Will we get to hear The Move's Hello Susie in this Susie Sunday Set?
Avatar 12:24am
Joe McG:

Two songs of Susie only!
Avatar 12:26am
Joe McG:

OK, here's another girl name song. By popular demand!

It's your thing, Joe, do what you wanna do!
Hi Joe and everyone!
  1:06am
Matt from Springfield:

This would make GREAT bed music!
Avatar 1:07am
Joe McG:

Hey, Matt! I'm doing exactly what I want to do. Not too many people on the comments board tonight, though, so I'll try to be more active as we converse.
  1:13am
ami ad:

Hey Joe,how you do?Hello all.Great tunes.Green power.Yeah.But what station we are listening to? hehe
  1:13am
Brian in UK:

Mornin' Joe, goin' car bootin' this AM, hence the early start. Will not take my coat off!
Avatar 1:15am
Joe McG:

Hey, ami ad! Green power makes FMU run! Hey, Brian! Car bootin' sounds like fun. Are you buyin' or sellin'?
  1:16am
Matt from Springfield:

100 Proof Aged In Soul--good singer!
More like 190 Proof!
  1:18am
Brian in UK:

Sellin'. No buying. Nothing comes home. Thats the theory.
Getting some soul going here.
Avatar 1:22am
Joe McG:

@Brian: Excellent! Well, I hope you have good luck. I'm going to be playing something from one of your "donations" later on!
  1:22am
Matt from Springfield:

Los Fulanos making this a lot more Latin, and danceable!
Avatar 1:23am
Joe McG:

Taking it to the dance floor in a way New Order never imagined, I'm sure!
  1:29am
Matt from Springfield:

I'll say!
Hey, and this mimics the tune of one of Julie's favorite bands ;)
  1:31am
Brian in UK:

Cut & run. See you the archive. Have a good week. Short & sweet, the sun is really shining here today. Cor blimey.
Avatar 1:33am
Joe McG:

@Brian: Good luck with the sale!
  1:42am
Matt from Springfield:

Loved that "Neon Rainbow"!
Now, did the Critters have any other significant hits?
Avatar 1:43am
Joe McG:

They had a couple, Matt, but that was the big 'ne. I almost played the B, which is also good, but I wanted to hear that song.
Avatar 1:49am
Joe McG:

The other big one had "Rain" in the title, but I can't remember the rest. 'Something About the Rain"? I'll go look it up!
Avatar 1:50am
Joe McG:

"Don't Let the Rain Fall Down on Me."
  1:50am
Matt from Springfield:

Thanks, Joe!
Ronnie is doing surprisingly well at pre-disco! I like most anything she sings, but she's quite versatile over many styles.
  1:51am
Matt from Springfield:

And CAMEO!
This is pre-80s funk disco! They go back far.
Avatar 1:52am
Joe McG:

They do!
  1:59am
Matt from Springfield:

"Can we go one more time?" We most certainly can! Surprise Pts. 2 and 3, YES!
  1:59am
Matt from Springfield:

Yes, let's play 'em all! (Any other parts, 4 and 5? Might as well go for it! ;)
Avatar 2:00am
Joe McG:

"Soul Power, Pt. 47."
  2:13am
Matt from Springfield:

Very sad to hear about Bob Welch. RIP.
  2:18am
Matt from Springfield:

This is a nice one; I know the more chart topping ELO-like "Ebony Eyes", but what a nice mellow "Emerald Eyes".
Avatar 2:18am
Joe McG:

It DOES give me the opportunity for the big "eyes" segueway. Silver lining, I guess.
  2:18am
KP:

I was going to say there was a long spell between Green and Welch but album wise it seems they only made one before the latter, Kiln House.
  2:19am
Matt from Springfield:

(Think of the Devil!) :)
Avatar 2:20am
Joe McG:

Yeah, it became the Danny and Bob show, pretty much, although Christine McVie wrote a lot of the tunes also.
  2:22am
KP:

Maybe too late but FM version of Sentimental Ladi is far superior
Avatar 2:23am
Joe McG:

FM version?
  2:24am
Matt from Springfield:

I like both versions of "Sentimental Lady", for different reasons. For late-night freeform, this original version obviously wins out (we can pretend that we're relaxing, getting high, and listening to FM radio 40 years ago! :)

That said, I *love* the Bare Trees album. Please consider playing more stuff from it!
  2:25am
KP:

I saw them twice before welch, second time in a club with Green coming back to replace Spencer, who left to join Children of God. That show was religious for me.
Avatar 2:26am
Joe McG:

@KP: Lucky you didn't run off and join the Children of God, too!
  2:26am
Matt from Springfield:

This is indeed a very "FM radio" cut for '72, but I believe KP just meant the original "Fleetwood Mac" version, as opposed to Bob's solo version on French Kiss.
  2:27am
KP:

The Fleetwood Mac Bare Trees version. actually this week I was surprised to hear it was considered a solo song.
Avatar 2:28am
Joe McG:

Ha ha! I thought you were talking about FM radio. It's late and getting later!
  2:31am
KP:

I was leaning on stage eight feet from the guy, I would have followed him anywhere. By far best guitar performancf I've ever seen, and I saw just about all
Avatar 2:33am
Joe McG:

Very cool. I once saw some transvestites dressed like Stevie Nicks spin around, but it's not quite the same thing.
Avatar 2:36am
Joe McG:

I suddenly do feel like I've time travelled back to FM radio circa 1971...
  2:38am
Matt from Springfield:

WTNG! Perfect transition out of this set! Love this album! :D
Avatar 2:39am
Joe McG:

Soft rock hits, all night long, here at WFMU, 91.1fm.
  2:48am
Matt from Springfield:

Ha ha, interesting 70s rock ballad cover of SHB!
Avatar 2:55am
Joe McG:

See you fellas later, I'm about to take a powder. Have a GREAT week!
  2:55am
Matt from Springfield:

Great folk rock cut! If you come back to this page, thank you much Brian!
  2:57am
Matt from Springfield:

Thanks Joe! Thoroughly enjoyable show, and have a great week yourself!
  2:57am
KP:

With Tomorrow, now you're killing me. Ultra clasic little heard Gene Clark.
