Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

That's it for another episode of The Dusty Show. I hope you enjoyed it an found it to be worthwhile. Of course, I always love to hear your feedback. Email me! No! -----

I would like to extend partial apologies to Achilles and Henry, interview subjects on this episode. I talked to both of these gentlemen at-length, but as it so often happens, I had to edit out a good deal of the interviews due to time considerations. I should start including extra footage in the podcasts. Something to think about.

I hope that life is going well for you and that you'll keep tuning in when you can. It's very much appreciated. Until next time .... always remember.

  6:04pm Dan in San Carlos:

Greetings Clay! Great intro. TNP!
  6:05pm david:

adding some TNP to my chili
Avatar 6:05pm Clay:

Welcome to the TNP Dan.
  6:05pm Ralphine:

I used to mix up Bernie Taupin and Bennie Maupin.
Avatar 6:05pm Clay:

david ... good to see you on the board.
Avatar 6:06pm Clay:

Just don't be staupin, Ralphine.
  6:06pm Matt from Springfield:

SNL, MNF and the TNP.
Hey there Clay and everyone!
  6:06pm Philo Gristle:

Clay -- did you once have a Honda 90? There's a lot of them around!
  6:08pm david:

ringo would sing "boys" live would he not
  6:08pm Ralphine:

I was hoping that Fabio would play the new Beach Boys single "That's Why God Made the Radio" today, but no dice.
Avatar 6:08pm Clay:

Hey Matterhorn! Philo, my brother did. Our neighbor had a Honda 50 with pedals - or maybe it was a Sunbeam. At any rate, we're talking '66 or so. I yearned for mopeds before I yearned for motorcycles. I've never had a motorcycle. I'm too accident prone.
  6:08pm Matt from Springfield:

Yes, "Boys" was Ringo's song to sing in their early days!
Avatar 6:09pm Clay:

Yes, david.
  6:09pm Matt from Springfield:

Mind over Matterhorn! :)
  6:10pm Philo Gristle:

I'd love to have a Honda 90 -- it's the standard bike for Australian mail service. They still made the same bike until about 5 years ago... they were made to last!
Avatar 6:10pm Clay:

I like it, Ralphine. I wish I could play it. They were good on Jimmy Fallon, everything considered (and with help from The Wondermints.)
  6:11pm Ralphine:

Brian really tore up the keyboard on Fallon's show, didn't he?
  6:11pm Cecile:

hi and bye, Clay!
Avatar 6:12pm Clay:

It;'s something for him to hide behind, Ralphine. Mike Love, most likely.
  6:13pm Caryn:

Hello all!
  6:13pm Matt from Springfield:

Have a good night Cecile!
Avatar 6:13pm Clay:

Good Night Cecile. Drive carefully and have a restful evening.
Avatar 6:13pm Clay:

Hi Caryn ... welkommen!
  6:13pm kat330:

C & R: Saw them on Fallon, too, and enjoyed the performance. The interview part was sort of being on tenterhooks the whole time, watching Brian's mind wander as Love was the mouthpiece.
  6:14pm Matt from Springfield:

Hello Caryn!

Wow Clay, there *is* a real Julesburg, in the northeastern most corner of Colorado! Wonder if FMU's "Julesberg" is aware of that? :)
  6:15pm seang:

Avatar 6:16pm Clay:

We used to drive from Iowa to Julesberg to get Coors back in the day. I guess because it was unavailable locally, we thought it had special powers.
Avatar 6:16pm Clay:

That;s right, Seangula!
  6:17pm dale:

evening clay! i like this musician dude - you meet a person and never know where they've been or if they've touched a bit of history.
Avatar 6:17pm Clay:

I haven't slept since yesterday! All this prep and the show is less prepped than ever.
  6:18pm kat330:

[My C & R was to Clay and Ralphine -- was typing it before all the other C's chimed in :) ]
Avatar 6:18pm Clay:

Or if they're telling the truth, Dale?!
  6:20pm Matt from Springfield:

@Clay/dale: I love a good story, regardless!
  6:20pm dale:

yeah, right? i had peter gabriel in my car once. i wouldn't lie about that. or would i?
  6:20pm Rob from Fort Lee:

Clay, I am your #1 Fan!!!

Avatar 6:21pm Clay:

  6:21pm Marmalade Kitty:

TNP! good evening Clay!
  6:21pm The Truth:

is subjective
  6:21pm dale:

and i think this is a sweet mix job. got some politics, some music, some sound fx, some NOOOooo's....you're all nighter paid off.
Avatar 6:22pm Clay:

TY Dale. Trying to mix-it-up.
  6:23pm seang:

Occupy is the only movement that matters right now--who else is criticizing the rich?
  6:24pm brycepunk:

I love this show so much! Awesome mixing.
  6:25pm Matt from Springfield:

He NEEDS to listen to Clay!!

Avatar 6:25pm Clay:

Agreed Seang ... but those bridge bomb planners bummed me out. OWS needs peace. I haven't been able to follow that story in the last day.
  6:25pm Matt from Springfield:

Good evening, Kitty!
Avatar 6:26pm Clay:

Thanks a lot, Brycepunk. Welcome to the TNP!!!! Up next Night People, Sinners Crossroads, Dave The Spazz. William Berger's Castle of Quiet and (drum roll .............................................) STAN!!!!!!

  6:29pm Listener Dave from Seattle:

I can see the Space Needle from here!
  6:29pm Matt from Springfield:

Make a comment thread so long, it will reach the Space Needle and back!
  6:30pm rob:

Hey Clay! hip band the cucumbers
  6:31pm Rob from Fort Lee:

I haven't missed a show in 3 years! I have to applaud the FMU app for being utterly flawless. I'm tuning in right now from the middle of a beautiful park in New Jersey...listening to my DJ HERO Clay Pigeon, on the Dussssttyy Show!

Avatar 6:32pm Clay:

Doublin' Down, Rob!
  6:33pm Philo Gristle:

Oddly enough, I was researching Molotov Coctails yesterday and made a fake one (needed a photo).
  6:33pm dale:

this guy is gold! or is it a gal?
  6:34pm Matt from Springfield:

More DustyDrama!
Avatar 6:34pm Clay:

It's a guy ... old 45 from Jamaica, Queens.
  6:35pm little r rob:

Yeah, that cop counting kid is out there, far out!
Avatar 6:35pm Clay:

You got that right, Matterhorn Masterjammer Kong Supreme!
  6:37pm david:

or mentally ill person directed there by cops...
Avatar 6:37pm Clay:

Yeah ... I don't dig that violentspeak - but in the interest of presenting facets ...
  6:37pm Jerry Rubin:

gotta invoke change from within.
Avatar 6:39pm Clay:

Gets pretty uneven in the editing department past this point.
  6:40pm glasscapsule:

these montages are just awesome. what do you edit this stuff on? just curious. this is a complicated CITY.
  6:40pm little r rob:

These recordings are going to be REALLY REALLY interesting 30 years from now. Like wine or whiskey, it only gets better.
  6:41pm dale:

didn't mikey grow up to be an addict, like buffy from family affair?
Avatar 6:41pm Clay:

@Glass Capsule. A dual-cassette deck, Micro-Cassette recorder, Vinyl. Some soundbytes from laptop, but transferred to tape.
  6:41pm Ralphine:

I heard that the devil went down to Georgia. He was looking for a soul to steal.
Avatar 6:42pm Clay:

TY little r rob. TNP POWER! Andy in the Bullpen.
  6:42pm Matt from Springfield:

@little rob: The shows are invaluable to history even now! I'd LOVE to take a listen 30 years from now--I have them downloaded, I hope to open this chapter again! :D
Avatar 6:43pm Clay:

He was in a bind and way behind and he was ready to make a deal!
  6:44pm glasscapsule:

thanks. your timing is RIGHT ON!
Avatar 6:44pm Clay:

I'll be daisy chow by then!
Avatar 6:44pm Clay:

Yeah, Glass. The musician experience helps.
  6:45pm seang:

All things must pass
Avatar 6:45pm Clay:

Glass, the first half-hour is always more edit-intensive.
  6:45pm little r rob:

@ Matt, yes I agree, Im tuned in! I listen to Podcast all day at work!
  6:47pm Matt from Springfield:

Oh yeah, Mary Wing will lay this kind of funk on you! ;)
  6:47pm little r rob:

The soundtrack of my birth
Avatar 6:48pm Clay:

Mary trumped me. I'm glad it was her. Mary's cool. And OMG, Duane's show has been good of late. VEry proud to be one of the DJ's here. An honour.
  6:49pm glasscapsule:

people are so much more open and natural with audio interviews. less paranoid.
  6:49pm Matt from Springfield:

All the people here are fabulous.
(And, Duane brings the Hennessy as well!!)
  6:50pm RalphinBronwyn:

Was that Chick on the electric piano?
Avatar 6:50pm Clay:

It's the listeners that make the difference. Discerning. Intelligent.
Avatar 6:51pm Clay:

Ralphin, I'm unclear as to what you mean. My brain is a crushed waffle of neglect.
Avatar 6:51pm Clay:

Yes, Glass. I think you are right.
  6:52pm Ralphine:

Oops. Typepad got me.
Avatar 6:53pm Clay:

If I don't get the chance, let me say thanks to all of you for your interest and support. I'm always glad to see your names on the board. See you next time and much love. Always Remember - Clay Pigeon
  6:53pm Ralphine:

Chick Corea/Return to Forever in the background earlier?
  6:53pm Matt from Springfield:

Yes, good insight on audio interviews; people can focus on articulating their ideas and speech instead of worrying how they look at the same time.
Avatar 6:53pm Clay:

This was on the same EP as The Cucumbers. State of Desire.
Avatar 6:54pm Clay:

  6:54pm Caryn:

"A crushed waffle of neglect"? That is just poetic, Clay.
Avatar 6:54pm Clay:

Matt, thanks for letting me alter your name.
  6:55pm ami ad:

  6:55pm little r rob:

wacky 80s music!
  6:56pm dale:

every dj needs a sign off, like 'always remember' or 'keep the latchstring out and the dogs tied up- i'm coming home.'
  6:56pm Matt from Springfield:

No prob, Clay. You always give a funny spin to all such alterations! :)

Thanks for another amazing program Clay!
Have a good night everyone!
