Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

This show was recorded in Central Park (NYC), Saturday, April 14, 2012. Occupy groups from all five boroughs converged on the park for protest, merriment and to interact with a curious public. Later in the program, I recorded a Tax Day protest, April 17, 2012, at 8th Ave. and 33rd St. in Manhattan in the James Farley Post Office vicinity. David Peel was recorded at Union Square Park, Monday April 16, 2012.

I ran the tape a little slow on this episode, which is probably why it ran longer than I thought it would. Because I use an old dual-cassette machine, I use vari-speed control at WFMU to compensate for the difference between the station's deck and mine. Complicated! Analog! Little ... Yellow ...   Thanks for listening to this show. I hope you liked it. I was pleased to utilize a lot of new (old) music on this episode. I feel like I am getting a good formula togetherr, mixing Occupy and Activist audio with music. Hopefully, it makes it better for you. I'm still digging the Occupy angle. Can't believe it's been since September. I appreciate your hanging with me and checking it out. Let me know your thoughts. I really enjoy hearing from you and value your opinions.

For those of you who pledged for the Dusty Show premium, you should be receiving your CC4 packages soon. I've got my copies and they look great (except the red back cover, which I should have made the same color as the front. Whatever. Anyway, I'm proud of it and pleased with how it turned out, though I am somewhat horrified that I included the Clay's Covers CD. What was i THINKING!?

I hope you have a nice week until next time. I am always so grateful that you stop by. It means a lot to me. Take care my friend, and ...

  6:21pm Caryn:

The flipside was really appropriate lyrically, Clay. Nice!
  6:21pm listener mark:

Hello everyone!
  6:21pm glenn:

  6:23pm Matt from Springfield:

@glenn: You'll soon be seeing Lemuria and Atlantis in THAT atlas!

Marching band style "We're Not Gonna Take It"!
  6:23pm Caryn:

@Matt: yeah, I'm just waiting for an OWS interviewee to make a "Dollas, Taxes" pun.
  6:24pm Caryn:

Maybe I should've put an r in there...
  6:25pm Matt from Springfield:

@Caryn: No, "Dollas" makes the point, and doesn't confuse it with $$=taxes!
  6:26pm sfrances:

@Matt:I know, it's going to be awesomely awkward if anyone there asks my name...;)

  6:37pm miss cheri:

hiya clay & caryn,,, caryn i'm sorry i ran out on you the other day,,
  6:38pm Caryn:

Just as a sidenote, I think "Behind the Green Door" is head and shoulders above "Deep Throat" in quality. Even if it did introduce the concept of the "cum shot". But it did even that in a nice, psychedelic way.
  6:38pm sfrances:

Clay: Totally appreciate your comment about editing just now
Avatar 6:38pm Clay:

I've been talking to Ken here. Continuing phase problems with my micro-cassette and cables. He says if you listen in mono, anything I did on cassette drops dramatically in volume. I haven't noticed. Now Radioshack has discontinued the model of micro-cassette i use. I can still buy them from this online clearing house I found. Trying to keep things analog for you guys. Ain't easy! You wouldn't believe the glue and bailing wire Dusty is held together with.

Really happy to hear the brief nod to Occupy ADA. It's bonkers to me how many people here in RVA are locked out of establishments by one simple step ie no ramp.
