  3:26am Brian in UK:

Hey Bill, Looks dark out there. How're you doing?
  3:26am Brian in UK:

Clawhammer banjos?
Avatar 3:27am Bill Mac:

Hey everybody, hope your diggin' your Saturday morning... hey Brian, I was just getting a shout out to you myself. Things are rolling along here. How you doing? Clawhammer banjos? Does it really make a difference?
  3:35am Brian in UK:

Well clawhammer is the opposite to the traditional style of picking. The late Earl Scruggs, the greatest was of the trad method.
I'm home alone this weekend, Bill. Odd. Walked dog now need food.
Avatar 3:39am Bill Mac:

Does the dog need food or are you hungry? Scruggs - I believe we played some of him a few weeks ago. man they're dropping like flies this year aren't they?
  3:41am Brian in UK:

Well, BSI regular listener. What station has listeners who are artistes?
Dog has been fed ofcourse, it's me that's hungry.
Avatar 3:42am M:

another banjo player just died this week ... Doug Dillard
  3:45am Brian in UK:

@M Oh no not another one. He was quality.
  3:50am ?:

  3:52am Jay /London:

Oh!!! guess i need coffee that ? was me
  3:53am Babi:

It's not tomorrow until you go to sleep. Do naps count?
Avatar 3:53am Bill Mac:

I was going to hazard a guess that it was, but you can never be too sure... how you doing Jay?
Avatar 3:58am Bill Mac:

Words to live by Babi. Any sleep under 1 hour and 45 minutes is considered a nap and do not count
  3:58am Jay /London:

  3:59am Brian in UK:

Avatar 4:05am Bill Mac:

  4:10am Jay /London:

  4:15am Jay /London:

  4:17am Jay /London:

Avatar 4:17am Bill Mac:

Tracks for Blow Away your World were done late '80 early 81 according to the liner notes
  4:19am Jay /London:

Oh they sound like they came from the late 60s Bill
  4:21am Jay /London:

from my fav collection of the mo lux and ivy favs alway on my mp3 player
  4:22am Stanley:

Hello everyone. Hi Bill. Waking up slowly today. The music helps - 'unmistakenly WFMU' the missus remarked when she came into the room. Yeah! Thank God.
Avatar 4:23am Bill Mac:

That's right Stanley, faulty equipment and all! How you doon?
  4:26am Martyn:

Good morning Bill and all.
'Unmistakenly WFMU' ... that's got to be the quote of the week.
  4:29am Marmalade Kitty:

Good morning Bill!
  4:29am Stanley:

@Bill got a bit of Weltschmerz going this morning but it'll wear off.
  4:29am Brian in UK:

The Scottish contingent have arisen. Mornin' gents & MK.
Avatar 4:30am Bill Mac:

Hey Martyn! I was a little worried there! So we have a sidebar kind of challenge here.... CD player number 3 seems to choose to skip when I'm furthest away from any control over it, forcing me to decommission it for the remainder of the show. ... eh it's too long a story to get into.... Hey Martyn! Hi Ketty! Que tal?
Avatar 4:31am Bill Mac:

Ummm.... hello KITTY... I'm still working on the spelling as you can see
  4:31am Brian in UK:

Bill, Like 'Joy' the artist spelling looks Turkish?
  4:32am Andy in Berlin:

boy, you're just knocking them out of the park today - whammo, whammo, whammo
  4:35am Viccy - Stanley's missus:

Thanks Martyn, I couldn't agree more. I'm in the shadows every saturday while we listen to Bill so am having a moment of emancipation onto the message boards. Do you all have wardrobes full of WFMU t-shirts as well? And where is this year's SWAG?
Avatar 4:35am Bill Mac:

Andrew, good morning... I had anticipated a small audience today... thanks for dropping buy.... and... monkey could do a show here... there's just too much good material that it's almost impossible to do a bad show...
  4:35am Jay /London:

like the ( jay) track very peaceful sort of happy sound
Avatar 4:36am Bill Mac:

Hiya Vic! From what I saw on the 3rd floor boxes of it are crammed into the hallway.
Avatar 4:37am Bill Mac:

Yeah Jay, (un)fortunately we don't stay happy for too long ;)
  4:38am Jay /London:

Yes Viccy no SWAG yet here .. it's a waiting game .. .. it will be worth the wait as i have forgot what i picked now
Avatar 4:41am Bill Mac:

If it's any consolation I'm still waiting for my Beefheart Bat Chain Puller CD ordered from the Zappa website in January... what the heck are those people doing?
  4:41am Brian in UK:

Go Viccy. Get your slovenly husband moving at least to make the tea/coffee.
Got to go to the market for fish, he said smugly. There's a plaice with my name on it.
  4:43am Martyn:

Get your skates on Brian
  4:43am Brian in UK:

I'm glad you put that in whiting, Martyn.
  4:44am Stanley:

  5:14am Krypt:

Hi Bill, and all, yeah there's about 16 L&I favs out there, managed to download about half of them. The most fun listening ever!
Avatar 5:17am Bill Mac:

Yo K, yeah we have 1 thru 8 here on CD.... someone delivered them here a few years back... then I found the others and I have to track the down from the CD I eventually dropped them on a few years ago... great stuff indeed!
  5:18am M:

Lux & Ivy Favorites downloads http://kogarsjunglejuice.blogspot.com/

Bill's right it's up to volume 16. It looks like the early volumes are also being remastered.
  5:18am Brian in UK:

I'll have to catch the rest on archive, Bill. They do sound Hungry!!
  5:18am Brian in UK:

Good weekend/week everyone.
Avatar 5:19am Bill Mac:

Secrets out!!!! OK Brian, time to get bizzy!!! Until next week!
Avatar 5:22am Bill Mac:

Yeah, it sounds like those first 8 volumes were done in a couple hours. More than a few of the songs were a little chopped at the ends... still, a great overview
  5:23am Jay /London:

Avatar 5:23am Bill Mac:

You must be sweatin' it out over there Jay
  5:25am Jay /London:

  5:27am Stanley:

Loved the Firehose. Just had breakfast myself and now feel almost human
  5:37am Jay /London:

my friend johnny britten played on that subway sect session
he still plays with basnds
  5:38am Jay /London:

no not rich they had nothing
  5:41am Stanley:

Decided against going to a music festival in Glasgow today. Checked out the bands playing as I hadn't heard most of them before and was a bit disappointed. Musically accomplished but over-earnest and unoriginal. Excepting Milk Music, Forest Swords and The Phantom Band to name a few. Probably stick with FMU today and wait for the pick of the Primavera shows.
  5:47am Krypt:

Hey Stanley come down to our picture framing workshop in Yorkhill, we are having a mini FMU festival while we finish last minute work for the Glasgow School of Art degree show. Framefest!
Avatar 5:47am Bill Mac:

Hey Stan I believe the Free Music Archive has a sampler zip file of most if not all of the bands that are playing primavera. check when you got a moment
Avatar 5:49am Bill Mac:

@Jay I think I got it... the notes say "The Subway Sect weren't 'poor'. They were rich with nothing."
  5:52am Jay /London:

yeah that it bill :)
  5:54am Stanley:

Krypt that sounds great, I'll pass this on to my graphic arts pal who's also at GSA. Glad to hear you have some converts down your way. Great show again Bill. I'm ready now to face the world.
  5:55am Jay /London:

well another great saturday morning well spent hear you next week bill .. thats if i am not in hospital
Avatar 5:56am Bill Mac:

Me too pal.... hey everybody, as usual, a freaking pleasure, look forward to us meeting at the same coordinates and time next week! Take care of yourself Jay!
  5:59am Krypt:

Yeah, great show Bill, cheers. The more the merrier Stanley:)
  5:59am Steve:

Thanks Bill
