Hi, Irene!
Opening with Nico--wonderfull. Beautiful song, for a beautifull autumn day, here in the NYC area
  12:14pm

A perk of this chilly autumn morning in southern Indiana is warming up the house with big pots simmering on the burners and oven roasting -- all the things put on hold during a blistering hot summer.

Hi, Mike! Two different recipes of lentils/split peas. Neglected to mention the other big perk of back-to-full-on-cooking: The lovely aroma filling the house. :)
  12:29pm
DCE:

kat330:

@DCE: Heh! Well, I'm a committed conservationist -- maybe a conservationist who should be committed -- so I try to make large amounts at the beginning of the week to use and/or freeze throughout.

I did not know Wigwam when they came out. Philo put a couple of their tracks, along with several from Jim Pembroke solo, on a mix tape he sent me in the late '90s. Quite like several of Pembroke's songs.

Bob from Miami:

Thanks Irene for that beautiful Fairport track..

I agree with frenchee!! Fantastic set & commentary (as usual). Just FYI - Those of us in the 5th decade of life remember Siouxie & the Banshees. Budgie is one of my favorite drummers ever! They occupy hefty space in my iPod!

Irene:

Hadda play that Paulie track in full because it's been driving me nuts to hear it on the TV commercial!
  2:33pm

ISB according to wiki: "are musical pioneers in psych folk" -- a genre I had not heard of. Like the name Licorice.
