  3:07am Martyn:

Good morning Bill and all.

Another 3 hour voyage of discovery ...
  3:09am P-90:

Good Morning Bill. Sorry I'm out of the loop, but which "Jim" is having a Happy Birthday?
  3:18am Brian in UK:

Mornin' Bill, Martyn 'n P-90. After four weeks of rain today dawns with blue sky like a new world.
  3:18am Steve:

Holy schmokes
Avatar 3:23am Bill Mac:

Gents! How we doing today?
  3:27am Brian in UK:

The boys from Essex. Gotta get cracking today.
Avatar 3:32am Bill Mac:

.....and for the record we're having some of the best weather we've had up to this point this year. Just needs to be a wee bit warmer.
  3:41am Steve:

I'll turn up the dial
  3:43am Stanley:

Hello Bill and all the fine listeners. Woke up to blue skies too and happy to be back on the board after I missed last saturday.
  3:56am Looms:

Good morning too!
  3:59am Brian in UK:

Velvet Underground - great name for a band, Bill. From NY? Still sounds contemporary.
  3:59am abby in france:

hi bill, hi all. it's rained every day here since 2011. and it's cold.
  4:02am Jay / London:

Good morning Bill and all @ Brian in the Uk sun in London it will take a bit to get used to again just got back from the shop everyone is smiling :)
Avatar 4:09am Bill Mac:

Sun will do that to people Jay...
  4:11am Jay / London:

i have alway liked the tigerlilles since i saw then a few years\ ago in my local pub great live band very funny too and fun ect
  4:12am Stanley:

Mustaphas! The original and best.
  4:12am Jay / London:

@ bill its like a weight has been lifted
Avatar 4:14am Bill Mac:

@Abby... where do you live... Cherrapunji, India?
Avatar 4:15am Bill Mac:

Saw the Mustaphas in Philadelphia at a riverside bar about 15 years ago... one of the best shows I ever witnessed
  4:22am abby in france:

northern france. it's like english weather but not as good. the proof: they have sun today. sometimes the sun comes out around 10 pm just so you know what you missed all day long, but lately, not even. thanks for letting me vent. the music is helping.
Avatar 4:25am Bill Mac:

Seriously? 10 pm? Is France that far north to get sun that late?
  4:27am Jay / London:

@ abby in France the rain can not go on much longer as it will soon be June and yes the music does help
  4:28am Jay / London:

No bill abby means 10am .. I hope ???
  4:28am Brian in UK:

Keep my fingers crossed that the sun shines on you today Abby.
Colin Bass aka Sabah Habas Mustapha has made some great music in Indonesia. 'So La Li' is very good.
He used to DJ on the late lamented Radio MulitKulti in Berlin.
Avatar 4:29am Bill Mac:

She IS venting after all
  4:30am king penguin:

Coolness. Sky Picnic is from NYC.
Avatar 4:33am Bill Mac:

Nice album, KP. I never saw this before. Did Taylor and May actually sign the artwork tucked within?
Avatar 4:37am Bill Mac:

@Brian I got to get my hands on the Indonesian music at some point. I know I told you that after the show I asked Hijaz (the guitarist/violinist) how they absorbed so many musical styles... he looked at me like I was ignorant... I understand why now.
  4:38am king penguin:

Thanks! Each band got one real one. I claimed it and I'm picking up at the framing place when i get up. First i have to get down, i guess. They also gave the album its tile and wrote liner notes.
  4:40am king penguin:

This is funny .Bevis Frond was on last album we were on for label. Sky Picnic was on it too.
  4:41am Rob W:

A bit late but here's the page for Colin Bass / Sabah Habas Mustapha's label: http://kartini-music.com/kartini.php. Whenever I go to the WOMEX world music conf. in Europe I'm always happy to see Colin and Ben Mandelson (also of Mustaphas, and GlobeStyle records - see http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mhuey/ben/) among the luminaries in attendance...
  4:49am Stanley:

@ Brian did you hear his song about Arthur Askey? Very eccentric if nothing else?
Avatar 4:49am Bill Mac:

Was Ben the one whose 3M3 pseudonym was Hijaz? They were superlative players that were more than acquainted with a dazzling variety of world music
  4:50am king penguin:

"Sorrow's Children" is name of album. Sky Picnic is playing Cake Shop saturday night. tomorrow/today. They wil lbe happy.
  4:53am Stanley:

Hi Rob W. nice to hear from you. Either you're up very late or listening from some other time zone?
Avatar 4:54am Bill Mac:

I'll hafta hit the KP tune next week
  5:01am Steve:

Pussy Galore ya know
Avatar 5:02am Bill Mac:

The mind is a terrible thing to taste
  5:03am Rob W:

Up very late (well, woke up very early)...
  5:08am Looms:

Plastick Bertrand, really? This is pretty funny, thought the guy totally sucked ;)
  5:09am abby in france:

this is new, really?
  5:10am Looms:

A reissue, I guess...
  5:10am abby in france:

Avatar 5:11am Bill Mac:

Never a big fan but I thought the song fit into the confines of the show.... maybe it only sounds good next to what I'm playing... I also have to explain that reissues (such as this) are considered new to the station... Isn't PB dead? Just joking....
  5:12am Looms:

Yeah, the song was alright!
  5:27am Brian in UK:

Just got in again from walk. The swan in the local river that has been sitting on her eggs for the last four weeks or so has delivered in the last day. Cannot tell how many cygnets yet.
Avatar 5:28am Bill Mac:

We got robins on our windowsill again this year. Two eggs... seems kind of late this year...
  5:30am Brian in UK:

Henry Kaiser did a wonderful Madgascan album years ago.

Stanley Arthur Askey is a very funny man. Hello playmates.

Is this A&M produced by Manu Chao like the earlier one? Has his sound.
Avatar 5:35am Bill Mac:

I think with David Lindley? Man Brian, you would me about credits on this CD... the printing on this thing is tiny... where's an album copy when you need it?
  5:38am Brian in UK:

Sorry Bill. The worst I've seen are John Grant's 'Queen of Denmark' Impossible.
  5:45am Brian in UK:

I saw him in One Stop Records in London once. He spoke to me. What does that make me worth!!!
  5:47am Stanley:

Bill where's the magnifying glass when you need it? Discovered this great piece of equipment I use at the office. Its a ruler with a magnifying strip in the centre and it works good.
Avatar 5:49am Bill Mac:

Is it CD liner note reading quality?
Avatar 5:49am Bill Mac:

@Brian You still met a celeb, of sorts...
  5:50am Stanley:

It could be but only under a bright light.
  5:51am Brian in UK:

The little twit was carrying one of his own records and a Chuck Berry.
  5:51am abby in france:

why don't you upload it to your computer and then read it?
  5:52am abby in france:

btw, this was another really really good show.
  5:53am Brian in UK:

I second that emotion. Any sunshine yet. abby?
Avatar 5:54am Bill Mac:

You people with your solutions..... so hey look at the time... it always goes too fast... hopefully I'll see your smiling faces (providing it's sunny) next week!
  5:55am abby in france:

i know right it goes by so fast. there is sun brian but it's surrounded by dark clouds like the hairline on a bald man....
  5:56am Jay / London:

As aways Thanks bill hear you next week !!! Now to get out into the sun before it pasts by
Avatar 5:56am Bill Mac:

Wow Abby, kick a guy when he's down ;)
  5:58am Brian in UK:

Bill Can I recommend this Indonesian record by Sambasunda Quintet called Java. There is a Colin Bass connection.
  5:58am abby in france:

happy birthday to you both!!
  5:59am Stanley:

Thanks for another great show Bill. Bye everyone, see you next week.
Avatar 5:59am Bill Mac:

Thanks guys!!!
  6:00am Looms:
