Listener comments!

  3:07am Brian in UK:

Mornin' Bill. This is a blast from way back. Were Magma a French band?
  3:08am tc:

they were barely from earth
  3:13am tc:

planet Kobaïa
  3:14am Martyn:

Good mornig Bill, Brian, tc and all.

Magma were something else, though what else I'm not sure.
  3:15am Jay/London:

good morning Bill well this woke me up!!!
  3:19am Martyn:

Man! Man Man!
Avatar 3:32am Bill Mac:

Hey!!!! Yes Brian, Magma were a French band.... Greetings from planet Kobaia one and all!
  3:38am Brian in UK:

He seemed like a sad man at the end.
  3:46am Stanley:

Morning Bill, commenteers and everyone. Bit busy this morning, getting ready for a trip to the Scottish Islands. Am I right, Martyn, you're from those parts?
  3:49am Martyn:

Stanley, you're right, more or less. Not the islands exactly, but close by.
Which islands are you visiting?
  3:56am Stanley:

We're staying on Lismore and we also have a trip to Mull planned to check out the wild creatures you find there.
  3:57am tc:

  4:01am Martyn:

Stanley, that sounds fantastic. You'll be passing through Oban then.

tc, I think the leprechauns all went to Ireland when St Patrick drove the snakes out. It was an exchange programme or something.
  4:01am Jay/London:

good uplifting play list bill :)
Avatar 4:02am Bill Mac:

Yeah, we got em now....
Avatar 4:02am Bill Mac:

Thanks Jay... starting early today.
  4:03am Andy in Berlin:

Avatar 4:04am Bill Mac:

Yeah Baby!!! Trying to get a bit of comedy in today for a change
  4:11am Jay/London:

yeah bill i did not sleep much as was /am in pain .. so your show is a godsend for me .. i have never heard moms mabley before can you play another track at some point ?
Avatar 4:12am Bill Mac:

@Jay Sure, let me see what I can find
  4:14am Stanley:

Martyn you're right. And we can't wait. Hoping for fine weather.
  4:18am Destroit:

Hello all, love this show, if you're gonna do comedy, I'd suggest Patton.
Avatar 4:19am Bill Mac:

Hey Stan have a nice trip.... what's on the islands? Is it vacation season yet?
Avatar 4:20am Bill Mac:

@Destroit - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Patton......
  4:22am Stanley:

Hi Bill. It's the university holidays and Viccy's a lecturer so we take the hols when she gets them. Otherwise, not really, its still rather cold up here.
  4:25am Destroit:

Avatar 4:27am Bill Mac:

Still, I like going away during off-seasons myself...
  4:31am Stanley:

The islands are very beautiful and wild, home to lots of wildlife and not many people. I am told that the animals are used to all types of weather and that bad weather makes no difference to them. So fingers crossed we'll say hello.
  4:32am Destroit:

Thanks Bill, great radio.
Avatar 4:34am Bill Mac:

I just wanted to see how sad This Mortal Coils It'll End in Tears was.... now I want a KFC Bowl
Avatar 4:36am Bill Mac:

@Stanley - Truly awesome. I've got these aspirations to go to Greenland some day, just to experience what life opposite what we do.
  4:39am Brian in UK:

Stanley, have a good trip. We are going to Dumfries & Galloway in the summer, staying near Newtron Stewart.
Did not realise it was a Dark Sky Park.
  4:39am Brian in UK:

Comedians or monologists?
  4:42am Stanley:

Hi Brian Good choice. I lived in darkest Dumfriesshire for 15 years. Saw the aurora borealis a few times. But it was the severe winters that drove me to the city in the end.
  4:44am Brian in UK:

Anything special to look out for Stanley? Apart from peace & quiet & Stranraer!!!
  4:45am Brian in UK:

Doo-Wop. Frank's first love?
  4:46am Destroit:

Good show Bill, really good.
Avatar 4:48am Bill Mac:

His first, not last however... he got more into composing in the late 80s.
Avatar 4:48am Bill Mac:

Thanks you D! Great PO request btw
  4:49am arne da torino:

peggy march?!? die entdeckung des jahrhunderts?!!? bill, this is incredible!
  4:49am Stanley:

Natterjack toads on the coast, red squirrels everywhere, raptors galore. Sweet fishing villages, Robert Burns, Tibetan temples and the legend of Sawney Bean the Galloway cannibal (no kidding)
Avatar 4:50am Bill Mac:

Hey Arne! Yeah, good German female vocal comp 4 sure....
Avatar 4:50am Bill Mac:

Sawney Bean huh?
  4:52am Destroit:

I'm in your hip pocket bill, and I'm comfortable with it. So stupid:)
  4:53am Brian in UK:

Hey Bill, when is the yodeling special scheduled for?

Thanks Stanley, I'll keep an eye out for Sawney. There's a camera obscura in Dumfries I want to see. Been to the one in Edinburgh.
Avatar 4:58am Bill Mac:

We do have a yodeling cd.. I could put it through the reverb wringer so it'll appeal to everybody
  5:12am Looms:

Hi Bill! Jean Rollin was a movie director, not a composer.
  5:21am arne da torino:

bill, if ever you find time you should check out calibro 35, a band from milan, italy, doing lalo schifrin kind of tunes, some actually being covers of original italian movie themes from the 60s. i heard them live by chance the other day. might fit in nicely in some set of yours...
  5:22am Jay/London:

just love this monty python
Avatar 5:28am Bill Mac:

@Arne Thanks for the tip... I'll have a look for them.
  5:28am Deepak:

interior Monologue was amazing, thanks Bill.
Avatar 5:32am Bill Mac:

@Jay Can't get away from the Pythons - they were practically rock stars back in the day...
Avatar 5:32am Bill Mac:

Hey Deepak, thanks for coming by!
  5:43am Jay/London:

yes bill they did tours as well and one of the live right next to me so i sometimes see him on the heath in the mornings runing about while i have breakfast at the heath cafe
Avatar 5:48am Bill Mac:

I was wondering if any of MP are capable of running (or silly walking) at this point.... They were HUGE here in the early 70s... I don't know of any other comedy group that broke in an international way.... awesomely creative and funny...
  5:54am Jay/London:

oh yes i see Micheal running on the heath and the other week he did a hopathon on the running track it was filmed for the local news .. it was for the release of his tv series RIPPING YARNS
  5:56am Jay/London:
