I feel underdressed :\

It's been a great dancey set!
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:03am Cruel Britannia:

Oh. I appear to have found the commenty thing. I should have been on this ages ago. Hi.

And totally, all the band names that come from song titles and album titles. It helps if you know the year of release of both, then you could have some estimation of which order is which.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:07am bronxelf:

CB - I was wondering when you'd turn up...
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:08am Cruel Britannia:

Hi Razi. Happy World Goth Day! Stil loving the Cocteaus cover, btw. What's next in the pipeline, Sir?

  Tue. 5/22/12 5:11am bronxelf:

CB- you need help.
Tue. 5/22/12 5:11am Matt from Springfield:

That was a "very Julie" cover of the Doors, for sure! :)
And thought this Can The Can sounded familiar. If I Knew Suzy...I wouldn't have to look that up!
Tue. 5/22/12 5:13am Matt from Springfield:

Ghost Dance also did that "Heart Full of Soul" cover I like--don't suppose they're still around?
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:13am Cruel Britannia:

@bronxelf I need something or other. But mostly, a cigarette. And a reason to follow up plans for World Superhero Golf Day.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:14am bronxelf:

CB- Hey I helped build the Tronguy suit.. Dont make me build another suit. *stare*
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:15am razi:

@DJCB- i am NOT YET AT LIBERTY to specify which tune is in-progress, because: reasons. I will say the artist was played on this show already this evening, and sound clips might be this week. just a few more details to see if it is working.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:15am Glovanie:

this is like the 3rd time hearing this song this month 'randomly'
Avatar    Tue. 5/22/12 5:15am Julie:

@Matt I think they were an 80s band, and had very few releases
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:17am Cruel Britannia:

@bronxelf the only suit I need in life is my black & white pintsripe 'Boardroom Killer'. I think glowy bits might spoil the image.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:17am Deadstuffgrum:

Nice work Bronx, just managed to get five minutes to have a listen :)
Avatar    Tue. 5/22/12 5:18am Julie:

hi @Julie- pleased to make your acquaintance. And your playlist!
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:18am Cruel Britannia:

@Razi fair enough. I'm still tempted to peek under the tarpaulin every nowe & then to see what you're buildin'. I look forward to it.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:19am bronxelf:

@Deadstuffgrum HI HI HI! :D
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:21am Cruel Britannia:

Ey up, Grum! It's like Twitter in here now, but accessible over works internet!
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:23am Cruel Britannia:

@Julie ...and I tried sooo hard to keep the quality level of this chat something like decent on this board. *laughs*
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:23am Deadstuffgrum:

Yep, and on WFMU,too- home of my beloved Lux & Ivy's Favourites shows.. How cool is that? !
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:24am bronxelf:

@CB try selling that to people who don't know you...
Tue. 5/22/12 5:25am Matt from Springfield:

"New Wave Goes To Hell"--if Stun Gun is any indication I think I will like that album.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:26am Cruel Britannia:

What? I have no id-oh, ...wait.
Point taken. I'm going for a smoke.

Im gonna be at GOTHIKA all day but you knew that.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:31am slugluv1313:

Tue. 5/22/12 5:32am Matt from Springfield:

I'm going to drink Jäger out of a shot glass with a skull on it!
And I've got clove cigarettes fresh from Oz, will smoke after dinner and enjoy my "Bret Ellis dessert", a clove cigarette and kir royal!
Tue. 5/22/12 5:34am Matt from Springfield:

  Tue. 5/22/12 5:35am slugluv1313:

KIR ROYAL! ABSINTHE!!! ARAK!!!! AGUARDIENTE!!!!
perhaps dig out some old Lou Reed -- after all, it was seeing a photograph of him -- maybe 1972? -- wearing the BLACK nail polish that inspired me so . . .
Avatar    Tue. 5/22/12 5:36am Julie:

Slugluv, sounds great!
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:38am bronxelf:

Gothika is always so hard to explain. but it's a virtual club- you can hear everything live on the net if you like.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:38am Cruel Britannia:

Right, back from a quick smokes. what have I missed? *pats out flames*
Avatar    Tue. 5/22/12 5:40am Julie:

  Tue. 5/22/12 5:44am bronxelf:

You missed us talking about the stupid thing in my hair earlier.
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:48am razi:

i own Kilroy, Paradise, and clearly remember borrowing Cornerstone, Pieces of Eight & Grand Illusion from the public library. (thx wikipedia) mostly remembering the Hipgnosis cover art on Po8. (music didn't age well for me)
Avatar    Tue. 5/22/12 5:49am Julie:

Paradise is the only one I have, the only one I need.
Tue. 5/22/12 5:50am Matt from Springfield:

  Tue. 5/22/12 5:51am bronxelf:

Regular listeners of my sets can vouch for my unholy love for Gary Numan.
Tue. 5/22/12 5:53am Matt from Springfield:

"Ours is a love that is unholy, undying...and absolutely nothing to do with 'Cars'..."
Avatar    Tue. 5/22/12 5:54am Julie:

I think this is our last one folks, we'll have to run on out after it. Thanks so much for listening!
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:55am ausmanx:

he has no place on the playlist today, but Julie's message board does need an RIP Robin Gibb note before the end of the show...
  Tue. 5/22/12 5:55am Glovanie:

Thanks for a darker than average night... it's kinda fitting...

Tue. 5/22/12 8:31am Van in DC:

And....a fitting tribute to both Donna Summer and Robin Gibb right off the bat to start the show...nice!
Tue. 5/22/12 8:55am Van in DC:

(right off the bat...did you see what I did there? :D )

Enjoyed the interview with DJ Cruel Brittania!
Tue. 5/22/12 11:42am Van in DC:

Julie, I think I heard you ask for someone to explain the meaning of "Can the Can" song...? Strange lyrics indeed. But I did find this:

"Micky Most asked songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman for a song for Suzi Quatro and they came up with this. When asked what "Can The Can" means, Chinn replied: "It means something that is pretty impossible, you can't get one can inside another if they are the same size, so we're saying you can't put your man in the can if he is out there and not willing to commit. The phrase sounded good and we didn't mind if the public didn't get the meaning of it.""

Tue. 5/22/12 12:46pm Van in DC:

Wonderful show together, again, as Matt said. Many thanks as always Julie, and special thanks to DJ Bronxelf for stopping by again. :)
