holy crap, that's a lot of hollerin'
  12:05pm SmokinJ:

Greetings Joe and all R&R scientists worldwide!
  12:06pm SteveL:

For Joe's about to rock, we salute him.
  12:06pm John L.:

I don't suppose you have a copy of Neil Young and Crazy Horse doing "I Saw Her Standing There"? If anyone had it, I thought it might be you.
Avatar 12:12pm Joe B.:

Hi Pat, J, SteveL and John! thanks for tuning in! last regular show until after the marathon!

John, haven't seen anything on youtube for that. I guess for once people just watched the show instead of trying to capture the moment!
  12:12pm PFFlyer:

whoooH! Up at 5:30 a.m. CST & still almost didn't make it to this FAnDanG-U-Lar show, known as THREE CHORD>.......! Thanks for letting me in the door, door keeper!! @JL....if the mighty Joe B doesn't have it, might I suggest contacting The Turf Club, St. Paul, MN...except it has changed management last year or so...they were HUGE fans of Neil.
  12:14pm kat330:

Happy Valentine's Day, Joe! [will be back when lunch is done, but can still hear the fine commotion!]
  12:16pm SHIMMY:

wait, something good was on the grammys this year? noooooooo! how could i miss this.
  12:17pm Aldo:

Anybody know who sang that song about Booker T?
Avatar 12:18pm Joe B.:

Hi aldo, it was crankshaft and the geargrinders

Hi shimmy! the Neil thing was at a benefit called musiccares. hi kat, PFF!
  12:19pm Aldo:

Grazie
  12:21pm Marmalade Kitty:

Hi JoeB! whats all this valentines bizness?
  12:21pm jljl:

How did I know this would be the Fadeaways covering Busy Body? Love this song. What's it from? How did you get so much of their stuff? They just had a 7" in Boston, maybe they'd just sold out of a CD.
  12:22pm SHIMMY:

ah, i'll wait for the bootleg to show up on the rust list then!
  12:28pm king penguin:

You sure Terre doesnt have you confused with somebody who matters?
  12:29pm PFFlyer:

Just drove a V6 2005 Mustang....I'm so sorry to report...it KICKED the average Ford Mustangs butt in all areas of performance, comfort and ergonomics. I feel like giving away our 66 'Stang V8 compared to the 1 I just drove...reality BITES! Anyway, this post ain't about cars, dammit! It
s about car music! And Tom-Tomms! And naked chicks....oh....I went 2 far again... OK...It's about beer! And nak..oops...cold beer! YEAH!!
  12:29pm SteveL:

Happy Ballentine's day!!
  12:29pm SmokinJ:

Someone say beer? YES!
  12:30pm king penguin:

Please beer with us.
  12:30pm Jasper Johns:

I approve...
  12:31pm rubble:

I like beer!
Avatar 12:31pm Joe B.:

KP, i'm sure she will come to her senses!
  12:31pm PFFlyer:

Now, "reach for a Hamm's, the beer refreshing!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o83xxWCel8g
Avatar 12:33pm Joe B.:

Rubble!
  12:33pm tim from champaign:

Damn, I really need to clean out my ears. I kept hearing valentine with a "v". Now that I see it written out as Ballentine, it makes so much more sense. I'm getting my wife a cold one today. I'm sure I'll get cold-cocked in return.
  12:33pm king penguin:

The Ballantines symbol sort of looks like a Valentine's heart, to Joe B.
  12:33pm Marmalade Kitty:

make mine a cider!
Avatar 12:34pm Joe B.:

Hi Kitty!, Hi Jijl!, they left a couple cdrs, no 7-inches. what songs are on the single? Tim, not to be confused with the champagne of beers!
  12:35pm kat330:

Just had a feed outage -- anyone else?
  12:36pm kat330:

@tim: A cold shower will help that.
  12:36pm jljl:

Hi Joe, 7" is [I Wanna Get Some] Action b/w That's the Way My Love Is
  12:36pm Mike East:

  12:53pm Marmalade Kitty:

  1:03pm joe:

  1:04pm Mark in DC:

Thanks for the Laura Cantrell. One of my favorites anytime, anywhere.
  1:06pm geok:

Laura is so talented! Love that tune.
  1:06pm kat330:

This whole lovin' set has been the best, Joe!
Avatar 1:06pm Joe B.:

it's about to go downhill quickly!
  1:09pm SHIMMY:

What is the deal with 'Diesel Only' records anyway? I have a couple of 7"s with an address listed on N 6th St in Williamsburg from around 1990. Was there some sort of altcountry scene in North Brooklyn at the time? Or was it just the location of the studio?
  1:09pm ?:

ahhh . . . Haven't heard from ol' Bill Shatner in a while!
  1:10pm kat330:

Those strings are actually the worst part of this!
Avatar 1:11pm Joe B.:

Shimmy, there was a cool country-ish rock scene around Diesel Only circa 1988-1991. The label was run by the World Famous Blue Jays, who were a kick ass band!
  1:11pm KP:

My favorite version of my favorite song!
  1:13pm drr:

N. 6th is where Coyote Studios was. I remember going there when it seemed real far away and hard to get to...
  1:13pm joe:

Joe B was up at the station a few Tues ago stuffing envelopes was hoping to say a real live person hi but it was not meant to be :)
  1:16pm SHIMMY:

ah gotcha. the address on the sleeves i've seen is for the label, but could have something to do with coyote i guess. they thank the brooklyn brewery (with logo!) also.
  1:19pm PFFlyer:

Nice save, ROMANTICS in RED! Saw them, albeit alone (shucks!)...in the red leathers back in the day and a couple time since then! Had to head to the toilet to hang my head on that Canadian known as Bill S. Sorry 4 the graphic detail.
Avatar 1:20pm Joe B.:

saw the Romantics then and now, every time they are awesome.
  1:20pm SmokinJ:

10-4 to that.
  1:22pm John Brooklyn:

Coyote was on N.6th. Albert Caiatti was the drummer in the World Famous Blue Jays, at least at some point. I thought Diesel Only was more or less the inhouse label for Coyote. And they had some sort of "in" with juke boxes in truck stops or something. Cloudy recollections.
  1:22pm Marmalade Kitty:

top kinks song!
  1:25pm PFFlyer:

now please play "Tell It to Carrie", or I really will show up in Jersey City and mix up your town! (Since I really can't afford to get to France, or even off the block this week...I'd interpret my J-city threat as a non-threat). A bit O' humor to a non-humorous worl....now, back to BEER commercials!
  1:28pm Marmalade Kitty:

Any Buzzcocks, Joe? ..
Avatar 1:29pm Joe B.:

sorry Kitty, library is 2 flights down! ''PFF, if you come here you might run into Snooki!
  1:34pm Marmalade Kitty:

aha! :) It's ok joe, Crimson Shadows was my second
thought!
  1:38pm king penguin:

I concur. Pretty good show!
  1:40pm wildneil:

Clovis! I lived in Clovis, NM for a while, went to the Doctor/Vetrinarian in Texas when I was sick one time....
  1:43pm PFFlyer:

I respond to Snooki et al: Those little legs might kick my butt! Can't watch that show, but I have such a strange attraction...to her...so mezmorized! It's the VALENTINE CURSE! Anyway, the version I first heard of Carrie is here 4 you looky-Lous', both now and in perpitude (I tried...perpitude means forever, sorry linguists', English majors...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3hdS0mdIw God, I'm workin' harder than our illustrious and talented DJ, mr. Joe Belock today to get it right. By the way, FB fans, 'yup, I'll pick her up after 5 pm and yup, I know she's on the news tonight in the upper tundra known as MN.
  1:54pm MD:

Yeah BABY!!!! "The Blood!!! The Blood!!!!"
  1:57pm PFFlyer:

thank you...thank you 4 restoring my faith in the east coast and rock, and roll....in that the girl laugh's in his face over such a trivial top 40 event. Joe, you're the eptome of.....you know. and now CUT THAT F'in RUG 2 The BORN f'reeekin' LIYIN' LIARS!
  1:59pm John Brooklyn:

Dexateens?
  1:59pm Mr Personage:

I always hated Billy Crystal.
  2:04pm Cheri Pi:

Does anyone use windows media player to listen to the show? I just lost access to real player (no longer supported). No itunes either at work.
  2:07pm Mike East:

@Cheri Pi - I do - for the same reasons. Sound is not great, but it works.
  2:07pm wildneil:

Clovis is a dusty, boring town...sorry Clovis
!
  2:10pm Madi H.:

@Cheri, if you can download software you can probably find a free player to download at CNET dot com.
My sincerest sympathy -
  2:12pm Cheri Pi:

I'm gonna have to swweet talk our IT guy-no downloading of software anymore. Aarrgh! But I'll try the Windows MP tomorrow.
  2:14pm drr:

I highly recommend the iPhone app, if you have an iPhone. Works great.
  2:16pm Cheri Pi:

I'm due for a phone next month, going to pick a droid or I-phone depending on which will travel better to Japan.
  2:16pm Mike East:

I saved my one IT favor to have him approve me downloading Silverlight so I can watch netflix when I work the night shift. Maybe next year I'll earn another favor and get itunes.
  2:17pm Thierry:

Hi Joe! You mentionned Dave Schramm a while back.. wikipedia tells me he plays on Syd Straw's annual Valentine's day "Heartwreck" shows. I used to like her a lot! Any infos on these shows? Where? What years? Thanks in advance.
  2:20pm PFFlyer:

@C Pi, i just checked all the "Live Audio Streams" available from WFMU's site (http://www.wfmu.org)....so no BS, DUH factor here.... I hit all the streams available, "Flash, 128, 32K MP3, 24K Real, and 24K Windows" They all work depending on your personal needs, such as controlling treble, bass, blah blah blah... Anyway, the updates for your computer are lurking behind so many available internet functions, I can ONLY recommend what I use while I do so many other computer tasks (banking, FB, porn.....NO...I didn't mean that...no porn!!! Ha, yeah....ha ha.....) Anyway, get a half-assed computer frien' and relax to the complete sounds of WFMU JB. BTW...I prefer my HiFi console, but who am I???
Avatar 2:20pm Joe B.:

hey DRR!

Hi Thierry, don't know about those shows, sorry!
Avatar 2:21pm Joe B.:

Hi John Brooklyn, sorry don't have Dexateens here today. But I can say that Lee Bains of the Dexateens will be here April 10 playing live with his new band the Glory Fires!
  2:25pm Cheri Pi:

thanks PFFlyer!! and all for chiming in on this most pressing issue!!
  2:27pm John L.:

I don't think Syd Straw is doing one this year. Last year, she did it up by me, in Bearsville, with Dave Schramm, Eric Ambel, and local musicians Sara Lee and Jane Scarpantoni, among others.
  2:28pm PFFlyer:

oh crapola...I just realized...I'm the only man in the US of A who's unemployed. Yet...so much to do, like update our computers. I'm truly blessed! Thank you rockn' gods! Born in the very early sixties, hearing the Joe B sounds, and rockin' all the way up to .....right now! That's what the FB'rs mean when they say "I'm living the life!". Anyway, every Tuesday 'til the amber lights show stage, pre-stage, in April! Thanx commentators for the learning curve!
  2:31pm PFFlyer:

and now, to throw the curve ball...."scratch, and sniff". Gettoutta' here and seek your Valentine, dang it!
  2:32pm Thierry:

@John L.: thanks for the news!
  2:38pm PFFlyer:

  2:38pm SteveL:

  2:43pm wildneil:

  2:44pm Nanker de Tucson:

Avatar 2:48pm Joe B.:

  2:55pm John Brooklyn:

Next week... how 'bout some Sneetches?
  2:56pm kat330:

Thanks, Joe, and B. good!
  2:57pm Joe B.:
