For the veggie collection:
I don't have a mp3 of it, but i am pretty sure you guys have this one: The Vampire Sound Inc. – The Lions And The Cucumber
  7:44am
Chuck:

In this instance big = FAT!
  7:44am
fred von helsing:

Neil is saying you only do this if the text files are pushing all your buttons. Which PBS clearly is. As Colbert has pointed out, reality has a well-known liberal bias.
  7:49am
Dave B:

@EvdWee - I like the way you think! I sought that one out and found it on some music blog!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49am

I think Romney saying he would pull funding from PBS, which is about the same as saying they pull it from WFMU!

MOSH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12am

  8:13am
HEAT:

good morning meghan!
  8:15am
Mike East:

If only I had a way to get you The Atomic Missiles' "Biggest Tree"...
Cool show this morning.
  8:16am
Chuck:

Query: At what point did "slam dancing" become redefined as "moshing"? It IS the same thing after all....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17am
Meghan:

Oh Mike..... you can ALWAYS send me stuff..... underwater@wfmu.org! Keep that in mind!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18am
Meghan:

I think slam dancing is slightly different where you just circle the pit. I think moshing has more "moves" like the windmill, rice picker, etc.
  8:18am
HEAT:

Where did the name Underwater Theme park come from? It sounds like a wild place. Maybe it would have kept Ariel under the sea in the first place.
  8:18am
Mike East:

yes...in this case, it would require digging through stacks and spindles of old CD's....wish I thought of it last week. And I will keep it in mind, thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am
Meghan:

ha! Ummmm, it was an old old show I did on the internet a long time ago for a station that had a nautical theme to it.
  8:20am
amEdeo:

I have begun to wonder if Jello actually could have been an extraordinarily effective politician simply because he would never stop talking, and slowly wear down and annoy everyone until they agreed with him. Jello Biafra would be the kind of president who would follow you to the bathroom just to argue at you.
  8:21am
Chuck:

That's still basically the same thing though, Meg. The question was when did the definition word change?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23am
Meghan:

wow, that is just an amazing visual Amedeo. I now want to see him following various world leaders around. talking at the urinal..... it's great
  8:23am
HEAT:

Haha!! that is great. how long have you been doing shows for? I just started listening to wfmu at work and this was one of the first shows I tuned into a few weeks ago because the name of it is magical and it has been exciting to listen to.

awww, that is great Heat! I've been doing my show at the station for about 4 years.... and a couple years on my own prior. It's my crazy obsession....
  8:25am
HEAT:

It is too bad he couldn't have been the debate facilitator last night, that would have been amusing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am
Meghan:

Chuck- maybe this wuk.answers.yahoo.com... help?
  8:25am
Chuck:

I think Helmet did this only because The Dickies did it years earlier...
  8:26am
Dave B:

I couldnt find the Dickies version... Back to MOSH - the etymology as defined on Wikipedia:

D.C. Early on, the dance was frequently spelled mash in fanzines and record liner notes, but pronounced mosh, as in the 1982 song "Total Mash" by the D.C.-based hardcore band Scream. H.R. of the band Bad Brains, regarded as a band that "put moshing on the map,"[7] used the term mash in lyrics and in concert stage banter to both incite and to describe the aggressive and often violent dancing of the scene. To "mash it up" was to go wild with the frenzy of the music. Due to his Jamaican-accented pronunciation of the word, fans heard this as mosh instead.
  8:27am
amEdeo:

@Meghan:
Jello Biafra: Asshole President
  8:28am
HEAT:

the best of obsessions!
  8:29am
Dave B:

and a little more:

Billy Milano and the band Stormtroopers of Death have often used the term mosh as an acronym for the phrase "move over shit head" during crowded shows.
  8:29am

I like how both parties in the comments of that question are arguing a bit about if moshing or slam dancing is more violent. :-)
