  6:33pm Philo Gristle:

Wasn't Pete Bagge connected with Arcade, too? Or was it something later?
  6:40pm Ike:

Wow! "Thank you for letting me leave this ticking time bomb on King Features' doorstep"... awesome quote. Ha!
  6:48pm slugluv1313:

YES!!! I AGREE! WHAT A MOM!!! thoroughly enjoying this interview . . . LOVE the description of Levittown -- "a great place to escape"!!! i actually had to study the Levittowns while in college (sociology/urban studies classes, about 30 years ago) -- as "failures" in suburban planning . . . ! THANK YOU Mr. Griffith, for giving so many of us years of ZIPPY fun! :)
  6:53pm David Shortell:

Bagge wasn't yet published when the 7 issues of Arcade came out in the mid 1970s; but he was later featured in Comical Funnies, Stop! and Weirdo.
Then he got his own mag: Neat Stuff.
  6:55pm Asparagus:

Evelyn Waugh: EE-vuh-linn, and he's a he.
  6:55pm Philo Gristle:

Neat Stuff & Hate are great -- I remember him being an editor of one of the mags for a while... maybe Weirdo. COuld google, but listening too closely. Great interview.
  6:56pm kat330:

Disney dodged a Peewee bullet. Zippy dodged a Disney bullet.
  6:57pm Caryn:

@Asparagus: yep, when it's pronounced like that, it's always a man. When it's Eh-vlin, it's a woman's name.
  6:57pm kat330:

@Asparagus: Actually I think two syls. are preferred.
  6:58pm Hream:

Great interview
  6:58pm Hream:

Great interview
  6:58pm David Shortell:

Yup, R Crumb chose Pete to succeed him as editor of Weirdo --the best period of that magazine. Then Crumb's wife Aline followed Peter as editor.
  6:58pm vanya:

how do you spell it? STUBBLE? i
  6:59pm David Shortell:

The Dingburg strips remind me a bit of "Tales of the Bizarro World".
  7:00pm Philo Gristle:

Wonderful, thanks Benjamen and Bill!
  7:00pm kat330:

Thanks Ben & Bill!
  7:02pm Caryn:
