I was appalled by the spot, not just because I am a cat lady but because the guy came off as such a jackass. Death is not funny. When I was a kid I saw my new little kitty Pele killed by my neighbor's dog. My neighbor's were jerks but they at least tried to help. I signed the position and included the story... Coca-Cola please.

Type in "cat owners are" into the Google search box and see what the auto-complete comes up with. My first result was "cat owners are WEIRD". I think that sames something about prevailing or at least common attitudes towards cats and their owners.

In most cartoons, the majority of cats are female, the majority of dogs are male. Sure there are exceptions (like Garfield), but the rule remains.
Also, cats are often evil or owned by villains (like Blofeld), dogs good. "Cats vs Dogs": evil cats plan world domination, good dog agents try to stop them.
