Listener comments!

  3:05am Adam in Portland:

Bill, you can have our snow. We're heating up our piece of the sky out here. Just leave a few trays worth of ice for us, and a large portion of your musical interests.
Avatar 3:10am Bill Mac:

Hey Adam,
I'm hoping that we can keep the white plague to a minimum. I think we're sposed to get 1-3 inches up near New York but just wa coating down near where I live...
  3:10am Marmalade kitty:

Morning Bill, Adam!
  3:11am Martyn:

Good morning Bill, Adam, MKitty and all.
Wouldn't mind a bit of snow here, it would make a change from the rain rain rain.
Avatar 3:12am Bill Mac:

MK!!! You're throwing me off... now I have to be entertaining for almost 3 whole hours! Morning Martyn. Looks nice out back... All the grey crap has a nice clean look right now.
  3:16am Adam in Portland:

I've had my fill of driving in it at this point, though it has been quite beautiful. I'm spoiled by, or tempered by, or both, a childhood in Alaska. Heyyyyy, MK! You're never cold! :-)
  3:17am Adam in Portland:

Martyn, wonderful to see you as well!
  3:18am Adam in Portland:

This Gary Wilson would've fit in perfectly within the Dâm Funk DJ set I went out for a few weeks back.
  3:19am Adam in Portland:

Well, probably. Hahaha. But, anyway, I love it!
Avatar 3:20am Bill Mac:

Gary certainly lends himself to a variety of different realities... diggin the track myself.... hang up the phone!!!
  3:21am Adam in Portland:

He's busy...chrome loving.
  3:23am Adam in Portland:

Steely Dan/Gary Wilson: the Heavey Metal tour.
Avatar 3:25am Bill Mac:

I can dig that.... cept I LIKE Gary Wilson.
  3:25am Marmalade kitty:

Thanks Bill, you always entertain us! It's great to catch y'all live, feels like ages!
  3:26am Adam in Portland:

I do too. Both. Just on a double entendre sex toy jag. Ha!
Avatar 3:26am Bill Mac:

I has been awhile... or two... always good to have you by!
Avatar 3:27am Bill Mac:

Likewise to you Gents!
  3:36am Madi H.:

I sure do like your show. Thanks!
  3:41am T-Zero:

Bang! Rock'n morning! BTW: isn't it Brilliant! Tragic! ?
Avatar 3:43am Bill Mac:

Yo T! So this is what gets you goin! Gotta makes sure I pander to your wishes a bit more.... Morning Madi!
  3:45am T-Zero:

Just woke up! See the sleet shit turned to big fluffy snow flakes covering up all the grey crap.
  3:45am Adam in Portland:

Bill, please tell us a bit about this Ashtabula. I know nothing of it, but am intrigued.
Avatar 3:46am Bill Mac:

Will be my pleasure Adam... coming up on a break so I'll be talking
  3:48am Brian en Angleterre:

Bonjour, je parle francais.
  3:52am Adam in Portland:

Thank you, kind sir!
  3:54am Brian en Angleterre:

Has Leonard Cohen's New Ideas arrived in the new bin yet?
  3:55am Adam in Portland:

I'm very much anticipating your contribution to the pledge premium pile this year.
  3:58am Jay/ London:

Good Morning Bill I over slept how i have not missed too much
  4:03am Brian en Angleterre:

Bill, I am embracing Mitt's shame according to the dictacts of Newt's promo campaign. Loving 'He speaks French' as a capital offense. This whole Rep campaign is tawdry.
Avatar 4:04am Bill Mac:

Hey Jay.... you're here and you can always catch up
  4:07am Steve:

How you find these artists I have to wonder.

Keuhkot is a Finnish one man avantgarde band whose only member is Kake Puhuu (aka Kalevi Rainio) from Pomarkku. Keuhkot started in 1988. Keuhkot's music has been described as post-punk, industrial or antimusic. Keuhkot concerts are performances in which Puhuu may perform from large bird nest boxes or from lecterns. - Wikipedia
  4:09am Adam in Portland:

Dear Jennifer Herrema, don't *ever* stop getting high!

Love, Adam
Avatar 4:11am Bill Mac:

Thanks for doing the research Steve... A lot of times I just listen without an idea of the background of the artist. Any Finns out there with additional knowledge of this guy?
  4:11am Jay/ London:

yes of course I can. was watching a film late last night ( A matter of life and death) i very much enjoyed it now enjoying the show with coffee :)
Avatar 4:12am Bill Mac:

I like the Black Banana CD a lot.... I'll be playing stuff from it weekly.
  4:13am Adam in Portland:

@Bill Mac, I imagine Jennifer Herrema living in a house with chinchilla fur siding.
Avatar 4:13am Bill Mac:

@ T-Zero.... you're right, Art Brut is Brilliant! Tragic! That's what I get for not doing performance enhancing drugs this time of day...
  4:14am Brian en Angleterre:

When it is dog walking time in Watford, it is fish smoking time in Turku.

Jay, great film complete with a camera obscura shot.
  4:14am Adam in Portland:

...and denim wall-paper. ;-)
Avatar 4:16am Bill Mac:

I love that you folks pick up conversations that I can't always get to. Yep, that Jennifer is one wooly babe!
  4:16am T-Zero:

For being a dead guy, Mister Whipple's carcass is a lively dude this morning. I'd sort of expected a more blues rock show with the death of Etta James.
  4:19am Jay/ London:

@ brian en angleterre yes i would love one of those @ T-zero i also thought so too.... and the sun out here 12 c :)
Avatar 4:19am Bill Mac:

I realize I should have been more conscoius of that.... apparently Johnny Otis died this week as well.
  4:21am fred von helsing:

ja huomenta kaikille suominurkassa
  4:22am T-Zero:

Didn't he do Willy and the hand jive?

@Jay. Morning! Dark, snowy, and a whopping -9C here.
  4:23am Jay/ London:

the dave clack five does ichiban mean GREAT ?
  4:25am Jay/ London:

hound dog taylor my wake up song thanks bill ... dancing in the kitchen
Avatar 4:26am Bill Mac:

Public opinion has shifted the show.... long live Etta. Long live Johnny...
Avatar 4:26am Bill Mac:

No problem Jay, just don't open up them stitches...
  4:27am T-Zero:

@Bill... I love Etta James... but I also was loving the obscure ... So, didn't mean to derail what you had goin' on
  4:28am Jay/ London:

etta james one of her very best songs .... oh no bill its dancing but kinda slowish
  4:29am T-Zero:

Heh... "kinda slowish"... describes me perfectly this morning...
Avatar 4:29am Bill Mac:

@T-Zero.... part of the fun of doing the show is bouncing ideas off of one another.
  4:30am Arne, Turin, Italy:

Swing! Man. Where does that come from all of a sudden? Great.
  4:31am Jay/ London:

@ everyone dance to johnny otis he was cool man
  4:33am Adam in Portland:

I've got to step out...but I'm taking you all with me.
Avatar 4:33am Bill Mac:

Hey Arne! ADD kicks in a little more easily when it's dark out. Gotta keep things going and wake you guys up!
Avatar 4:34am Bill Mac:

Cool Adam... we're portable!
  4:39am T-Zero:

Bill, could you play her "Damn your eyes?
  4:47am Adam in Portland:

Bill, I wonder if you'd also consider playing a track from Here Are The Sonics, which was engineered by famed Pacific Northwest recording engineer Kearney Barton. He passed away Tuesday at 80 years of age. He will be missed.
  4:49am T-Zero:

Ohhhh. This is good... Salamander Wool -- never heard of this
Avatar 4:49am Bill Mac:

I can get some Sonics on no problem...
  5:02am fred von helsing:

  5:07am Stanley:

Whoa, just made it for the last hour. Sounds good.
Avatar 5:08am Bill Mac:

Yo Stanley! Welcome tho the party!
  5:12am fred von helsing:

kinda languid for go-go
  5:25am Brian en Angleterre:

Just saw graffitti on a bridge 'Are you happy now' kind of ambigous. It was written where you walk so harder to read. Could be a question for Etta James.
Avatar 5:28am Bill Mac:

Her answer could be "At last"...
Is this thing on?
  5:32am Jay/ London:

@ Brian en Angleterre I saw one that said ( are we having fun yet )
  5:33am Brian en Angleterre:

Was that on Archway bridge?
  5:34am Jay/ London:

not sure but was a bridge
  5:34am T-Zero:

... or Beware...
  5:37am abby:

hi bill, hi everybody. this song is like wondering where the lions are. it's nice.
Avatar 5:43am Bill Mac:

Morning Abby!
  5:43am T-Zero:

Morning, abby!
  5:45am T-Zero:

Barbara Lynn !!! I really need to get her in my collection. I have nothing by her.
  5:48am Brian en Angleterre:

Hope everyone has a good week. Thanks Bill.
  5:50am abby:

Avatar 5:50am Bill Mac:

K Bri! have fun wherever you're at!
Avatar 5:50am Bill Mac:

You can always get on the archives later today and listen again.... I know... not the same.... :(
  5:52am Jay/ London:

@ abby it might be nearly over but we can look forward to next week
  5:53am Jay/ London:

yes bill there is something about listing to the show live my Saturday mornings would not be the same without your show
  5:54am abby:

yes jay and more people will be dead next week for us to listen to. not criticizing just sad.
Avatar 5:56am Bill Mac:

Yessssssssssssssssssssss folks.... be careful if your out in the winter weather... enjoy yourselves whatever you do... until next week!!!
  5:56am T-Zero:

This is one of the few shows I always kick myself for if I miss it...

And, speaking of which... Bill, I don't think I've ever told you... But I really enjoy the way you interact with your audience. I love that personal touch you bring to the show.
  5:57am Stanley:

Nearly time to go. Have a good day Bill and everyone take care.
  5:57am T-Zero:

I'm in for the day... continuing my pattern of hibernation...

You be careful in your travels as well, Bill.
  5:58am Jay/ London:

I second that T-zero
  5:58am Stanley:

I echo T-Zero's sentiments.
  5:59am abby:
