Listener comments!

  3:05am KP:

Hey, Bill.
Summer's almost gone.
  3:08am Martyn:

Good morning Bill, KP and all.
Long time since I heard that PLU track, must dig out the albums and listen again.
Avatar 3:10am Bill mac:

Morning Gents,
Summer's kind of going out with a bang this year. Still got hot weather, and Hurricane Isaac should be up midweek with some wetness... we sure do talk a lot about the weather here!
  3:10am Looms:

Good morning Bill, KP, Martyn and everyone. Let's groove!
  3:13am Martyn:

Talking about the weather, the rain is going sideways here.
  3:22am Steve:

Murder Ballads, wow
  3:23am Brian in UK:

Hello Bill, KP, Martyn, Looms. Good luck with the Finnish pronounciation.
  3:31am Looms:

Speaking of preniums, Bill, I would love to hear more from The Holy Sisters Of The Gaga Dada.
Hi Brian!
Avatar 3:47am Bill mac:

Hey Everybody! Holy Sisters of the Gaga Dada... hubboy, you know, that was the only song of theirs I ever heard myself, it originally came off of a SST comp I think. I'll hafta do some diggin' on them to see what else I could come up with.
  3:47am Brian in UK:

Great mix, Bill.
  3:50am Looms:

I'll try to look for more stuff too, the track you picked up is amazing.
  3:50am ifny:

Honestly, we only have good taste in radio.
  3:53am Brian in UK:

Julie Driscoll
  3:57am ifny:

Good point. Maybe we just have taste.
  4:00am ifny:

If anyone likes accordion music, my local freeform station has an accordion show called Accordion Noir -- online archives ftw! I won't crassify the comments by posting a link; you all have Teh Google I'm sure.
  4:00am Brian in UK:

Taste - Rory Gallagher? Played the saxophone.
  4:03am M:

Pohjonen was in a trio called KTU with Pat Mastelotto and Trey Gunn
Avatar 4:04am Bill mac:

I'll definitely check it out, ifny. too bad I wasn;t aware of your stuff a year and a half ago. Might have been a worthy addition to the accordion premium.
  4:19am William Swan, Jr.:

The image on the homepage right now is negative because it glorifies bullying.
  4:19am ifny:

There's always next year...not my stuff though, to be clear as mud. It's my local station -- oldest co-operative station in Canada (c. 1975). However the accordion hosts are part of my show collective (music of the resistance + a bicycle show). Kissing cousins if you will.
  4:20am ifny:

Not to mention I'm lately focusing on the kazoo (electric and acoustic). But enough about me!
Avatar 4:22am Bill mac:

Hey Will, you talking about the young lady covered in flour? They haven't even filleted her yet.
  4:25am Brian in UK:

@ifny you could hook up with the swanny whistle. Good paring.
Avatar 4:25am Bill mac:

Cool ifny, we have a kazoo expert inhouse here - he useta to do recitals with a group during his high school daze.
  4:26am ifny:

Augh Deerhoof is so amazing. Even though I don't like this particular song, I can't argue with perfection.
  4:30am ifny:

Bill Mac: any recordings survive?
Avatar 4:33am Bill mac:

I wish the Deerhoof songs were longer. The new one's a cracker
  4:34am Brian in UK:

Bill, is there a suspicion that the expert is YOU?
  4:35am Looms:

"bad clothing taste doesn't kill"... Pretty funny lyrics (and great set)
  4:35am Jay /London:

good morning Bill and all had a very late night out .. must get coffee
Avatar 4:36am Bill mac:

No Sir! My music experience doesn't extend beyond the screaming I do with Hoof n' Mouth
Avatar 4:37am Bill mac:

Hey Jay! Get Coffee!
  4:37am ifny:

Deerhoof has a few 8 min songs, but yes, often very short. I think their shortest is 8 seconds. Not even wafer thick!
Avatar 4:42am Bill mac:

Is that a play on a phrase in the infamous Monty Python Mr Creosote routine?
  4:51am ifny:

Damn! Chris Brokaw played in Vancouver tonight. But it's 1:49am now. Damndamndamn. I have no one to blame but myself.
Avatar 4:53am Bill mac:

Muchas gracias, Looms!
  4:54am Brian in UK:

ifny do not beat yourself up. I went to Dublin on a day trip, not knowing there was a huge Barry Flanagan exhibition there. I was five minutes walk away. He passed away a few years later. Still niggles me but.........
  4:56am ifny:

/me stops punching herself in the noggin
Avatar 4:57am Bill mac:

I'll have something to say about the Chris Brokaw situation momentarily.
  5:06am ifny:

Hehe thanks Bill! Glad to hear about the Oct show. You see I neglected to scroll down. No one to blame but myself for that either. <Noggin cycle begins anew>
Avatar 5:07am Bill mac:

Yeah, most of the time the hair does grow back!
  5:08am ifny:

I bet Deerhoof's hair grows back every time.
  5:15am pierre:

(I'm going to cook myself some eggs, porridge, and tea).

Bonjour everybody !
Avatar 5:15am Bill mac:

Pierre! You sneak!
Avatar 5:16am Bill mac:

BTW, sounds yummy.... hey, Pierre!
  5:18am Jay /London:

Hi pierre I am just about to do a big breakfast a fried up and lots of coffee
  5:22am Brian in UK:

Bill, I will not tease you by telling you what I am eating.
How's Paris, Pierre?
Avatar 5:24am Bill mac:

It's like kicking a dead horse Brian, the damage is done...
  5:33am Jay /London:

get your own bill this is all mine lol
  5:33am Brian in UK:

Bill, are you planning to do another London Calling like you did last October?
  5:38am ifny:

Good night all from Cascadia!
  5:38am Brian in UK:

Synchronicity, Hendrix was the first track on London Calling last year.
Avatar 5:39am Bill mac:

Take care ifny... hope to hear from you again!
  5:39am Brian in UK:

'night ifny.
  5:42am Brian in UK:

Imagine a youngster discovering Hendrix for the first time.
Avatar 5:46am Bill mac:

I wonder how much of his impact has been watered down because of all the ensuing good music that proceeded him. During his time he was bigger than life. Most musicians were
  5:47am Jay /London:

@ Brian if someone like Hendrix was on that x factor prog instead of of what they put on
  5:48am Stanley:

Hi Bill, hi everyone. Just sneaking in to say I that l'm still on holiday in the wilds of Northern England and internet is proving a problem. Looking forward to checking out the archives when I get home.
Avatar 5:50am Bill mac:

Awesome Stanley, btw I missed several of you guys last week... just sayin'
  5:50am hamburger:

Morning of the Sneaky Sneaking Sneakers.

Hey Bill and all.

Always wondered how Hendrix/Cobain others would have been like today if they hadn't died.
  5:50am Brian in UK:

Stanley, a cross border raid?
  5:53am Brian in UK:

Bill, I sent a note via the house monitor, does this mean detention? Stay behind after class and try to decipher the writing on CD covers.
Avatar 5:53am Bill mac:

@Mr Burger True what they say - if you find one sneaker there's 1000 of them behind the wall...
I always thought Hendrix would be getting paid writing jingles for McDonalds
Avatar 5:54am Bill mac:

Nah, I just can't share em with everybody today...
  5:54am Stanley:

@Brian you're right and I'm inflicting my barbarian habits onto their English genteel ways.
  5:55am Jay /London:

well it's all gone again will try and get up earlier next weeek bill .. enjoy your breakfast ..sorry i did not give you any of mine
  5:57am Brian in UK:

North of Ingerland - genteel, you're havin' a larf. Have a great time. Off to Shropshire in a couple of weeks, a place where nothing happens. Bit like Talking Heads 'Heaven'
Avatar 5:57am Bill mac:

No prob Jay, I'll be getting nourishment soon enough. The curtain closes down on yet another show. Honestly i don't know how we do it. Hopefully you folks will be here next week. Stay safe and full!
  5:58am Brian in UK:

Take care everyone. Thanks Bill.
  5:59am Looms:

Oh my! It's already noon :(
Have a great weekend all!
  1:55pm Scott Fagan:

Dear Mighty Good People at WFMU,
Thank you for playing "In My Head". I'm gratified to think that the song has reached someone somewhere. Please take a listen to 10greatsongsinsearchofanaudience.com
Perhaps (I hope) you'll find another something that you might like to share. Thanks again!
