]
If you know the new repeater's call letters you can use this site for mapping FM reception:
WMFU also works, I'm sure the repeater is in this website somewhere.
Avatar 10:47pm
Dave Mandl:

I believe the call letters are W220EG. We're forced to use that for some bureaucratic reason, but fortunately we don't have to say it on the air.
Avatar 10:47pm
Dave Mandl:

And welcome, Richard!
Avatar 10:53pm

WXHD vs W220EG... It's a toss-up.
For some reason they show you as W219DQ at 91.7: radio-locator.com...
Holly T:

loved that piece.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm

Hey Droll, see the second entry at that link (under "Construction Permit"). It moved from 91.7 to 91.9.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

The radio locator site says the transmitter is located in Dillyville, NY. Maybe it's good they don't require it on the legal ID. That town name sounds silly.
Avatar 10:59pm
Dave Mandl:

@Holly: Thanks.
Avatar 11:00pm
Dave Mandl:

I thought it was based in New City, but I could be wrong.
Holly T:

yayy Delta Five
Avatar 11:05pm
Dave Mandl:

If you like this: Oh-OK is next, then probably Au Pairs.
Avatar 11:06pm
Dave Mandl:

(A rare time that I know what I'm going to play two songs ahead.)
Holly T:

yes! No Wave set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Although it would be cool to here Rex say Dillyville
D in Miami:

Good evening, Dave. Fun stuff!
Avatar 11:09pm

91.9 is licensed as located in New City, while 91.7 is stated to be in "Dilleyville, NY" a place that appears not to exist.
Avatar 11:10pm
Dave Mandl:

@Andrew: He can still say it if he wants to. Maybe he will.
@D: Hey there
Avatar 11:12pm

Maybe the shack and tower visible in the satellite view in the middle of the woods of Harriman State Park is "Dilleyville."
Avatar 11:14pm
Dave Mandl:

@Snortley: That's very possible.

wow this song is epic and beaut
Avatar 11:24pm
Dave Mandl:

@matt: Thanks (or thanks to the people who made it).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

What? Out of Dillyville jokes already?
Avatar 11:26pm
Dave Mandl:

I think they're getting their second wind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm

Go ahead, guys, pick a Dilley
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39pm
Andrew Waterloo:

I've got nothing
Avatar 11:43pm

During the next 'thon, the station should sell naming rights to the new repeater and it's 10 Watt (ERP) Neighborhood of Make-Believe.
Avatar 11:46pm
Dave Mandl:

@Droll: Everything's on the table.
Dave in PA:

What's a 10 watt Neighborhood of Make-Believe?
  Swag For Life Member 11:57pm

Nice work, Dave M.
Avatar 11:58pm
Dave Mandl:

Thanks. Night, everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58pm

What isn't a 10 watt Neighborhood of Make-Believe?
Avatar 11:59pm

DM, Thanks for having us over for dinner. Have a fun week.
Dave in PA:

ahhh good point!

Man, loved that Kagel piece
