Paul Sherratt:

Should I have another coffee ?
  12:22pm
Hugo:

I saw the AEC for the first time at the medieval Haakon Hall in Bergen. Those guys in a Nordic European medieval setting - perfect! Years later he played in town with a local brass band and with Moye and Myers. I was at home baby-sitting, but my wife was there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm
Doug Schulkind:

Staying home with the babe so dear wife can see the Art Ensemble. You are a credit to your gender, Hugo.
  12:27pm
Hugo:

Alas, at the time I did not count on him never coming back. This was 1994, I think, but there you go, you can't have it all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
Doug Schulkind:

Do NOT call the station and ask for the catalog. This show is 17 years old.
  12:33pm
Carmichael:

OK, I hear Steinski, I see comments, I feel achy arm muscles. All is well.
  12:33pm
listener james from westwood:

"i hate adjectives"—i feel the same way about adverbs.
  12:34pm
Carmichael:

I hate gerunds.
  12:34pm
listener james from westwood:

fucking gerunds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm
Doug Schulkind:

I hate fucking gerunds. (Now fucking an adverb = bliss.)
  12:37pm
listener james from westwood:

hating fucking gerunds ≠ hate-fucking gerunds.
  12:38pm
Van in DC:

Wow. I was JUST googling "moose" during that
  12:38pm
listener james from westwood:

Paul, I came across a Roxy Gordon lp in a second-hand shop in town. I'll drop by tomorrow to see if they still have it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
Doug Schulkind:

Nice, Hugo. I have never even seen a Roxy record in person.
  12:53pm
Van in DC:

St Patrick's Day sure snuck up on me this year... It's tomorrow? Wow.
  12:53pm
Paul Sherratt:

Hugo.
The owner will have died. Buy it !
  12:55pm
Andy S.:

Trivial question: How come some playlist entries don't have label identifications, cf. Beastie Boys (Def Jam/Columbia) and Booker T. & the MGs (Stax)?
  12:57pm
Hugo:

@paul: I will, unless some other schmuck has grabbed it in the meantime, but not very likely. Not a household name, unfortunately. Terry Allen was a fan, unsurprisingly.
  12:58pm
joe:

Froggy the Gremlin what a great track what a great name.
  12:58pm
listener james from westwood:

sounded like the midwestern croak of bill burroughs saying "smile" back there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Doug Schulkind:

Good question, Andy. I don't have the time to go hunting for all the info. I preview each show and write down all the info Steinski provides (and add whatever info I happened to know). I am not crafting this playlist with the completist approach that I apply to my GTDS playlist.
  12:59pm
still b/p:

Nora must not have liked an adjective humper like Carroll .
  1:00pm
joe:

I'm trying to read the John Oswald Plunderphonics essay and the damn type is so small I had to print it out. :)
  1:00pm
Paul Sherratt:

Hugo,
It'll be a UK release I'm guessing. Let us know asap !!!!!!!!!
  1:00pm
Hugo:

I like that phrase - completist approach.
  1:03pm
Van in DC:

Thanks Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm

iirc one could also have purchased the beau hunks record behind steinski in the long-lost catalog of curiosities, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
Doug Schulkind:

ydrc, ljfw!
  1:07pm
Hugo:

@paul: I suspect it was "Crazy Horse never died" - from memory. Didn't notice the label. Anyhow, I'll find out.
  1:07pm
joe:

which show is thid Doug?
  1:10pm
Paul Sherratt:

Hugo,
It will be that Crazy Horse - the only one committed to vinyl, I'm pretty sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
